Great food, great service! I go here all the time, best Thai in Fairbanks!

It is the best Thai food in Fairbanks but def not the best one I ever had and it is a bit pricy for Thai food!!!

So I went on here on a wendsday afternoon at around 4pm. There were only about 5 people inside. I was seated and given a menu then it seemed I was forgotten about for several minutes. I ordered the halibut egg rolls and pad kee mao with chicken. The egg rolls were amazing but the food service was quite slow. I only had about 3-4 mins until they brought out the main course. I ordered the pad kee mao as medium since most Thai places I have been to go hotter. The medium was basically slightly more than a mild to me. The chicken was also pretty dry. Overall the food was good. I'll be back to give them another chance.

For the taste, food, service, I give 4 stars. Interesting location. All the buildings downtown Fairbanks are old and have a seedy look to them. So when I opened the door that said Bahn Thai, with pretty gold lettering, I was slightly taken aback by the rough around the edges hallway interior that was before me; a hobo greeted me inside the door. Not too deterred I looked down the hallway and saw the sign on the wall about 30 feet in beckoning me into thaifoodtopia. The interior had gold/yellow walls with plenty of tables, wooden painted screens giving a sense of privacy between tables, and Asians running around serving all the tables. We arrived around noon and there did seem to be a fair number of people enjoying themselves during business/casual lunch. I ordered the red curry with chicken, fresh rolls, and Thai iced tea while my dining companion ordered yelllow curry with tofu and chicken to the dish, $1 more. We both asked for spicy and were not disappointed. I would say that the red curry was spicy but not very flavorful, but the perfectly cooked vegetables and chicken more than made up for it. The yellow curry was perfect, slightly sweet with a combination of well balanced spices. The fresh rolls were also good, though the sweet chili sauce that was served with them was not my favorite; almost had a molasses flavor to it. The rolls and red curry lunch came to just over $20, I think they forgot to charge for the tea. I will definitely come and enjoy this place again, and if it's a choice between Thai House or here, it will always be here.

This place is awesome. They will custom make dishes exactly as you order. Come here knowing what you want and you will get it. Totally 5 stars !

Had drunken noodles and fried shrimp roll. The shrimp rolls were delicious. However, the drunken noodles were undercooked.

The place is decorated with beautiful decor and the service was awesome. She didn't introduce herself and I never asked her name, but our server was terrific. This place is a must if youre visiting Fairbanks. Good service, good food, good price. Come check it out.

I had lunch at the Banh Thai Restaurant in Fairbanks, AK on 8/11/2014. It was my first time there. I had their Pad Cashew for $9.95 and some tea for $2.00. The interior has a pleasant goal and orange color and the serving girls wear beautiful Thai outfits - but my camera wasn't working, drats!

Heard the food is delicious but am not able to review because I sat there for 10 minutes and was never spoken to so I decided to leave. Rude employees and horrible first impressions.

Just average... We had green curry chicken and tom-yum soup. Both are average. A little bit expensive, but that is expected in such a city for tourists as Fairbanks.

Asked a local for a great "non-tourist" recommendation. Was told this is the best Thai food in town. They were right. Service is good and food came fast. My party ordered 5 different plates. All were very different but really delicious. However, mild spicy means not spicy at all.

I started eating at Bahn Thai sometimes because it was next door to my Laundromat. The food was always okay. I've since found a better pad thai dive in town but I recently went to Bahn Thai downtown on my lunch break. I decided to try the seafood pad thai instead of my usual chicken, and it was GROSS. As soon as the plate was put in front of me, I could smell a rotten sour fishy smell. I ate one bite of the calamari and almost vomited. The seafood had all gone bad and it smelled awful. Maybe it was a fluke, but I love my GI system too much to try it again.

It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. The service I could say the same. I love their outfits and decor. I think we got a gal on a bad day. I could sense she was nice, but maybe her mom scolded her. The tom yum was cold, but with pretty good flavor. Weird textured shrimp. Green curry was nice. The Thai roasted chicken dish was ok. It was kinda boring and dry. I asked for the condiments like fish sauce, pickled peppers, chili flakes, or peanuts. They didn't have it. Bummer.

I always get the Nuer Yang and I love it. I generally order it as takeout for lunch and its speedy and delicious.

As it is the only thai restaurant I've been to, I don't have a lot to base my review on from that standpoint. However, the food we ordered was tasty, the service was pretty good, but one thing we did not like is being sat next to other full tables when there were plenty of open tables available. Would not suggest coming here if you are in a rush.

Good food, staff was friendly nice and attentive. Nice quite place to eat, and they remember there locals.

Great food, friendly & quick service, and reasonable prices. I come here every time I'm in Fairbanks (1-2x/year) and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend it!
(5)Winky C.
A little bit expensive although we ate lunch... The food was okay, tomyum soup for me tasted like MaMa instant noodle soup base

Great food and service. Typical Thai food. Larb was really good.

I ate there several times over the past week. The food is great, the atmosphere is quiet and the service is friendly and efficient. My favorite dish is the Massaman Curry.
(5)Al A.
Friendly staff. They serve salmon and halibut cooked Thai style. Rice is $1.50/person for unlimited esrvings.
(5)Becky D.
Perfectly seasoned shrimp curry dish in a tastefully decorated restaurant. Great service and moderately priced. Worth a try!
(4)S C.
Decent service and very beautifully decorated! The food felt lacking though. I had the Massaman curry with beef. The potatoes were not cooked all the way. I ordered my dish medium spicy but don't feel anything was added. The beef had a nice sweet flavor was bordering on overcooked. No curry taste, very disappointing, bland dish.

Pretty good food, really great service. Try the drunken noodles!

Best Thai in Fairbanks! Delicious food and generous portions. Outstanding service. This is one of my favorite restaurants. James and staff treat you like family. The green curry is the best I have had, even in Thailand I could not find such deliciousness. The spring rolls are so good. Really there is nothing on the menu that could be wrong. Almost everything on the menu can be made vegetarian. The ingredients are always fresh, I am not sure how they accomplish this in the winter in Fairbanks.
(5)Melissa K.
Passable Thai but not outstanding. The dining area is large and well-decorated. Service is good but curries tend to be on the watery side.

Bhan Thai is one of the few things I look forward to when I come to Fairbanks for work. I had to start with the Pad Thai when I first came here as the base with which to compare. It was delicious. Definitely order it spicier that what you'd usually order as they're very conservative on the flame-factor. (They do have hot oil and other things to spice it up if your tongue needs a proper lashing.) The only downside I found was that they serve it with lemon instead of lime...easily remedied with a quick request for a citrus exchange. Today I tried the Tom Yum soup...spicy. No need for cold meds today! Good thing I was seated away from others as I blew through no less than four dinner napkins (gross, sorry). This soup was amazing- pretty much french onion meets chicken noodle...meets Chuck Norris. Overall, have I had better Thai? Maybe, but not in Fairbanks. If you're in the area...do it, it's yummy.

Nice size portions for a great value. Authentic, tasty thai food located in downtown fairbanks. Red curry was fair. Tom yum soup was excellent. Service was good and clean restaurant.

I wanted to hate this place. Up until trying Bahn Thai my favorite Thai food in Fairbanks had always been Lemongrass. Not anymore! The food is delicious but the atmosphere is lacking. The location is in the heart of downtown Fairbanks which I love, and the decoration is nice but it feels more like a dining hall than a restaurant. The service wasn't bad, but wasn't great, either. So, it depends on whether you're looking for outstanding food or a great atmosphere. Your choice, but you can't go wrong at Bahn Thai!
