Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I've been here a few times and while the service isn't horrible it leaves a lot to be desired. I got the pork tamale lunch recently and was unpleasantly surprised that the tamale must have been previously frozen and heated in the microwave and that one side was burned. The pulled pork was dry as heck and mostly inedible. The rice and beans were so so. One oddball thing is you have to ask for chips and salsa in order for them to give them to you. Eh, maybe I'm bing too harsh but I don't think I will return.

The food is okay, some items are better than others. Their fish tacos are the only good food I have had. The beef fajitas were not good, the beef was super hard. Their enchiladas were not the best either. We have been here twice and both times our waiters seemed like it was their first day or they were new. The second time we went our waitress ignored us for like 15 mins because a large group was sat in our area and there was no one else around for us to get our check from. She would literally avoid our table and any eye contact lol. Their margaritas are on point, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars instead of 2.

We had a great meal here..off the menu. They were running a lunch buffet at the time, and did quite the large business of local workers coming though for their lunch time. Our service was excellent, timely, attentive. Our food was fresh tasting, excellent. We will be back here again for lunch.

I thought I was reviewing something else. Please disregard

Long wait, cold food, fajitas that are meat and tomatoe paste...so called live music that sounded like a dog in heat...Waitress and margaritas was only thing worth going for...sad won't be back...miss the real Los amigo

We've been here before for brunch and it was pretty good. Unfortunately today was not a good experience. Their food was good, but their service was horrible. Our waitress hardly attended to us and we had to ask other waitresses to come over and ask for refills on our drinks. We also asked for separate checks, and she gave us a single check. We then had to ask another waitress to get her again to bring us the proper checks. Last but not least, me and my boyfriend paid in cash and she did not bring us our change. I understand the food industry, having worked in a place where tips are important, but do not EVER assume the leftover cash is yours unless the customer specifically says so, or they leave it for you before they leave. I'm usually pretty easy to please in terms of service -- refill our drinks and check up on us to make sure we don't need anything else, and I'm a happy camper. I'm very disappointed with how we were treated today, and not having the waitress return out change really irked me. Since she didn't return our change, I didn't leave a tip-- and that's something I firmly believe in, since I know how the food industry works. So, with that in mind, I don't plan to come back to Los Amigos for a long time.

The service here is good. But that's also partly because the guy I came with happened to know everyone working that night. Veggie tacos are available here; they just don't advertise it though so you'd better ask. But...I wouldn't order it unless you were starving, like I was. It was very, uhm, mediocre. A better word for it would start with an 's'. I don't mean to be hard on this place because, like I said, the employees were really nice. And I even happened to sit next to the two owners at the bar who were also very friendly! But I live in Texas so Tex-Mex is not foreign to me and the tacos I had here were not Tex-Mex. In fact, I'm not too sure what country and continent they were from. It just wasn't good. Definitely cheap food but only good when buzzed or drunk.

Waitress forgot drinks forgot chips and salsa poured drink down my back and onto my coach purse with phone in it, food isn't good and like I said bad service..this is the only review I've ever done because it was just that bad.

Hands down, the worst service I've ever had anywhere, but the food was alright. It was a group of four and they brought out two plates, then more than 30 minutes later, they brought ONE more plate, leaving the last person without any dinner for 40 minutes after the first couple got their food. Some of the sides were missing. We never got a refill on water, so eventually one of us went and got a water pitcher, and the server (who was nice enough) was very confused the whole time. They should have waited until everything could come out at least within a few minutes of each other. It's also quite smoky instead, which is really gross. So, service of food would get negative stars, if possible, and food itself gets two stars, thus earning 1 star. If you decide to come here, just make sure you have a lot of time available.

Best prime rib in FAIRBANKS!! Go to the bar and find a rowdy looking individual named Ryan (I Think his actual name is George) and make friends and he will guide you through the rest of your LA experience!. He has been a regular there for 5+ years. Ryan suggested the Prime Rib and it was everything I ever dreamed it could be for far cheaper than the Turtle Club. The drinks are strong and the Prime rib is awesome, I will never again go to the Turtle Club for prime rib after this experience unless I'm in the mood for a salad.

After hearing radio advertisements for Los Amigos for years, I finally decided to try it out. The overall interior is fine-- nothing fancy and pretty low key. Large space so that the bar and restaurant are separated to a certain degree, which is nice because the noise from the bar stays in that area. I really like the booth seating-- very comfy. The menu is quite large ... burgers, standard Tex-Mex (enchiladas, tamales, tacos, etc.), a salad bar, etc. Received a complimentary side of chips and salsa, which were pretty yummy. Ordered nachos with beef as an appetizer, which was decent and came with standard toppings like olives, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. Had the pork tamale plate ... came with two tamales, rice and refried beans. Very filling. I liked that they used generous amounts of real cheese; however, the overall meal was pretty bland and I kept adding hot sauce to everything. Had the fried ice cream for dessert ... not impressed. Instead of frying the ice cream like at other restaurants, the vanilla ice cream is topped with fried, sugared oats, which stick to your teeth instead of being crunchy/crispy. The presentation was nice, the ice cream and oat topping arrived in a fried wheat cone thing surrounded by whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Needless to say, over half of the ice cream was left to melt. The service was excellent but the food so-so.

It was a really nice place for a first date as it is pretty quiet. I was not impressed with the food, even though they did have mexican beer in a bottle not just a can. The food was kind of bland. I've been to some pretty authentic TexMex restaurants around Atlanta and Tampa. I would go back to this restaurant for the service, but not the food.
