We had a great experience at the Fairbanks Princess Lodge. We were on the third floor at the end in a large room. Very nicely appointed and comfortable. The staff was ready to answer questions and give assistance when needed. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but did get coffee in the coffee shop, which was delicious. They offered breakfast sandwiches and pastries at a reasonable price. In was a beautiful day, so we walked the river walk around the grounds, the to Fred Meyer Groceries about 1 1/2 miles away. A great first couple of days of vacation.

Located next to the Chena River, I got to do a nice short leisure walk along the river which circles around the lodge through a small forest. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The workout gym was decent with a sauna. Had to go to the lobby to use the WiFi as it couldn't reach in my room. You can ask to have them do a wake-up call for the Northern Lights, but it was cloudy on the nights that I stayed there. Complimentary airport shuttle to the airport which is across the lodge. The lodge has 2 restaurants and you're pretty much forced to eat there or the subpar restaurant in the hotel next door if you don't have a car.

We arrived at the Princess at 2:00am exhausted from our 10 hour flight. Despite some hiccups, the lodge was extremely accommodating. They immediately got us into a room with minimal hassle. The lodge is conveniently located near the airport, all major highways leading out of Fairbanks, and within bearable walking distance to the Fred Meyer, a nicer Walmart/Target with a really nice grocery section. It's probably one of the better hotels to stay at on your way in or out of Fairbanks. The room was clean and had a family hotel feel. The price point however, is a bit high for the star quality you are getting.

My wife and I go there every now and then for something different, and that it is, it is a modern mine, the type that mines tourist wallets, but they do have a great pork chop, but they sure know how to charge for it, halibut is also good, don't even think of steak, 6oz fillet that's a kiddie cut it should be about 1/3 the price they want, salads are terrible also, every thing about this place seems to be about volume, get them in, take what you can from them now because they won't be back.

Room was the best of the 3 Princess lodges we stayed in, nice location on the river. We avoided the restaurants, so can't say anything about them, did have a drink on the deck; which was a good experience. We came here through a Princess cruise land tour, and had to go seek out our "See it in Fairbanks luggage", as it was not delivered to our room.

We stayed here as a part of the Princess Cruise Tour. If you're curious about the whole experience you can also see my reviews on the Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, as well as the various places we visited in Talkeetna (Wildflower, Shirley's, West Rib, & Mahay's), Denali (Lynx, Salmon Bake, Black Bear Coffee House, & Denali), and Fairbanks (Gold Dredge 8, Riverboat Discovery, & Chena's Alaskan Grill). We stayed here for 2 nights: July 5th-7th, 2015. This lodge wasn't our favorite or least favorite. It's right on the Chena River. There are a few restaurants/shops that are walking distance, some owned by Princess, some owned locally. Apparently there is a $5 shuttle to downtown Fairbanks, but we didn't use it. Check-in was easy because we were doing it through the Princess land tour. They give you a welcome packet that has your keys, a map, luggage tags if applicable, and itinerary while at that lodge. We had called a few weeks before our vacation to see if we could get a room with a view, and I guess they tried because they gave us room 269 which looks out onto a grassy area. The room had a bed, two nightstands, desk, flatscreen TV, closet with an iron & board, and the bathroom had a shower tub & toilet, with the sink right outside the bathroom with a hair dryer. The decor was the most updated of the three we stayed at. We could hear EVERYTHING the neighbors above us did. The in room coffee was awful. The bed was the most comfortable of the three lodges we stayed at, but still not great. This lodge had the most TV Channel choices, which was fantastic because we were able to watch the World Cup. They have blackout curtains, but they aren't long so light still gets through. This made it terribly difficult to sleep, especially since it's still bright 24/7 at this time of year. Check out was easy. We just had to drop off our room keys & get on the bus to the airport. They offer to check your luggage in for you but we opted out of that. The coffee shop was a joke. The coffee they served me had a ton of grounds in it. The oatmeal was one of those to-go cups that you can buy at the grocery store.

For our introduction to the Princess land tour this establishment was a huge disappointment. We were supposed to have a roll-away bed in the room and when we arrived the room was only set up for two people. One was brought to us, but just dropped off and we had to try to cram in the extra bed into a very small room. We had to keep requesting additional towels as they kept restocking the room for two people. The dining room was another downer. The food was mediocre at best. We were really expecting much higher quality accommodations from what is advertised as a high end cruise/tour package, I would never voluntarily stay here again.

The Riverside Lodge is a nice place. The lobby is ver nice and comfortable. All staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a view if the Chena River from our 2nd floor room. The room was clean and adequate. I will say the room is no frills. A very basic room. The shower didn't drain very quickly but other than that it's more than enough to rest up for your next adventure. Restaurants are basically the same. We ate at 2 of the 3 and the menus are the same with exception of maybe 1 or 2 items. Best bet is to go into town and eat at a local restaurant. Better prices and better selection.

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. Our room was quiet, clean and simply appointed. This hotel is along the Chena River, of which our room had an excellent view. It looks like a Holiday Inn - queen size bed, dinky TV (seriously, you should not be watching TV in Alaska), a desk and chair (and some other furniture), with a bathroom that included a full-size shower. If you stay here, DO NOT eat in the restaurant. The service is awful, and the food is not that good. People staying in the hotel have no other nearby options, so most eat here. I had the salmon caesar. The salad was fine, but the salmon was so overcooked (lacking any moisture). For $18, this should have been awesome. Free wi-fi, which is awesome, and great river views. I would stay here again. Just don't expect a luxurious resort.

Room was clean, very simple. When we checked inour key didn't work, I hiked back to the front desk to have the keys reprogrammed, the young lady never said a word to me. Not hello, no apology for the inconvenience, nothing. When I asked to speak to a manager there was not one available. Poor customer service at best from the bulk of the staff we dealt with.

It would have been fine if no one was in the rooms next to us, BUT that was not the case. Paid over $200 for a room and all I hear are some ladies rowdy kids in the room next to me. Already asked them to be quiet directly, and later had to call the front deck and complain. Still, all I hear is thumping, giving it another hour till I check put and go down the street to Pikes. For this kind of money there should be done sound proofing. HATING IT!
