Food here is amazing! Also great prices too. Highly recommend coming to eat... cozy, historic feel. Not good for families since it also has a bar. Staff is really nice... just watch out for hotel desk staff ... they are known to be rude

cook needs to be replaced.. just slidin by with sams club or cheaper bar food. I had a grilled pastrami with Swiss on rye. cheapest tasting pastrami I've ever had, I think buddig meat may be better..the Swiss was the Swiss food cheese product, the rye wasn't even toasted..basically should've been a Reuben, but was a disgusting knock off.. hmmm, that was a special on the board..for $12!!..if u look at the menu, you'll notice a pastrami sandwich with everythin on there for $12.. wtf?... shouldn't expect much, they ain't tryin to impress! besides all that horrible food.. ambience is cool, beer is good, service was jus fine, thanks!

The Iris is an incredible throwback, frozen in time somewhere in the mid-1960s. Skip the "cafe" portion of the restaurant and make your way into the saloon--a dark, seedy grotto strewn with Christmas lights. Pull up a heavy baronial chair, order an Alaskan amber and relax to the sweet melodies of Lesley Gore. The menu here is basically a suggestion--half of the items are unavailable or out of stock. My recommendation is to drink whatever's on tap and choose your entree from the specials board. To my surprise, they had grilled halibut and king crab legs for about $22 a pound. The plating was classic and simple: overcooked vegetables, butter sauce and a starter salad. The halibut was well-prepared, while the crab legs were meaty and generous. The well drinks are stiff--ideal when it's sunny outside at 10:30 PM. As for the service, it's brusque but tends to get warmer with every drink you order. It's mostly a locals bar, but it would behoove the management to target tourists in the adjacent Westmark Hotel. There aren't many other places in the area to get an "earthy" dose of Fairbanks!

I really love the atmosphere in this place. I think they have some of the best seats in the house. My favorite is the two seats right in front of the fire place. When I lived there it was my favorite place to go for special occasions. The food can be hit and miss when it is good it is great but on occasion it can be mediocre.

Located in the Golden Nugget Hotel it's one of the few choices in downtown Fairbanks. Regular menu plus daily specials, full bar. Generally decent food... servers are friendly but it can be a bit of a wait sometimes if they are shorthanded, which does happen.

You can't go wrong eating lunch here! Everything and everyone is so nice! Great family friendly atmosphere it can get a little exciting in there but they are a bar and restaurant I love the staff and I love the food! I'm a regular there best soups in town!
