Yes! Bistro is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants. I come here maybe too much but I can't get enough of the food. They make fun food in a way that us average folks may say is "fancy". It's a little pricier than others but it's all worth it. I personally start off with Calamari that's cooked just right paired with a creamy Aioli sauce. For entrée I'll usually mix it up considering the menu changes ever so often. My favorite dessert is a Pastry Biscuit smothered in berries a la mode (ice cream on top). I'm big on good service and they always come through. Very friendly and welcoming.

To be honest I watched this place get put together for what seemed like 2 years. Then I read some tepid reviews, so I avoided it. I'm sorry I avoided it. I was waiting for the tire change at Costco and thought, yeah I'll go. I got seated right away, got a menu and ordered. I waited for a while for my food, because there were two parties of 18 people that got seated right before me, plus the usual amount of twos and fours. While waiting, four staff came up and apologized for the wait offering bread and refills. I've never had that happen! Great service for sure. Anyhow the Reuben was excellent homemade sauerkraut marbled rye and the wedge fries were delicious too. If you like sauce, ask for a side, but the sandwich was packed with really good corned beef!

Yes Bistro is a bit different from your other options in East Anchorage, so I can say Yes to that when I'm on this side of town. The wide selection of cuisines (American, Asian, Mexican) allows you to eat with the picky eaters, so Yes again. The modern design make for an inviting atmosphere, so Yes to that. And with cooks that know what they're doing to prepare wonderfully tasty dishes, it make this a great place to eat. Yes, please.

This place has great potential! Unfortunately, I'm not sure it will ever live up to it due to the location and over-ambitious food. Went here today with the Mom. Been meaning to try it, but rarely travel to the Eastside. Great layout with an open kitchen and contemporary atmosphere. You can tell a LOT of moolah went into the renovation. Which is likely why their prices are so high... Mom had the Oriental chicken salad. A fair price at $11. Good taste, but slightly over-dressed. I had the portobello burger with a side salad. There was a $2 up charge for soup or salad, which isn't bad if the burger was reasonably priced. At $14, it seemed a bit high. The burger itself was promising but muddled. It was difficult to eat due to the size. Bread was great, mushroom was good, but was over-powered by the caramelized onions, peppers, goat cheese, and God-knows what else was on there. Not bad, but another case of over-zealous Chef-afying. Keep it simple! Let the flavors speak for themselves! Salad was very pedestrian. I don't like knowing it was the bagged stuff from Costco (it was) with canned dressing (I asked). If you're going to charge me for it, it better be good! All in all, not a bad experience. Server Ruby was timely. I just don't know if it's going to make it at this location--I think people are more apt to go to Denny's across the way. Better prices and a recognizable establishment.

Absurd prices for what they're serving up at Yes Bistro. $14 for a BLT with avocado that had just 3 thin slices of regular bacon. If you're going to charge that much for a simple sandwich the ingredients must be top notch. Had the seafood chowder for a side which was another couple bucks. The chowder was pretty good but it was marred by being just a touch above room temperature. Unfortunately the wait staff was really good; I can't imagine the crap they get with the menu prices and the food they have to bring to the tables. I won't give it another shot, sorry Yes, but you get a big fat NO from me.

The food here is awesome although they have a very limited beer selection. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly, and the food is great. Definitely will be going back!

We have been going to Yes! since they opened. We love the food and the atmosphere . And it is so nice to have a great restaurant on the east side of town . We went for dinner last night and I think it was one of the best meals we have had there yet. My husband had the Aged New York Steak and I had the Coconut crusted Halibut with curry rice. Both entrees were amazing and every detail of the meal was very well executed. The vegetables were perfect and the overall presentation was beautiful.

I like this place better when it was a Big Boy circa 1978 Way too fancy for east anchorage Weird food. Didn't taste all that bad but too pricey and too foo foo.

So happy to have some fine dining on the east side! I've been twice now and it's been great both times. Nice location, great staff, food that ranges from solid to delicious. My rib-eye was quite good, but the look on my dad's face when he dug into his cioppino was worth the cost of the meal on its own (it was apparently pretty spectacular). Also the chocolate mousse is just about perfect. My one complaint is that both times I've been in they've been missing several items off their menu, which is a little disappointing. Some of that might be the growing pains of a young business; I hope they work it out, because I would like to try their ribs next time I'm in town.

I always hate leaving lackluster reviews, but I want to be truthful otherwise what is the point right? Let me say that the outside is not that impressive, still looks pretty much like the old Phillips International Inn restaurant, but the inside is beautiful. Trendy and very classy looking. The booths are huge and very roomy and perfect for groups of 6 or 8 easily. I really want to see this place succeed just because its so nice inside, and while I'm not big on the location I would make the trip if the food was amazing. This was my first time eating here, had high hopes as I had heard wonderful things from several friends about this place. Not sure what happened..maybe we caught them on a bad night or something. But underwhelmed is the word that pops into my head. We ordered the calamari, which I do have to say was very good. I don't eat much fried food, so I could only eat a little bit of it, but what I did have was tasty, crisp, and well seasoned, and the sauce was very good. That's where the ove affair ended. For dinner I ordered the Shrimp Scampi for $24.00. This was the menu description: "Grilled tiger prawns served on fresh fettuccini with a sage cream sauce, button mushrooms, onions, and julienned carrots. Served with grilled baguette." Sounds good on paper, not so good in my bowl. The tiger prawns were big, but bitter and not good tasting at all. The cream sauce would've been ok, except that it had way too many barely cooked onion slices in it that overwhelmed the sauce and made it taste like onion cream sauce. The Al dente carrots and onions in it didn't pair well with the soft pasta, and button mushrooms. It made it hard to eat, with stiff carrot sticks sticking out and it was just NOT GOOD. Also it was supposed to come with a grilled Baguette which I never got. My friend ordered the Lasagna $16.00. It looked ok, but came served in a shallow bowl. Description read: "Medley of homestyle flavors deconstructed and reassembled in layers of homemade Lamb Bolognese, Bechemel, Fresh AK Pasta Lasagna sheets, and a variety melted white cheese served with garlic bread." She said it was OK but nothing remarkable or that stood out. Neither of us went OMG this is delicious. I left most of dinner in the bowl and didn't want a to go box (which hardly ever happens.) I this point I have no desire to go back here for dinner unless something seriously changes. I would go try out the lunch menu and see if that resonates better, but for now I have to say I'm disappointed and sad that it wasn't amazing! I really wanted to love this place!

Back for Sunday breakfast and again very pleased with the food and atmosphere. New this week was a fruit cup served as we waited for our breakfast. Delicious! Tried the lemon scone on the side and it was delicious. While again it was a great experience I would make one suggestion and that would be a better type of coffee. I'd pay a little more if they used something good like a Kaladis roast. Still a 5 star morning.

So my wife and I decided to try the modern cuisine restaurant called "Yes, Bistro!" I ordered the steak flank which was pretty good but the purple Alaskan potatoes had a weird funky taste. The broccoli stems were tasty though. I ordered the Midnight Sun brew made amber beer which was tasty as well. I got the appetizer wings, but it wasn't spicy enough an way too crispy. I believe the food is cooked different because they also have a chimes menu and there were a lot of Chinese cooks. The duck soup was amazing. Overall our experience was decent. It took a bit long for the food to come out. I don't mind coming back to check out the other menu options. However they are a bit pricy.

I really want to see this place succeed. The decor is beautiful, organic and tasteful. Truly a bistro styled restaurant. I had been one time before today and had the shrimp and scallop grilled salad. Though on the smaller side, the flavors were fresh & citrusy, salad crisp and the seafood, though slightly small in portion, were cooked perfectly. I took my mom today for her birthday. They were transitioning to another wine menu, but the waiter accommodated us with tastings of a delicious Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and syrah/grenache blend. We started with the calamari appetizer and it was outstanding. The squid was super tender, thick flank pieces, lightly dredged in a flour coating and fried, served with an aioli. I think they used 5 Chinese spice in the dredge, and the Thai cilantro aioli wasn't too thick or overpowering. The flavors were perfectly melded and delicious. My mom ordered a reuben, but departed from the traditional rye bread and instead did a ciabata hoagie. I had a large ceasar salad. I was less than pleased with the ceasar - the romaine was slightly wilted, room temp and swimming in dressing. The anchovies on top had so many bones in them, they were literally attacking the insides of my mouth. I virtually NEVER turn back food, but it was necessary and the waiter was super accommodating - he comped the salad. The reuben was good, the corned beef ample and the switch on the bread worked fine. I liked the spin on the purple cabbage sauerkraut. A big shout out to the waiter, he was so relaxed about my wine questions, despite the fact that he had to keep checking prices and wine types. When we asked him his opinion on certain menu items, he was totally upfront (I REALLY appreciate that!). So come on Anchorage, lets help this place succeed, because despite my unhappiness with this one menu item, I think these guys have a lot going for them if we can give it a chance.

After living in Anchorage for 3 years, I've only endorsed 3 restaurants. Yes Bistro now makes it 4. Rarely do you find a restaurant in Alaska where pride in one's kitchen is so evident. From the ambiance to the skill and craft of the server, Yes Bistro does everything absolutely perfect, hyping the kitchen to perform at the expectation set so far. Needless to say, the kitchen does not disappoint!! Taking new approaches to cuisine favorites, Yes Bistro completes the dining experience. Make sure to try the shrimp scampi, the lasagna, and the sweet potato raviolis. Take it from me, a random guy who's review most likely means nothing to you, check out this place. I'm lazy, but the fact I've spent the last 4 minutes typing this out, should say something.

Very pleasantly surprised! Probably never would have stopped here without Groupon- so glad I bought one. We sat outside (which I thought would be awkward since it is on the corner of Debarr and Bragaw- it is far enough off the street when sitting- sweet!) and everything we ordered was delish. Calamari app was perfect- it reminded me of the Glacier Brewhouse calamari. I had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and the hubs had the Yes burger, also with sweet potato fries. Both were awesome and we finished with leftovers to spare. We will definitely be back and will happily pay full price. Next time I am getting the red velvet waffles for Sunday brunch. Yum!

Worst waiter we've ever had; ~45-50year old guy, tall, reddish blond hair. See the picture for his professional reply We ordered my wife's filet minion as we ALWAYS do, well, and said to butterfly it if necessary. I should add, that the waiter asked once if I said well done, and I confirmed that is what I had said; that completed our order process. They served us a piece of leather; it was so dry and tough- way overcooked. When the waiter asked how It was, we told him that it was very dry and tough. His response in an incredibly condescending tone, "you ordered it well done, what did you expect?". WTF?! Seriously?? Never once did he apologize, he just asked, "what do you want me to do about it?" He just kept telling us how qualified the chef was and that he's worked at restaurants for 20 years and he knows. Right. I'm sure the 1000 other restaurants we have ordered her well-done steak from got it wrong, this is the first restaurant that got it right. Somehow everyone else manages to serve us a steak with no pink that is still somewhat tender and juicy. The other food was pretty good, but the attitude from this guy alone is why I will not go back. It was the second time we had been stuck with him as our waiter and had a similar experience with his attitude last time. I don't give a damn if you used to work at the Captain Cook, it doesn't make you any better now ***Update: I've learned that Jay is no longer employed by yes! Now we can go give them another shot without being harassed. The management was very apologetic for Jays actions, and invited us in to give them another shot. We will gladly go now

I medically have to be gluten free and in this state it's difficult to find a decent meal for me. I ordered the coconut shrimp which they specially prepared for me and it was AMAZING!!! The veggies and rice served with the shrimp were equally delicious! Better yet they made me a cherry crumble for dessert (it was my birthday!) I felt very valued and the server was great. My families meals were also good. Their steaks were a little under seasoned but cooked correctly. A little sear on the yaki salmon would give it a bit more flavor but it was still very tasty and we will definitely be returning. Also their prices are very fair for anchorage.

First time here. We were immediately greeted by a host who asked how many in our party and after a brief conversation we were quickly seated as me and a fellow guest waited for the remainder of our group. Water and a bowl of complimentary fruit was given while we waited as well as a menu and we were notified that there was a brunch menu that went till 2 pm. The rest of our group trickled in so we drank coffee and talked till every one decided what they wanted. I had the Yes Bistro Burger. With thick cut fries. Ordered Med well which should leave a tiny bit of pink inside of i am correct. Half the group had an omelette or eggs and one person ordered the meatball sub. All dishes came out. Service was good, I have had better. My burger was well done and a bit dry. Not worth the price. Kriners does a way better one for less. I will give them another chance. I did like the service.

I wanted to like this place so badly, but despite the tasty food, it missed the mark to the point that we likely won't be back! We have held off in trying it for a long time due to mixed reviews. In our experience, the food tastes really good, but there are so many detractors from enjoying it. The service is either understaffed or undertrained. We were seated right way, but we waited too long for a server. We also waited too long for the food to be served and for drinks to be refilled. The food was cold when we received it, and there were inaccuracies in the order. To the server's credit, he was quite kind and responsive after the problems were identified. He worked to remedy them and treated us well. If the food temperature issues and service times were improved, the food taste would bring us back.

This place is in odd location in Anchorage. East side, across from Costco. It has beautiful interior decor, and has the appearance of being upscale and spendy. The food is fair , and has small portions for the price. Maybe good for a first date, or for dessert or a quick drink. They do have pizza as well if you don't want to get too fancy.

Friends and I have been to Yes Bistro a few times last year and then again this week. I love it in the summertime, as we can sit outdoors and enjoy the view of the mountains, soak up some sunshine and watch the traffic go by, which is not a nuisance as there is a huge green lawn which makes it pleasant. As last summer, this feast was marvelous! I had the seafood risotto which is superb! The sauce was delicious! My two friends shared a pizza and apple walnut salad that they loved. A couple glasses of champagne and a chandy, and it was a fantastic meal! Great service also by Katie! Oh! And it was less than $30.00 each for three of us! A deal!

Hi. I visited Yes Bistro for the first time with my husband. The gentlman at the door was enthusiastic and friendly. Our server, not so much. The lentil soup was delicious and the meatloaf dinner had a great presentation and good taste. the service we received was less than what I would expect at any restaraunt. Dropped our food off and didn't reappear until she put the check on the table... without any offer of dessert or even a pleasantry. This server is costing the restaraunt our business. Too bad, nice place...

Unfortunately this experience was underwhelming and dissatisfying and way over priced for the quality and taste of the food. My husband and I each ordered a shrimp scampi entree. The two were drastically different from each other. My husband's was a dark overly smokey sauce with undercooked noodles stuck together. Mine on the other hand was decent. The only thing we approved of was that the three pieces of shrimp we received was perfectly cooked. The rest of the meal was underwhelming, way over priced and and overall let down of a meal. There are many other restaurants in this city that will offer you much better quality and taste in their food with cheaper pricing. Also the service was a bunch of young kids with a lack of professionalism and knowledge about the menu and especially the bar menu. Definitely not worth it.

So I decided to take a few people there to celebrate a birthday - we all live nearby, so it was convenient. Great service right from the start - I mean the moment we walked in the door it was good. We were seated immediately, and I noticed the decor was modern and the entire place had a good "flow" to it - actually now that I think about it there weren't any straight lines in the design anywhere... It was nice. The server, Shawn, was OUTSTANDING from the beginning until the end. Prompt, polite, funny, attentive - and right on top of anything that needed to be done. Good drinks, nice selection, and quick. Appetizers were proportioned well, light but balanced and they were great. The food - We ordered a pizza, a couple of steaks - a few other things that I don't recall. What I remember was the steaks were perfect, well seasoned - the ribeye with the broccolini and potatoes was spot on, I remember someone having some rabbit ravioli that was tasty, and everybody enjoyed the food. The one thing that could have been a problem that wasn't (thanks to Shawn) was I bit into an olive pit (that wasn't supposed to be in whatever it was I was eating), and it hurt my tooth/gum a little - it happened right in front of Shawn the server, and he immediately took it to the chef, and they comped the whole dish for me. They were so quick, apologizing and willing to take care of the dish that it made a potential issue immediately smooth over. A wonderful time with good people, made great by outstanding food and top notch service.

I'll start by saying my husband got food poisoning from one of their entrees. But even if not for that awful result of eating at Yes Bistro, their menu is very small with limited options.

This place has a very modern and trendy atmosphere and the food is great. If you haven't been to this place recently please go check it out. Yes Bistro went through a phase where they were trying to find themselves, in the process, they added all these weird Asian menus that were so bad I can't find words to describe. However, they went back to basics in the past few months and the food is exquisite! My favorite meal is the Beef Stroganoff Ravioli.... It truly is the best pasta meal I've ever had in Anchorage, period. I'm actually salivating as I type this... So yeah.

Terrible does not accept restaurant.com gift certificates or Groupon so why even advertising it on those sites. Hope nobody goes there expecting to use it because they will walk out there disappointed and not to mention the staff there is rude saying that we shouldn't ask when supposedly it says it on the outside. Who cares your place sucks.

Although we went on Valentines Day, I don't think that was the problem. We have been to many places on busy nights and never had such horrible service. When we checked in the hostess took our name and didn't give an indication as to how long our wait would be. While we were waiting, a man sitting at the bar came to ask when they would be seated, he said "we' made a reservation but have been waiting a long time, we just want to eat". That should have been our cue to go. We finally went into the bar and after ten minutes was finally able to get someone's attention to order a drink. The beer glass had a huge chip in it but my husband said he waited long enough for this he wasn't waiting to get it replaced. I noticed the hostess kept seating people that were coming in the door but not coming to get us, so my husband went to remind here where we were. She said she was working on our table and it would be 10 or 15 minutes. We went back to wait by the entrance as not to be forgotten again. After a few minutes she informs us that the manager has seated another couple at our table and it will be another 10 to 15 minutes and she knows she said that before but she's sorry. After a 40 minute wait from the time of our reservation we are seated at a table. After sitting at our table for 15 minutes and had NO interaction with any staff even though they were attending the table around us, we decided to leave. I felt bad for all the people at the door and hoped they had a better experience. We drove to Spenard Roadhouse, that was equally as busy but had far and away better service. We wanted to love this place as the Open Table reviews were all good but it was one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever experienced. I can't leave a review on Open Table because I haven't received an email allowing me to to so, which I am to understand comes from the restaurant. Interesting....

The food was wonderful and service was great! We had the calamari appetizer that rivaled any of our favorite restaurants' calamari. It came with a spicy spicy dill aioli. Kevin had the ribs, not too sweet or spicy, not dry, cooked just right. His dish came with corn on the cob, seasoned polenta and coleslaw. I had the shrimp scampi. It had 4 or 5 huge shrimp. The sauce was sage cream sauce. It wasn't overly soupy, maybe a tad on the dry side, but I prefer it that way. I did order a side salad as my meal didn't include a vegetable. The homemade ranch dressing was yummy, but a little thin. We will definitely be back.

The wait staff was very nice and the ambience well done. We were given a large booth that could easily fit 6. The calamari appetizer was great however, my dinner was not what I expected, chicken cannelloni. I was offers another dish, I chose a dinner salad with citrus dressing I liked. We were given a free scoop of ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and a strawberry which was delicious.

Tried Yes Bistro today after hunting around Anchorage for some new restaurants to try and this came up on OpenTable. The menu is definitely mixed with pastas and pizzas and Asian wok stir fries and burgers and sandwiches. But a good option when dining with family with mixed tastes. I ordered the Beef with Black Mushrooms, which was okay - a tad under seasoned especially the mushrooms. The shredded duck (also on the Asian wok menu) was good although on the spicy side. The seafood chowder was really good so definitely worth getting. Service was really friendly but needed to pay more attention to details. Our waitress was very nice but forgot to bring my wife butter to go with the bread and did not clear the empty bread plate till the very end after we had paid the bill.

We had been here a few times before today....however, tonight, valentines day, was the worst valentines day I had experienced anywhere. From the moment we walked in to the grueling 40 minutes we waited with our finished dinner plates in front of us. The hostess had no idea what she was doing. There was a line of 2 other couples in front of us. For 15 minutes we all just stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge us at the very least. Finally, we were seated by a very pleasant lady. Told us our waters would be out in a few minutes. Two hours later...no waters. We were delivered wine about 20 minutes after our seating. Finished our wine about 30 minutes later with still no food or check in from our waitress. Our food arrived an hour into the reservation, which was at 7:30. So the time is now 8:30ish, our waitress had still not been by since she took our order. Finally at 9:10, our food was gone, plates still in front of us, drinks all gone, no water ever received, she asked if we were ok. My spouse said it has been over one hour since you have acknowledged us. She said I'm sorry let me do a discount on your check. She came back 5 minutes later and said don't worry about your food, I got it. We asked if she was sure. She replied, "it's my last night night working here its fine. What are they gonna do. Bitch fire me, please." We said ok and left...it was the lamest yet wierdest valentines day ever. Highly disappointing.

Trying to be fair on my reviews I thought it best to visit the YES a couple times before I sat down and put fingertips to keypad. So while I sat there on a nice sunny (September) day listening to some smooth Jazz while kicking back on their patio, I was contemplating my next move...oh yeah write a review and eat a burger! Last time I was here I ordered a burger with a request for no bun, unfortunately I have to maintain a Gluten Free Diet of sorts. The wait staff way very friendly suggesting the cook would be willing to substitute my bun for a pizza crust, which they have for one their pizza selection. That idea sounded good so I went for it. And was just that, a slice of crisp dough bake to perfect placed on both sides to give my burger a awesome funky twist. In fact, on my return this time I ordered up the same dish and was equally surprised. The large fries were great too. The atmosphere is great and then the waitstaff were very courteous, kind and accommodating. I have since recommend this place to many friend to try.

Yes Bistro is a pleasant and very welcome addition to the Russian Jack neighborhood, it took forever to build and finally open but is an awesome and with 'fusion-styled' takes on traditional dishes, such as 'Prime Rib Eggs Benedict' and "Roast Duck Eggs Benedict' on the Sunday Brunch Menu...OMFG!!!! The calamari is a delight, tender and perfect. If you like seafood and spice, try the Seafood Diablo, it's a huge dish, enough to feed two, and is full of flavor and seafood. The music is great and airy (bring your Shazzam) and I like how the booth's can make your meal more 'private and exclusive'.....it does cost a little more but is soooo heavenly ;)

I really enjoy the food experiences here. The lunch and dinner menus are different and change periodically. I love the lunch menu meatloaf. It's my favorite--those brussel sprouts are amazing. Another quality feature or this bistro is the service. Decor is nice and very bistro like. Sometimes hard to tell if other patrons are about...it's got a great feel for keeping groups of friends together. It's on the east side but very worth visiting.

I have no clue how this place got such high reviews. I sat with no waiter or water for ten minutes. Finally placed an order for soup and salad, waited another 25 minutes for my order, with both soups and salad arriving at the same time. The soup was cold as ice, as was as the steak on my salad. No one ever came back to check on me and when he finally did, didn't bother to ask why the soup cup was still full. I had to request to have it taken off the bill and the server never apologized or asked to replace it. And btw...$18 for a steak salad with no more than two ounces of steak and some burnt-up lettuce. Terrible! Plus...there was hardly anyone in the joint. I'm on expense people, you just blew the opportunity for future dinners with clients and fat tips.

Interesting menu - lots of variation in food options. A little on the high side but a very nice restaurant with great decor and friendly staff. Personally recommend the calamari starter and the pork chop with banana & brussel sprout entree! The pizzas are huge - definitely to split.

I was impressed with brunch. I ordered eggs scrambled soft and these are the best eggs I have ever had. My brother had the Loco Moco and the rice and gravy was very flavorful. My niece had the red velvet waffles and they also were good. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, and I will definitely be back.

Me and my girlfriend decided to try this place out. The atmosphere was exceptional and really enjoyed it considering where it's located in Anchorage. The clientele was... a little odd but the staff were very nice. I had the Pacifica Pizza and my gf had the Kobe Burger with a side of French Onion Soup for lunch. The lunch prices were a little steep but not unreasonable. The pizza was by far the best! The burger was good too but we were not impressed with the soup. We wanted to try a dessert but $8 was a little much for us considering what was being served. The wait time was pretty long to get our food, drinks, and check but I realize the restaurant is pretty new so I won't scrutinize too much. I imagine their dinner menu is very expensive but I am willing to go back and give it a shot. Again, the pizza was phenomenal! :)

It hurts to say this, but I've experienced better pizza crust from the freezer in the supermarket. (Especially since I had pizza there less than a year ago and it was the best I'd ever had.) I don't know how to explain the wide variation, but this time it was about 1/4 inch thick, hard and rubbery. Maybe old dough? It hadn't been cut all the way through, and when I tried to serve myself, it was obvious why! (The concerned server asked if I wanted her to take it back and have it cooked more!!) Having nothing good to say about the food, let me say my server was attentive and personable, hence the 2 stars . I doubt if I will go back. $15 is a lot to pay for dreck. The picture below bears no resemblance to what I was served!

After what seemed like the longest build-out I've witnessed in town, YES! finally opened recently. My friend and I went on a summer afternoon for lunch. The inside is very cute but we opted for the outside seating. Debarr road traffic is a little loud but not bad. The menu was some what limited, virtually no vegetarian options. I thought the prices were on the high side for the quality. I got the "fish" tacos and friend got king salmon kabobs. My tacos were ok but not $18 ok. Friend liked her kabobs but there was a decorative sauce that was VERY hot. So hot it about ruined the meal. The menu didn't mention it. As a consolation, the waiter comped a chocolate mousse dessert which was ok but appreciated. Was excited to have something interesting on the Eastside but wasn't impressed with my first visit. I'll give it one more try.

Fish and chips were pretty good, well presented. Two pizzas were ordered, the margherita and pacifica. Pacifica was especially delicious. I feel its a little overpriced at many entrees from $24-28 each but then again I havent seen or had them. Pizzas @ $13-15 (fish n chips too) is a great deal. While a student at UAA I often went to birchtree for breakfast aftrr commuting. Walking into Yes! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Incredible change you have to see for yourself. Maybe most important solid beer selection with $6 pints of many local brews. Would like to see those @ $5, especially the Chuli stout! Will go back, and for the area easily the most upscale thing going.

I'm still loving this restaurant. I noticed a couple of things listed wrong on yelp. They do accept credit cards, they have outdoor seating on sunny days, and it is fairly wheelchair accessible -well at least it's flat. We brought my mother-in-law here with her walker and it worked out just fine. Tables for a an actual wheelchair might need to be re-arranged a little.

Dinner tonight was a hit! A hundred dollar hit , but probably worth it. Our meal began with 907 greens salads. My blue cheese dressing was obviously house made and had big chunks of pungent fromage. The mix of vegetables was fresh, flavorful, and crisp. For dinner I chose the special lamb shank with mint chocolate demiglace. The plate was rounded out with mashed potatoes, and artichokes with roasted tomatoes. I was concerned when the meal arrived because the food appeared to be swimming in sauce. I felt better cutting into the fork tender shank and great after the first bite. The lamb was delicious and well complemented by the flavor of the sides. The demiglace wasn't overwhelming even with its liberal application, and it still had plenty of subtle tastes to please my palette. My wife chose the gaucho ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The steak, ordered medium rare, was slightly over done, but had great flavor and a nice char. It had a slightly acrid heat (perhaps from a smoked chili?) and a complex blend of spices. It was garnished with a tapenade that embellished the steak flavor without covering it. The broccolini was al dente and still crisp and the potatoes were smooth and garlicky. This was our second visit to Yes, and after an unremarkable lunch on our first visit it was their last chance to keep us as customers. They delivered and we'll visit again!

This review is based on one experience close to a year ago (06/14/2013). Now having said that most places, especially restaurants, experience growing pains. The food was bland at least and the conversation amongst the staff was unprofessional and questionable. However, I am willing to give this place a second chance considering I drive past it several times a week.

As with other reviews I agree its a nice looking place but the food falls short. There seems to be a burger issue here. I ordered mine medium well but as I cut it in half blood filled the plate getting bun and fires soggy. The center of the burger was undercooked but the rest was overcooked. Flavor was bland and uninteresting, the wedge fries were good though.

The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered crab cake appetizers- they arrived with a dip, and polenta. Slightly spicy, they were deicious. Solid burger and fries, and the pizza was affordabley priced, reasonably sized, and not greasy. The smoked salmon flatbread was also a good choice. The interior was very well done, and a detail so often overlooked in Anchorage restaurants- acoustically the place wasn't too loud, even though busy. And there's a nice bar, this place rocks!

Great food, very tasty. Had the Copper River salmon blt and the boyfriend had the fish and chips. Was worth waiting for the construction to be done.

First of all the place is overpriced, which can be ok once in a while if the food is exceptional. Save your money people because the food is downright nasty. I had the steak sandwhich, it was served on a totally soggy focaccia bread the flavors were not pleasing. The Mr. had the bistro burger served medium... The flavors were off, the burger was on a soggy wet bun and was cooked unevenly...Rare on one quadrant and well done in the other. I normally would have sent my food back in this case except I had bought a dealsaver/groupon of sorts and I knew I would never be back so I just sucked it up ate the salad which was good except I didn't like the gingerbread candy croutons. I came home and had a piece of cold pizza from Pizza Amore which is really awsome and called it a day. NO STARS WOULD HAVE BEEN MOST APPROPRIATE....PS I heard the manager getting after employees about how to serve soup and salad prior to entrees so beware you may get your soup, salad, entree and dessert at the same time... Service was exceptionally slow for an empty restaurant

My co-worker and I stopped in for lunch. Service was very slow. It was so slow it took them 50min to bring our lunch and then we had to get a doggie bag!

Finally! Something different!! Great bistro style pizza, made w/ REAL WHOLE MILK MOZZARELLA! Steak was cooked to perfection! Beautiful atmosphere! Friendly & very attentive service! I highly recommend going with the Chef's Special, whatever it may be, because their Head Chef DEF knows what he's doing!! Loved every minute of it, overall incredible dining experience!

Food is delicious, but the prices are a little spendy for their simplicity. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Went in for lunch, but it would be fun for a dinner date too!

2.5-3 star. Good menu with creative choices for east Anchorage. Very nice setting and modern decor. Went there for lunch and the Moroccan game hen was under cooked. Wine list was decent. Downtown prices for east Anchorage experience. A little too pricey. I remember when it was Phillips International inn and I had a similar experience back then.. The competition is Denny's and the Sweet Pink Pepper, but for what we paid it should have been better. Some staff reminded me of Denny's. The acoustics were such that we could hear the gossiping in the huddle near the front. The music was too loud and Reminded me of a Kenny G fest. The wait staff was great and lived up to the prices, but the food was not that great. Not really a bistro experience and the remnants of a former homeless camp that were piled next to the parking lot was not a good look.

My wife an I had dinner here tonight. The halibut was excellent, the service was very good and the waiter was very attentive and gave us a lot of information about the area. Although the prices are not cheep they were in a normal range for a restaurant of this type. Very attractively decorated, booths that gave you privacy and nice quiet background music. Will go back to try there pizza.

Amazing!!!by far the best bistro in Alaska! From the presentation of the food, to the selection on the menu! I didn't know meat loaf could taste and look so good!!!!

I'd been meaning to try this place out for awhile, and was especially excited since it's fairly close to home. Have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely, the decor is beautiful, but I definitely got the impression they were trying to be a fancier place than they are. Much of the food was overpriced, we had to wait longer than necessary to be seated (as in, there were plenty of open tables and plenty of staff around, they just seemed to wander by quite a few times before finally stopping to bring us to our table). My husband ordered the Margherita pizza, which was pretty good (and one of the only not overpriced items) but not amazing. I ordered the berry caesar w/ chicken, and did not care for it. The dressing had a weird flavor, the salad over all was not great (especially for that price), the only good part of it was that the chicken was cooked & spiced well. The server was a bit snooty about some of the selections too, giving my sister a hard time about wanting to order a simple pizza rather than one of their fancy selections. Overall, I don't think I'll be going back, unless a friend INSISTS on meeting there...and if that happens, I will definitely try ordering something else. Who knows, maybe the sandwiches are the best part of the menu.

I attended the soft opening last week and while it seems they are still working out some of kinks, overall I think it really has potential. The waitstaff were really focused on the customers and had a solid knowledge of the menu. The lunch menu had enough choices that the lactose intolerant, gluten allergic and vegetarian among our group of 6 could still find satisfying options. The food while presented beautifully , was lacking a little in flavor. Almost every person at the table needed to add salt and there were several comments about the grease or food being too heavy for a lunch menu. I think that in time, with some tweaks to the menu and preparation, these things will work themselves out this has the potential to be a fantastic little neighborhood bar and grill.
