I stopped in try the Food Factory while visiting Fairbanks and wasn't disappointed in the least. The atmosphere was a little less humble than many of the other area restaurants, and I was glad to feel like I was eating in a restaurant that had put some thought into creating a little atmosphere. There was a whole page of Philly cheesesteaks on the menu, so I felt like I should probably have one, since it appeared to be one of their specialties. I decided to go with the Retro-STROGGIE, which is a beef stroganoff-style cheesesteak made with beef, onions, mushrooms and sour cream. I honestly hadn't ever seen anything like it on a menu before, so I knew it was either going to be really good or a huge mistake. I'm happy to say that it was pretty tasty and is indeed something I'd order again. The sandwich was flavorful without going too heavy on the cream, so it held up well as a sandwich. I was pleased to discover that the bread was very tender as well but managed to stay intact as I ate the sandwich. Just the fact that I could eat it pretty much in it's entirely without it falling apart was a testament to the thought that went into the sandwich. Lastly, the steak fries it came with were great and cooked just right. They were a little crispy in the outside and just soft enough on the inside. If you have a chance to check out this restaurant, I would. It's definitely worth the trip.

Day trip to Fairbanks. I'm glad I didn't check the yelp score on this place before we went. I ordered the spicy cheesesteak, I forget exactly what it was called. I'm not normally a cheesesteak guy, but this one had jalapenos listed and no bell peppers listed in the description(I despise bell peppers), so I thought I was safe. It comes out, and there are bell peppers, big chunks of bell peppers, so easy to remove, I should have asked. I get to eating this monstrous sandwich and it is delicious. About regular buffalo spicy with the jalapenos, onions, cheese, and steak. It was really an excellent sandwich. The fries were meh, the servers were very nice and professional. A good place to eat. Portions are huge.

Great service!! Hard to come by in Fairbanks, in my experience recently. Their menu had a great selection of both foods and beers. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. No complaints!

Overall this was a very good experience. We came in on a Friday afternoon and everyone was very friendly. Our waitress really hustled. Our food came out hot and fast. This place wasn't the cleanest but I would definitely come here again.

$2 pints on beer of the month, great hot wings, awesome Cobb salad and their cheese steak bombs are The Bomb... especially the Steak Works. So, if you are looking for a cheap place to drink beer in Fairbanks and hot waitresses, check out Food Works. All prices everywhere in Alaska are higher than Vegas!

Stopped in because hubby was craving a philly cheese steak. Arrived at 800pm. Restaurant wasnt busy, a few tables full here and there. We were seated right away. Waitress brought us a round of waters (3 adults + 2 kids), asked if we wanted crayons and color paper for the little kiddies. Waited 10 minutes before she came back to take our orders. No color crayons for kids. So they went and got it themselves. Our order took 25 minutes before it hit the table and during the 25 minutes our waitress never came to check up on us. She was standing with other waitresses giggling and laughing. We ordered: Deep fried pickles Mushroom cheese steak Side salad Potato soup Clam chowder Chicken strips & fries - kid Penne pasta - kid The food was ok. The soup was good not the best. Salad came with dressing, i asked for more, and she didnt bring any. The penne pasta was dry, my daughter didnt eat it. The chicken strips was dry, not moist, my other daughter didnt eat it. We ordered dessert, which took 10 minutes. Btw the waitress didnt clear our table when the dessert came. We cleared our own table and had to ask someone else to take it. She gave us 1 spoon and there was 5 of us. I had to walk up and ask another waitress for extra spoons. What the??? Deep fried brownies It was loaded with 3 vanilla ice cream scoops and a bottle of raspberry sauce. Wayyy too much sauce. Holy smokes! There was more sauce than brownies. Lol. Total tab was $55.00. We are not going back. Sorry. Service was bad.

They have good Phillys and have replaced a bun that had sauce on it that my friend did not want on her sandwich but the service was horribly slow.

While traveling in Fairbanks, this place was recommended to us by our hotel. Appetizers and cheesesteaks were great! Multiple tv's available to watch sports. Beer/wine/mixed drinks available!

Apparently the sign that says we are open until 10 means we close at 930. We were refused service.

Great service. Everybody is very kind and attentive here. This place is good for burgers and sandwiches. It has a big parking lot and it's well located (easy access, close to town, etc). I would've given it five stars if they didn't advertise it as a place that offers delivery when it actually does not. Maybe they used to (?). Anyway, they don't currently have delivery!

Seriously. Should be renamed jay bird's leg land. I asked the waitress why I've never seen a wing served, and she gave me the most ridiculous answer that people ask for drums so they don't serve wings. What? really? At wing world? Besides the poor tiny little skinny leg pieces, i ask every time for crispy and I never get it. The drums were so tiny i felt bad for the little guys... I realize our options in the banks are limited, I hope someday we get a decent place for good WINGS!! I will never spend money on leg land again! As for the cheesesteaks and burgers. Mediocre at best so far. Good luck new owner, I hope you can turn it around.

So went here not to long ago and got there buffalo Philly cheesesteak. Reading it on the menu, it sounded amazing, when I got it...it was totally gross. I told our waitress that I didn't like it and she took it from our table (which I was in a great mood) then came back, leaned over and started talking to me like a 5 year old kid who has some little kid taste buds, saying "maybe you don't like because of the blue cheese"...I have had it and think it's great but all that together was just nasty. So she asked what I wanted next and I ordered what my husband JUST GOT (a Ruben) and her pretty much constantly asking me "am I sure"- (I guess she thought she was trying to be funny) like she thinks I'm still some child, like literally a couple minuets behind...she comes back and says my husband got the last Ruben...my annoyance level was getting raised a bit...so then I just order a fish sandwich (again her asking if I'm sure) she comes back and it has bacon on it...(never have I ever seen a cod sandwich with bacon) but it was breaded like fish...so I bite into it and it's chicken. I asked her what I ordered to make sure there wasn't any miscommunication and she then said it was the new cooks fault, who had been mixing up orders all day that afternoon. The one thing she did right was comp some of our bill because I think she sensed how pissed off I was. Didn't even eat my sandwich after the first bite. After that I was just pretty much over food factory and just lost my appetite. I feel their food is so subpar for a diner and they kind of half ass it. The menu is too big, they have too much crap on it. I've tried soups, garlic fries, burgers, sandwiches, the wings and it's really mediocre, I only keep going back because my husband doesn't mind this place...please clean your establishment as well, everything in there feels sticky.

Variety of food and beverages makes it deserve an extra star. Terrific menu! Food is pretty good. I got a cheesesteak sandwich (big portion) that came with very tasty steak fries. Service was decent- it was mid afternoon on a Saturday. You can't beat a $1.50 Rolling Rock! I will go back for sure. There's about 12 more types of phillies that I need to try!

Wow, this place is genuinely just bad. It's too bad because it has tons of potential. I honestly think I have had the worst quality of food to be had in Fairbanks to date. The server, Julia, was very friendly, although she upsold the heck out of us without telling us there were extra charges for things like guacamole or a type of fry - just asked if we wanted it so we didn't know until we got the bill. The menu is way too big. It took forever to figure out what we wanted, and there really are no options except burgers and fried food. Absolutely nothing healthy. Not even their wraps or salads are healthy. Our nachos came out with very stale chips, salsa made with canned tomatoes, my fried chicken salad described on the menu as "heaping" with chicken had six pieces of frozen and microwaved to rubbery death mini pieces of chicken on top of wilted and browned lettuce, tomato slices with the end stems still on them, and congealed cheese. Our server may have noticed it did not get eaten but she never once came to ask how the food was. She yelled from another table to ask if we needed any to go boxes and when we said no, she brought our check. There was no point then in telling her about it. This place has so much potential with the deck - it could be an awesome venue for bands and a good bar scene but with lazy food it's just not worth coming back.

I pulled a wax piece of paper off of my cheeseburger here. There was a bite missing, meaning I somehow ate some (hey, I was hungry). I told the waiter what was up, and he offered me 50% off. Like, really, you can't just give this meal to me free? My stomach feels terrible. alright service though.

I have always and forever enjoyed my mealtime at this favorite Fairbanks eatery. Under new ownership for awhile now, they are making changes to the menu and they are for the good!! The new decor as of late is quite nice. Good service, great ownership and the food speaks for itself! You owe it to yourself to head on over and grab a meal. You will not be disappointed. Latest new rave for me? Buffalo chicken mac and cheese.
(5)Angela M.
Average food. Haven't had anything great. The buffalo Mac is disgusting though, way too much bleu cheese, be aware. The jalapeño popper burger didn't impress me at all, nowhere as good as the one you get at Jack in the Box. We ordered the country fried steak sandwich for my kids and it was so hard, I slammed in on table as a joke in front of my waitress ( not in an angry way, she was laughing too) and pieces just flaked off, she too was appalled at it and of course took it off our bill. Now, the spicy Philly (flame thrower, I believe) was good and I would get it again and the habanero raspberry wings were good. Basically, bottom line bar food. Oh, the fried Oreos were a neat treat.

I LOVE this place. If Im out for girls night and drinks or taking all my kids out to a fun dinner with yummy food. I always think of FF first :) great food always great service and family friendly :)

Best cheesesteaks in Fairbanks. The food is so good and the person taking the orders over the phone is always friendly. She always makes me feel welcome as a customer. It makes a difference.

Service is worth the stop. Great rooftop deck to sit on in the summer. Prices are a bit high for burgers and wings....but that is Alaska. Make sure to get wings! Good beer selection....not enough good local beer, too much overrated pseudo craft.

I always come here when I'm home, mostly for the memories of going here when younger. There are a few things on the menu that I love, pretty much anything involving the Denali gold mustard (so the gold king steak and the fried mushrooms). Last time I even ordered extra mustard on the side. However, the service is always terrible. There was hardly anyone there, and one person didn't get his second beer. The waitress just forgot to bring it. And it's not like she's working hard, she had about two tables in the whole restaurant. It just wasn't that great. Will I go back? Probably. Something about it reminds me of home. Is it very good? Not really. The food is alright, and the service is pretty terrible.

Poor service is the main issue. When getting seated at most places you will be set up with water and checked for an initial drink order. Not so here. We were given menu's and away went the wait staff. The food was good, adequate quality, etc. I ordered a guacamole chicken wrap sandwich that came with salsa and chips. The salsa that came out was a small covered "to go" container. Now why would you serve the salsa in this way. A time saver? I immediately asked for another portion of the salsa. The wait staff refilled our drinks and "forgot" my request for the salsa. I was able to flag down another table's wait staff and get another container of salsa. It did not last long and was not sufficient. Just a stupid situation. Not worth the trouble of trying to get more. On this day the wait staff was distracted by a large group, so lost focus on the small tables. Just plain poor training. The menu is burger/sandwich extensive. They don't appear to notice whether things work out or not. Too bad.
(2)Brad B.
Waited 15 min to be seated no one ever came and seated us. Can't tell you how the food was. The place was not packed
(1)Brendan J.
Food is decent, but staff is quite slow and unresponsive. It's always busy which is good for them but not for you since the staff is lacking. Check it out but not worth a return visit
(3)Nick A.
I wasn't too impressed with this place after not having gone for years. The wait time to be seated was terrible. I stood there and waited, while multiple employees saw me standing there, but no one took the time to talk to me. The place wasn't even busy. The waitress at least was friendly. I'm not sure I'll be going back here on my next visit to town, since the service has gone downhill.
(2)Nacima H.
First time eating here and last time! I've had better food ... Was kinda disappointed. The food was really greasy too, the beer wasn't too bad at least they had a descent selection of that. Not coming here though. Not even for the beer. The service waitress was nice though.

Meh. I've experienced better. I came here because I remembered this place years ago, and I wondered if it got any better or if I remembered it wrongly. Nope. I came here and ordered sweet tea, while others ordered water, tea, and lemonade for the kids. We ordered mozzarella sticks, 2 bowls of mac and cheese (kraft quality for the kids), guac burger with bacon added, mushroom steak sandwich without onions, and a bacon cheeseburger. Ordered a variety of fries with the meals, from steak to shoestring to curly. We all ate to fill, and it was crappy. Well... it was what it was. It wasn't that bad, just cheap and filling. The server wasn't very attentive, and she kept putting her hand on my shoulder blade when asking or listening to me, which kind of weirded me out. Bill came to $59 and some change. When you pay for food you have to bring it to the register, located near the kitchen where the cook will see you and lean out and ask excitedly, "How was it?" And you will reply, "I am very full," and pat your belly with gusto so that he thinks you fully appreciated every bite because he asked so nicely and he honestly cares. Ehhh, maybe I'm too harsh of a taste and quality critic... Interior reminds me of chili's meets outback steakhouse.
(2)Ryan V.
I give two stars only because I didn't get food poisoning. Wings looked like they slaughtered baby chicks for them. Their cheesesteak was plentiful but that was all. They have a good beer list to erase the memory of this place.
(2)Amanda M.
I grew up just outside of Philly so I was pleasantly surprised to find such an amazing cheese steak up here in Fairbanks!
(4)Kristan B.
I've been coming here all my life so thats probably why I give it three stars, but otherwise if would probably get a one. Pretty greasy, I always stick to one thing, the original cheesesteak... Every time I have deviated from that I've been disappointed. They have cleaned it up and made it feel less grimy when you go in, but it is still more like a low-grade Chilis.
(3)Mandy R.
For all the advertising they have, I expected more. They rave about their cheesesteaks and they are some of the worst I have had. The service is not usually very good, and the staff is iffy.
(2)Aris V.
The sandwiches here give me mental images of what a wet bag of penile foreskins would taste like, assuming they were left in a plastic bag in the sun for a day or two. This is terrible.
(1)Commodore E.
The Alaska version of chili's, more or less. Certainly not memorable!
(3)Katie B.
My friend ordered the drummette garlic Parmesan wings and the server brought whole wings. THEY STILL HAD FEATHERS ON THEM! So gross. And they were literally in a pool of grease in the basket. Not only that but when we told her he ordered the drummettes, not the whole ones, our server did nothing to fix her mistake or ask if he wanted anything else. Disgusting food and poor service. I got the mushroom philly cheese steak, also a disappointment considering the lack of the meat, cheese, and veggies. It was pretty much all bun for $14. This place is terrible. Spend your money somewhere else.

Wow! I live near Fairbanks and don't often go to food factory because of the old owner. (cheep quality) But I will say wow! I had the buffalo mac and cheese. oh my god! yes I say. also turkey burger with avocado and bacon. what.......!? the wait staff was so wonderful .Julie I think her name was. wow soooo nice I gave her a 50 percent tip. I never do that! I don't skip but that is what I was doing when I departed.
(4)Kelley T.
I got a weird vibe at this place. The food was average. The sweet potato fries were good though.
(2)Lisa A.
Food is moderate at best. 99% of the servers dress like low class hookers. They seriously need to DEEP clean everything!
(2)Nina A.
Good food. Great Phillies. The coconut shrimp was great. The most selection of beer I have ever seen in the U.S. .. not exactly "healthy" eats though.
(4)Chris G.
It might be your kinda place if you like lots of different options. The food is average.
(2)Richard M.
Good cheese steaks, wings and great salads. Cheesy decor and variable service but good food.
