Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Good place first time here and didn't leave hungry...I ate here for lunch because I had craving for Mongolian grill but tried some of the Chinese buffet and everything I had was really good. I would give it 5 stars but it's hard to give a Mongolian style joint 5 stars so I settled for 4 Great value!

I like the Mongolian BBQ here. The choices are good and so are the sauces. The buffet food is not the best, but the doughnuts are great. Good salad bar selection as well. I like that it is convenient to my neighborhood, and a good choice over delivery or fast food when I don't feel like cooking.

Like others have said before me the Mongolian bbq side food is way better than the Chinese buffet side. Unfortunately, you have to wait quite a while to get your bowl cooked for Mongolian bbq. It is good, but you have to wait and it's about 40-60 sec per person in front of you. We were there on Friday night and there was only 1 cook doing the Mongolian, they should really have 2! I wouldn't waste too much stomach space on the buffet on the other side, but just get a few items while you wait for the Mongolian and you have to stay in line or your bowl might get pushed to the side. Try to go early to avoid the wait.

Look I know first impression of a restaurant can make or break a deal but this place is something special. So get past the look from the outside and quite frankly get past the decor on the inside. I'm not talking about their buffet because let's be honest a buffet is a buffet is buffet down and dirty flavorless food to feed the masses but their seasoned grill and the chef who operates it is a beautiful thing. They make all of the food in front of you to your taste specifically, so if you post something about it being flavorless that's because you didn't order it correctly and that's on you not them.

Second and last visit for me. The mongolian bbq was ok, nothing special. The chinese buffet is gross and would not replenish nearly empty pans, which I think they should considering Im paying $16.95 per person. Staff were too busy strategically rearranging and spreading the food in the buffet to make it look fuller instead of refilling our drinks. Another issue is the cold soup, one type of soup (egg drop) in a small bowl. Other Chinese restaurants in the area serve at least two types of soups and it is in the buffet line. I do NOT recommend this place. 2 stars for the mongolian bbq, no star for the Chinese food.

Mongolian Barbecue was excellent! Would've been nice if two were cooking for quicker service but it was worth waiting for. I'm not a buffet person so I didn't try it but definitely going back for Mongolian Barbecue. Would've gave it a better rating if it was a cleaner environment, don't get me wrong it wasn't obviously dirty just needs an extra good spring cleaning like all places. Maybe it was the lighting, it seemed too dark.

Without a doubt this was the worst food we ate in Alaska. I don't expect a Chinese buffet to be top notch dining but this was barely edible. On the plus side, the staff were very nice but that's where the positivity ends here. The Mongolian sauce (which you don't put on yourself) just tasted like vegetable oil, no flavor added there. Just terrible food all around.

I always drive past this place, so I was finally able to give it a try. I love Mongolian BBQ and theirs is pretty decent. The only thing I didn't really like was that their noodles are different from the typical Mongolian BBQ noodles. The ones here taste almost like spaghetti noodles. I like the thick yellow noodles. The one thing I did appreciate was the sauces. I went with the Szechuan sauce, extra spicy with their garlic sauce. So bomb! It's all you can eat so no need to pack your bowls tight. They have the typically meats and veggies you find at any other Mongolian BBQ spot. However, they also have another buffet section with appetizers such as cream cheese wontons, kimchi and chicken wings. You'll definitely leave here full. Not bad for $12.99 for lunch and $14.99 for dinner!

Twin Dragons is a legendary Anchorage eatery that has a wonderful selection of meats, vegetables and starches to offer it's customers. The Twin Dragons "jingle" still loops in my head and is as recognizable to the locals as to visitors. The food is hot and fresh and prepared by a friendly, smiling staff that is very helpful. Great place for dinner!

There was a lot of hype about this place before I tried it so maybe my expectations were a little too high for it but comparing it to other Mongolian BBQ places I've been to this one is par at best I wasn't that impressed with food selection or quality I'm not saying don't go there but definitely don't set your expectations too high when you go in it won't be my first choice but I'll probably go there again under the right circumstances

This was our first visit, typical for Mongolian BBQ. The BBQ was good, the Chinese buffet was limited - but typical for this type of restaurant. We were meeting family so it was perfect for us to eat and catch up.

A little nostalgia. Lived nearby a decade ago and ate here quite a bit. Somehow it came up in conversation and my kids wanted to try. Food is NOT high end by any means. Only one or two stars for the buffet Chinese. But the Mongolian BBQ was exactly as I remembered. Personally probably should be a four star in my book, but don't want to mislead anyone into thinking its fancy food. Atmosphere is dark and a tad dingy...same as it was a decade ago. But for $15 all you can eat, it's pretty dang good. Kids were happy, and they ate two bowls which half was fresh vegetables. How can you complain. A tip I learned a long time ago is to tell them to take it easy on the soy sauce. You can always add it later and at least in the past, I suspect they loaded up the food with soy sauce so it's too salty to eat much. Not a bad strategy for an all you can eat place. I recommend, but don't be expecting any high end cuisine but it's quite edible and filling!!

Revisited Twin Dragon. Still love the made-to-order Mongolian grill, but my goodness the buffet is sheer crap. Steer clear of that garbage and enjoy the make your own!
(4)Kirsten F.
My husband and I got a dinner from the menu before and it wasn't that good. But, we went today and got the buffet and bbq, and it was pretty good! Some of the buffet food wasn't very warm/hot but it tasted great. The guy who said something about the MSG head ache: my mom asked about MSG because she's allergic and they said they have no MSG in their food. And I don't know if I'd call their prices "dirt cheap" . . .
(4)Brandon H.
One of the lesser satisfying buffets in my very honest opinion and add to that $50 and some odd change for 3 people and a baby was not crackin, I mean twin dragon crackin whatever that means. Try an alternative by all means.

I've been reading some positive reviews recently about this place, and I'v been anxious to try it. Two friends and I decided to give it a go, and we were pleasantly surprised. Okay, it's not the type of high end place that I usually gravitate towards, but for its type, it is definitely four star. There's something for everyone here. I noticed a variety of clientele from all walks of life. One price of $14.99 gets you all you can eat of both the buffet and the build your own stir fry that they cook for you. If you have a particular palate, there is plenty of quality fare on the buffet tables to choose from. I love authentic Kim Chi and the owner herself makes the best I've had in a very long time! I ate a whole plate of the stuff! Fresh, spicy, and full of ginger and garlic just how I love it. I had a generous portion of peel and eat shrimp that were larger than I expected, and my stir fry was very good. This place has been in business under the same owner for 21 years with a staff that's very friendly. My friends and I will definitely be back!

Decently priced, self-serve Mongolian and cheap-looking Chinese food. $15 gets you all you can eat, but quite honesty I wasn't happy when I left. Food quality was not good. The Chinese section looks like takeout and the deserts are Kirkland Signature (Costco) products. Mongolian section looked freshly frozen... Came here for dinner with my girl, within a few minutes I'm finishing her first bowl. Made her sick. Fortunately, service is nice. We explained her dissatisfaction and the waitress waived her fee. Though I initially liked it, I did feel less-than-stellar an hour after. Honestly can't say I will be coming back.

A friend from work turned me onto the marvelous world of Mongolian BBQ. I have to say I have never been disappointed when I have eaten here. The owners are extremely friendly, service is great and you're treated more like a family member coming over for dinner as opposed to simply a customer. Our church members love to go there as a group and it's always a treat when we say let's head to Twin Dragon!!!

All you can eat Mongolian BBQ was just what I was looking for. A healthy and quick choice. Service was fast.

My family and I went to eat here on October 2 and it was a big mistake. The buffet was embarrassing! I only ate one thing from the buffet line and it was some shrimp with a red sauce and zucchini. The soap was good and I kept asking for more and my 2 year old would only eat the soup she wouldn't eat anything else. I tried to get food from the BBQ table and the tongs were dirty and to be honest I don't think the customers should've been touching them the servers of the resturant should be dishing that in your bowl! I put chicken in my bowl with the noodles and zucchini and he cooked it on the table. When I was walking back to the table it went to smell the food and it did not smell right at all. It had a very distinct smell. I took one bite and I couldn't eat it. My husband who is a pet crematory tech smelled it and said that smells like dead dog! I ended up getting very sick after and my husband said he wasn't feeling well either.

The Mongolian BBQ was ok had better, but the buffet was almost nothing. They should just be a Mongolian BBQ place, because that's pretty much all that's worth it there and that's not saying much.
(3)Lucille S.
Buffet was terrible. Make your own was probably much better. The owners are very, very nice.

Went here with my girlfriend later in the day when it was pretty much empty. She had the BBQ, and I had the buffet. The guy rushed her BBQ when she was the only one in line and it was under cooked. I had the buffet. The sesame chicken had little to no flavor at all and it tasted like it had been there all day. The sweet and sour chicken was the same. It was luke warm, and there were chewy little knots - like a tendon or something was in the chicken. And the sweet and sour sauce had like a skin on top, similar to when tomato soup is left out too long. It made me lose my appetite. The shrimp tempura was cold as well. All of the desserts were store bought from a bakery at Fred Meyers or Costco. The cooks did not replace food that has been sitting there all day with fresh food that tastes, you know, good. Overall, I was very disappointed in my visit You want Mongolian BBQ? Go to Ding How. Much better there. They are cheaper, and much better quality food.

Twin Dragon is right up the road from where I live so when I don't feel like cooking it's an easy alternative. The staff is really friendly and their BBQ is really good. I am also addicted to their sesame chicken even though it puts me in a major food coma. If you are looking for a fast and easy place to eat I recommend Twin Dragon.

My husband and I are huge fans of the Mongolian BBQ. The buffet that comes with it is so, so, but that's not the point of our visit (though the cut up Twinkies and Zingers on the dessert buffet make me smile). We introduced my parents to the idea of making your own bowls, etc and they are still talking about it. Go for the BBQ, grab a plate or two from the buffet. You won't be sorry.

Best Asian god in town. Great service with excellent Buffett and BBQ for a low price can't beat that.
(4)Josh S.
I love this place, the service is good and the food is awesome. The Mongolian BBQ is excellent and you also get a buffet for a decent price. One of the best places for Asian food in Anchorage.
(5)Monica D.
Tasty Mongolian beef...scary buffet.
(3)Marty R.
One of my favorite lunch time spots. Always Hot and fresh with super friendly service!
(4)Jay C.
Love this place. You pick whatever you want the chef to cook Mongolian BBQ-style, and pick your sauces. Great way to get in those veggies... Went to a Mongolian BBQ Outside over Christmas, and Twin Dragon was much better in comparison. Service is consistently good and friendly. They seem to be trying out new dishes for the buffet lately...not bad...

Smells delish! A friend from Fairbanks wanted to eat here. So being the obliging hosts we are off we go! Food was good! for $14.00 you can get all you can eat. I asked them to make mine SPICY and he did. The BBQ part was cooked very well even the veggies were cooked all the way through, and the meat was cooked perfectly. I checked out the buffet and it looked appetizing. But all i got was a big plate of Kimche. My husband got the General Tao chicken and said it was tasty as well. For 14 bucks you cant go wrong. Everyone in the place walked out looking full (you know that look, because you've made it before) and with smiles on their faces. Give it a shot on one of those days where you have few dollars and are VERY hungry! good food for the price. :)

Good price and good service for AYCE. The Mongolian BBQ is good. You don't have to mix your own sauces like other Mongolian BBQ places which, some people might not like it. But that's totally fine with me since I always have trouble getting it right. There are 4 different types of sauce mixes (mild, regular, teriyaki, spicy). I went for the spicy one and it was good. 3 choices of meat to choose from (chicken, beef, pork). I wish they have lamb. Or do they offer lamb at dinner time??? correct me if i'm wrong. Minus one star-where is my lamb??? Minus another star-buffet was so so...., soup was cold and bland. Just go for the Mongolian BBQ and ignore the buffet.

I have been here quite a few times with my boyfriend and the lady that greets us always remembers where we sit and what we drink and have it ready for us before we even sit down. Great service and food. Would recommend to anyone.

If you live in Anchorage and have a television in your house.. YOU KNOW the jingle.... Twin Dragon... Mongolion Barbeque! Can we cook up something... fresh just for you. I'll spare you the rest. LOL.. Good food, as much as you want.... The same employees from 2001. It's obviously a family run restaurant. Excellent egg drop soup. Decent prices, although we've refrained from going lately because for 2 kids and 2 adults it was like $60.00. My 10 year old doesn't eat enough to charge $11 for her meal. So... a group of adults.. good place to go. For a family, a tad bit pricey.

Surprisingly decent Chinese buffet food. I've been by 3 times so far, and the quality is consistent. Because they have decided on pre-set sauces, it makes it easier to make a good dish from the ingredients provided. Many Mongolian BBQ places allow you to make your own sauces from a large array of ingredients, but because you don't know the concentrations, it's easy to make a terrible tasting sauce. For those who know what I am talking about, the cut if the meat on the Chinese food is more correct than most Americanized restaurants.
(4)Jonathan H.
Ive been there 3 times and I have been pretty happy so far and expect more of the same in the future. There is a fair bit of diversity in the food and the bbq is great. Lots of deep fried stuff but also have a salad bar and other dishes that arent as greasy. Deserts are crap but most asian buffets have crappy deserts. I'll go back again.
(4)Brandon B.
This buffet was good, not great. Not that the food was bad, just not a lot of choices. One small bar. The BBQ chicken wings were great though. We did try the Mongolian grill, not overly impressed but again not bad either. They use pre-selected sauce choices. I'm used to places like HuHot where you make your own sauce combos and I prefer that, way more flavorful! Overall not a bad place to try.
(3)Jaz N.
We ate here 10/11/10 for dinner. The food was good. I've been to a lot of Mongolian grills (this was my first in Anchorage), so I was a little disappointed by the selection and the fact that you only have 4 pre-made sauces to choose from. The quality of food was good though. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was nice. If you eat a lot, this is a good deal though, because you get both the Chinese buffet (good- had your typical Chinese buffet stuff) and the Mongolian grill buffet style in the cost. Since I don't eat enough to make a buffet worth it, I found the $14 each cost a little too pricey for us.
(3)Blurr B.
awesome deal! 12 dollar all you can eat lunch!! the chinese food in the buffet was really good with a lot of options, plus the make your own mongolian grill. left here stuffed with good food!
