Salmon bacon, best hollandaise. Thought id be driving there, but it was an easy walk from our downtown hotel. AMAZING. Staff was awesome, place was great. Will be back multiple times this week.

This place has some good things going for it- a more adventuresome food menu with a lot of local, organic options. It has a recent, hipster atmosphere/art/decor that Anchorage is sorely in need of (sometimes). I can only take 1980s AK decor for so long. I like that they seem to serve breakfast all day... but I didn't like the fact that they handed me two separate menus and a verbal list of items they were out of stock on. I had the Turkey and Brie sandwich, and received massive amounts of meat and cheese goodness. Some notes- the kitchen closes an hour before they actually close up shop. I find that kinda weird and a little bit lazy. Is this just a Sunday thing? Their layout is very exposed, and although the place was nearly empty, we got put at table near the service station and bathroom... not the most charming place to seat someone. I'll come back; I want this place to do well and they did good enough to earn a second chance visit.

Funky fresh café in the much neglected downtown fringe. Service was fantastic for our lunch visit. Despite the lunch hour, we were tempted by the breakfast offerings. I had the breakfast burrito, and it was huge, and fantastic. A just right blend of sausage, potato and egg with a nice smoky salsa... yeah, it's downright delicious, and filling! I think the price point is a little higher than surrounding establishments but I think the higher quality is worth it. If you work on the east end of the downtown scene, or are at the Sheraton, it is definitely worth a stop in. Plenty of free parking... we pulled up right in front of the door.

Gotta say it has been a while since we've eaten here but I am slightly disappointed and the magic here is lost. We've always wondered what makes the "red chair" in the restaurant so special. Well today I actually got to sit on the red chair....nothing special happens....at all. It's just there for show really. I think it has alot of potential to be so much more like maybe a free coffee or something. Other than that is just another chair in the room. Today I had a different quiche. It was tomato, basil, and bacon) and while it was very tasty, it seemed to have been over cooked. By the way their quiche are fantastic but today's was just a bit over. My biggest peeve was the $3.50 for 3 little spears of asparagus. That's a bit overpriced for 3 measly spears in my opinion. That is the price of a side gone terribly wrong. The waitresses are very nice but everything is just disorganized now. I had a coupon from the northern lights book and they don't even know how to properly use it...and then they forget to use it. So what is this book good for if I can't even use my coupons because they forgot to put it in? We still thoroughly enjoy our food here but the magic has faded and the price for the asparagus is unreasonable. End of rant.

I absolutely loved this place. We went there for lunch during the week. We were greeted and sat right away. The decor is very artsy and creates an enjoyable ambience. But what really took me for surprise was the menu. It had many "classic" dishes, but almost everything had something creative about it. It took me a while to order. There were so many items I wanted. I had the Cubano sandwich and was amazed. My friend had the pulled pork eggs bennie. His was outstanding as well. It was nice to still have a breakfast menu offered at 2pm. Great wine and beer selection and the service was friendly and professional. I will definitely be going back to check out everything on the menu.

We ordered the following Kale Bake (vinegar notes-delish none the less) Daily Quiche (filling, decent slice) Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes (meh, I had high expectations) Skyline Chicken Sandwich w/Salad (where's the Cajun?!) Service was 5/5! Fantastic customer service, staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, the pancakes tasted like poopy seed muffins; unfortunately we did not get enough lemon. Daily quiche was savory and very filling. The kale bake was Devine! Skyline sandwich was good but I paid an extra .75c to make it Cajun and again that flavor was no where to be tasted. The overall ambiance was a hipster/upscale feel. I will return and suggest visiting here with a group or a date etc. also- their wine and beer list was a wide selection for those that favor dark reds or woody drafts vs fruity whites and apple sweet ciders. OH- AND ALL THEIR SALAD DRESSINGS ARE HOMEMADE! I had the miso and it was goooood! Also check out their baked goods, dark chocolate red wine cookies and they are sold in a pack of 4 for $8.

I want to like this place, but every time I order take-out my food is always missing something. Also, the food isn't great for the price. My last order was the lemon poppy seed pancakes. The bacon tasted like it had been freezer burned, there was no butter or syrup in the box, and the cakes were average at best. I would be upset if I didn't have a coupon and had to pay full price. I will be skipping this place in the future.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the recent reviews here. The service is an unorganized mess. It's really bad. It's very frustrating. I walked in here, stood by the "wait to be seated" sign. A server asked me what I'd like...I said "I'd like to be seated?" I was seated, she gave me a water and said she'd be right back to get my drink order. She never returned. She then went to attend to another table, and sat two more tables. And gave the other tables coffee. I'm still sitting there, dreary-eyed, with my water. Then another server came out! And...took the orders of the other two tables that had arrived after me. Some 15 minutes later, a third server came out and FINALLY took my order. I guess there was an invisibility potion in my toothpaste, it must've finally worn off! To her credit she was really nice. I got the pablano pepper, kudos to them for having such a unique breakfast entrée! It was good. The "steampunk" potatoes were just ok. I really wanted them to be crispier. I also think this place really, really needs free WiFi. It has a distinctly "cool coffee shop" vibe, but...no WiFi? Seriously? There are 20+ WiFi networks in the vicinity but none of them belong to them. Would've made the last 15 minutes of the invisibility potion a bit more bearable.

Interesting joint. A little incongruous with the attached lodging business, but I was game when a friend invited me to join him. The surroundings were nice, and the service even nicer. I had some tea and a biscuit. Lots of hot water for my tea, and good homemade jam for my biscuit. Not too sweet...just the way I like it. Lets the flavor of the fruit come through. Kale Bake not my cup of tea. Just some veggies cooked together and a couple of eggs on top. On the watery side. If I were the chef, I would have wilted the veggies, cracked two eggs on top, and thrown in the oven. Sorry...amateur chef in me coming out.

Great ambiance and service. Great coffee. Food lacks technique. Ordered French toast and veggie omelette with bacon. Bacon arrived very overcooked, crumbly, and inedible-fell apart and shattered like glass it was so crispy. They brought more and it was undercooked- the fat was not cooked. The French toast was dry, not fluffy or moist-seems they maybe left out the egg yoke and didn't use any milk. The ambiance doesn't make up for the food. Won't be back...Okay, might go back for the killer coffee!!!!

Very yummy fresh, made with care food, friendly service and cozy steam punk atmosphere. Kind of on the outskirts of the tourist area but just a hop from the Sheraton. No idea why some not-too-positive Yelp reviews. Locals must have off taste. They recommended Humpy's which was awful and are not impressed with Red Chair, but I think they are wrong! This place is lovely and tasty! Baked French Toast delicious as was Tatsumena Benedict.

Okay 4 stars for dinner- 3 for breakfast. Dinner the app brussel sprouts spectacular. I got something healthy and veggie or vegan... and it was earthy as stated. I wasnt a fan... but I like ordering the oddest thing on the menu. Everyone else in my party ordered burgers pasta etc--- and it was all REALLY GOOD! The vibe is big city urban and I love it, Breakfast- okay. Every breakfast review is competing with Snow City so the bar is really FRIGGEN HIGH. I had poppy seed pancakes with scrambled eggs and a side of the asparagus. Asked for salsa and they told me it would be 50 cents- I dont care but my hubby was irritated. Like I have said in the past I seek a taste experience and if it is GREAT then the price is right know matter what it is. Portions of asparagus so small... was advertised as grilled with onions and almonds but this just looked grilled. Poppy seed pancakes were yum but didnt meet my hype. Wanted more syrup- but packed them up for rewarming with maple syrup I have at home. Hubby got steak black bean pepitos omelet. It was okay - tasted to healthy for my man. Steak was tough :( THE SWEET POTATO side is YUM YUM!! He is a "eat everything guy" and he didn't feel like eating more once he satisfied morning hunger. Keep going to try the "hidden rose" which has not been there yet. Gonna keep trying till I try this little oddity!! Wanna try Almond french toast next time...

I loved this place. Met up with a friend for breakfast here the other day. The atmosphere is wonderful and quaint. The people are beyond nice. We ordered hazelnut almond milk lattés (they have rice, soy and almond milk) and it was amazing. Not overly charged like you would be at most places. I also got their steam punk potatoes and their house made peach jam with an English muffin-- so delicious. My friend got their lemon poppy seed pancakes. I tried a bite and I was blown away. Again, great prices and amazing food. Also our waiter looked and acted like Norman bates which was an odd but added bonus.

Service was terrible. We ordered our food, then about 20 minutes later, the server came back to inform my husband that the had ran out of the poppy seed pancakes...and I understand that things happen. I was fine until I got my quiche. It was burnt so bad, I couldn't eat the crust. I told the server. And he informed me that he would let the cook know. He didn't even apologize. And when we paid the bill. He acted insulted and would not speak to us. I WILL NEVER BE BACK!

This breakfast was amazing. Best we have had in Anchorage! The Orange and Almond Baked French Toast was so good! Like a bread budding for breakfast. Lemon poppyseed pancakes were all yummy.

Yes, this place us usually understaffed, but the staff that are working are always polite and seem to be doing their best. The food is delicious. My fiancé and I go for brunch frequently and split the pulled pork benedict, which is delicious! The americanos taste great too. The rotating art on the wall and atmosphere make this place cozy and fun.

I am struggling with how many stars to give this restaurant. I would The food has been good. I had their Beef Hoagie with Gorgonzola, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic. My complaint about the food would be the steampunk potatoes were deep fried and unexciting to me. The portion was about right maybe a little be stingy on the sides. The service was where we ran into issues. They were super attentive up front and faded to nothing after we got our order. It was strange they couldn't leave us alone up until they got our order and then disappeared. I feel that this comes from the waitstaff being young. They need a mature mentor or something to bring the discourse up and refine their manner a bit. We would have liked refills on our water and one of our party wanted to add something to the order but never got a chance. Both times I have been here the food has been a long time coming. So if you choose this place expect to wait and bring good company. The first time was shortly after they opened and Mothers Day so I thought it was the exception. This last time there wasn't any discernible reason for the delay. The prices and quality are fine. Overall I would give them another chance and just remember not to be in a hurry or starving, but I don't think I can convince the girlfriend to go back.

Yelp, you failed me. Grabbed brunch here and was super excited due to the high Yelp reviews. Boy, was I disappointed. The staff was nice enough and the decor was interesting and different, for Anchorage. There's a gravel parking lot if there isn't any street parking available. The coffee they use is a blend of coffee from Costco (really?!) and some other mixes (we opted to grab coffee at a nearby Kaladi instead). I ordered the almond crusted french toast with bacon. It was $12/13 for 3 slices of sandwich bread with almond sprinkled on top of it. It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't worth the amount they charged. The other dishes we ordered were the smokehouse eggs benedict and fire-roasted poblano pepper. Both were okay, but much better than the french toast. However, none was memorable. I liked the salmon on the eggs bene and the peppery taste on the poblano pepper. I just don't think The Red Chair Cafe is quite there yet.

Rustic hipster atmosphere with young staff, natural and seems to be hand made food that is fairly innovative, yet simple and keeps it familiar. I come here twice a week for lunch, but I'm sure dinner is just as good. My sandwich, salad, with coffee for lunch runs me $10 with tip so it's affordable.

The Red Chair Café has steam punk décor style/feel to it. The food is good and I like the monthly art auctions done by different artists to raise money and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association here in Anchorage.

What a fantastic place!! This reminds me of a place by my old hood. Very urban style setting with local artists displayed all around. The first time I came here, my partner in crime and I were on a quest to find the best cupcake in town ( we have not yet concluded this quest btw) . I picked up a lovely red velvet cup cake that ended up being quite delicious. it was then, I had the pleasure of meeting the chef ( this was before they were open for dinner). I tell you what a lovely being. I love to meet people that are truly in love with what they do. That can talk about ingredients like an art curator would talk about the Mona Lisa. The food is just amazing. There is not one bad item on the menu. My favorite "brunch" item, by which I have been floored is the quiche. Possibly the best quiche I have had so far in my life. I shall be back to try more and more of their creations. Absolutely lovely!

Great Café/restaurant on the outskirts of downtown - inventive dinner menu with a great price point for what you get in Alaska. All dinner entrees have good serving sizes with great ingredients and are $16-27. The menu also changes frequently, so as a local I really appreciate the variety. Desserts are homemade and delicious. Good beer and wine menu add value as well. In the few times I have been I've had tastes of: prosciutto rock-fish, crab cakes, banana bread, won-ton app, French toast and eggs benedict. As a side note - brunch isn't quite as good as Snow City but I think it is the next best alternative to waiting 2 hours for a table. Will definitely continue to eat at Red Chair.

Delicious food and excellent service with uniquely wonderful ambiance to match. The attractive staff doesn't hurt either. We ordered traditional eggs Benedict & veggie omelettes and both were great. I've got to disagree with the guy that said their bacon is terrible - it's definitely not!! They bake it instead of fry it, which makes it much crispier while allowing a lot of the fat to cook off. I much prefer it this way but I suppose some don't. Wish I could give them 6 stars! If I had another day in Anchorage I'd definitely be back. If this place was located a little more centrally, they would surely be sharing the Snow City crowd.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Nice atmosphere with local art displayed and sort of shabby chic decor. Upon entrance we were greeted and told to sit anywhere. It took almost 5 minutes to be greeted by our server. I ordered the fanciful BLT and my wife got the turkey sandwich. The food was delicious-in addition to bacon, my sandwich also had prosciutto. It was quite tasty. I would have given five stars except the service needs improvement. Our server visited our table 3 times- once to take our order, once to bring food, and once to drop the check. We ran out of water and didn't see our server in the floor for 10 minutes.

Promising place. I heard a coworker mention impressive reviews. I hopped on Yelp to see for myself. Lots of 4 and 5 star reviews. I'd have to see for myself. So...a late breakfast/early lunch was in order. I'm not a fan of the word 'brunch', but I guess it applies. Sue me for not sounding like a grandmother. The place is away from downtown, which is just fine with me. The decor inside is well-lit and funky, which is swell. At this hour of the day in the offseason, there were plenty of empty tables, though a sign on a pole informed me to "Please wait to be seated." Sure thing. I was then told to "sit where I'd like". Okay, sure. Several menus printed on sheets of paper were laid out on the table in front of me: Breakfast, Lunch, Desserts and a Beer/Wine list, with a smaller placard for "specialty cocktails". It's 10am on a Tuesday morning, but whatever. I'll have a glass of water. Thusly quenched, I scanned the menus. A past photo of the Red Chair menu posted here indicated an oatmeal dish that sounded promising. This, plus something else sounded good. "Oh, we don't serve the oatmeal any longer" came the server's reply. He also told me the soup of the day, one of the sides offered with the entire lunch menu "wasn't prepared yet." Well...fiddlesticks. I had my heart on a bowl of something warm and satisfying. So I kept looking. Finally, the "Hair of the Dog" or whatever it was called, sounded appealing--biscuits and gravy. I ordered a side of scrambled eggs to go with them. The food came about 10 minutes later. Any longer and I would have inquired as to what the delay was about--because they didn't seem busy. However, the biscuits and gravy were hot and quite nice looking. The two scrambled eggs served on a small white plate looked rather forlorn in comparison, so I dumped 'em on the puddle of gravy encircling the two biscuits so they could be friends. The biscuits and gravy were very good--helped along by a drizzle of thick, dark maple whiskey glaze. The biscuits themselves were dense and fresh--just a little dry perhaps. I think if the cook were to have split the biscuits in two before ladling on the gravy the biscuits would have been even more appealing. Regardless, the dish was tasty. The scrambled eggs acted like tofu in that they were soon drenched in the gravy, thus soaking up the flavor of the dish. Now my gripe: I'm not sure paying $15.50 for two biscuits, gravy and two scrambled eggs is a very good value. Slice off 5 or so bucks and it would have made me feel I was getting a very good value. As it was, I didn't. That goes for most every other dish on the menu. I know this is Anchorage--I get it. Everything has to come from someplace far away. But I wasn't quite eating items that were as perishable as arugula or crimini mushrooms. The service was fine, though not exceptional. Perhaps I was paying for the bright lights and quirky decor. I'll try something different next time to see if the prices justify the food. But I will return only because what I had tasted good. See for yourself. Then Yelp about it.

Good place for a nice soup and salad for lunch Downtown. Asparagus soup was what we both got perfect for a cold day. I had the Turkey Cranberry Brie sandwich and my daughter had 'The Lizzy'. 1/2 Sandwich & Soup hit the spot. Really cool atmosphere. Service was attentive and friendly. Will be back with the wife.

We went here on a Friday night. The staff was wonderful. The pomegranate saketini was very subtle and delicious. It was one of the best mixed drinks I've ever ordered. We ordered the Reuben. The pastrami was wonderful but the sandwich was a little bland overall. The chocolate mousse was... Awesome. I liked the house fries. The chocolate wasn't too overwhelming you could still taste the underlying flavors and the whipped cream with the freshly ground nutmeg was just perfect. The welding on the tables was very pretty and I couldn't stop staring at the walls. I love the open industrial feel with the warmth of the wood tables and leather chairs. I will definitely go back there in the future.

This place was awesome for a late afternoon lunch. If I'm in the area again this will be on my list! I had the Sinister salad w/ their house made Miso Vinaigrette dressing. I could eat that salad everyday with all those great flavors in it!!!! It was OUTSTANDING. The sweet potato fries were also very tasty. The cafe is so, so cute and cozy. I could spend hours in there since they have free Wifi.

I really liked the atmosphere and their menu. The restaurant is steampunk themed. We went for breakfast. They had a great variety for breakfast including several options for Benedict lovers. Their steampunk potatoes were awesome and consisted of white potatoes, sweet potatoes and onions sautéed. I would have loved to have time to go back to try their lemon poppyseed pancakes. The only reason I gave them three stars was that their customer service sucked. We had to wait 20 minutes to place our order in the nearly empty restaurant while the waiter played on his phone. After we ate we waited half an hour for our check and never got it. Despite the waiter clearly noticing that we finished a long time ago. We were never checked on or asked if we needed anything else. Our plates were never cleared. We finally had to approach the counter and ask for our check.

Service here is horrible people seem they don't know what they're doing when it comes to serving their food. One gentleman seem to be in charge but then seems frustrated and angry towards anybody who asked questions about food. The one man also got angry with other coworkers for trying to help out when the coworkers were in the right. Also never been to a place where employees do nothing but complain about the employers . I am never going back and highly recommend people don't come here. The Red chair is a place where I will tell people not to go.

Went to lunch there today with a friend. It was packed and we thought the service was fine. Waiter got to us quickly and from start to finish was just under an hour including adding dessert after he brought the check. We were playing a game to see if our water glasses ever got more than 2 inches below the top of the glass- just barely made it one time. LOL! Most places I go to, I get two drinks so I don't have to go thirsty. This was not a problem here. My friend got one of the Benedicts, and it looked tasty- plenty of food there. I got the soup and a half sandwich and I was totally full. Don't know if it was the extra water or the fact that there was tons of meat on the fancy BLT, but I usually eat a whole sandwich and salad at other places to get as full. The soup was really good and the sandwich was almost as good as Snow City's which I think has the best sandwiches downtown. I rank this sandwich on par with the Brown Bag. Then, dessert happened. Wow. I told my friend that I would be back if for nothing more than the spice whoopie pie. It was a spice, molasses cookie sandwich and the filling wasn't too sweet and was creamier than most whoopie pies I've had. I wished I'd only eaten half of it when I was done - so full - but it was too tasty to not eat it all. All in all, good downtown place with enough interesting things on the menu to make me want to go back a few times. We had no trouble with the service, so maybe it depends on the day or which waiter you get? Will see how it goes next time.

Just as good as Snow City, but didn't have the 20 minute minimum wait time on a weekend morning. In fact there was no wait at all, open tables! I had the Toasted Almond French Toast, three large pieces, very nice with honey butter and maple syrup. Three pieces of perfectly crisp thick sliced bacon with it and I was full. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and pricing, while high, was not out of line for downtown Anchorage. I'm looking forward to trying Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict, and I'll probably also have lunch or dinner there.

Nice addition the the starved anchorage food scene. Healthy menu and lots to choose from. Ambiance is great, jazz music playing over the sound system was cool. Daughter says the burger was the best in Anchorage.

Had breakfast here with my partner on Boxing Day and had a very good meal. The decor is artsy yet cozy and understated. I had The Machine and opted for the asparagus with almonds instead of the potatoes. All of it was very tasty. My partner enjoyed the stuffed poblano. Natasha, our server, was very attentive and seemed to have worked there a while. I mentioned that I had a friend who worked nearby and she gave me some to go menus to give to her - a nice touch. I will come here again to try the other items on the menu. I like that the cuisine is creative but restrained - you won't get gobs of food dumped on your plate. I am excited to have another place to dine in the downtown area. This new establishment is definitely worth a try!

Though I like the atmopshere, location, and many of the menu items, I've come to the conclusion that this is not the place to go for a quick lunch. The kitchen is always slow, so today we tried just ordering soups and salads, figuring that simple order shouldn't take too long. Forty-five minutes later, we got our lukewarm soup at the same time as our salads. Our server was friendly, and we enjoyed our salads and agreed the soup would be delicious if served hot. I just have to remember to only go there when time is not a factor and I'm not especially hungry.

Friendly hipster staff in a fresh pop art atmosphere that is sure to be a must see on First Fridays. It also appears to be setup for live music, or so I hope. The coffee was good and the food was a bit fancier take on breakfast than other area cafes with reasonable prices.

Great concept, decent food. Service was awkward and slow. I think once they work out the kinks it will be great! Had the stuffed portobello--very good. Coworker had the gritty pancakes, but they looked a bit anemic. Stuffed poblano would've been better hot. Seems like our waitress forgot about our food. I'll give 'em another try in a few months...

YAAY! A new downtown breakfast/lunch place. It's a winner. Interesting menu items (including vegetarian options), fresh and affordable. Friendly staff too. The decor is very fun and includes local artists. Dine in or carry out. Did I mention cupcakes??

I Went to the Red Chair for breakfast while on a road trip up from Seward. This was our second time here so I knew what I wanted and that was the Fire Roast Poblano Pepper (yes this is a breakfast dish) and to my disappointment they were out of that. What?! So I did what anyone in there right mind should do, swallowed my pride, bite my tongue and just order something else. Okay, I must admit, when I get my mind set on something I like to stick to it and I don't like change, even though I have no choice in the matter. So I pondered in the choices and since I had to start changing my life style to conform with the difficulties in my gut, in other word (shhhhhhh) Gluten-Free. I had notice a dish that indicated as such, the " Oven Roasted Kale Bake". I thought to my self, okay Dano you told yourself you need to go GF so let do this thing! So I did, and it was awesome, the eclectic variety of edible delights combined a taste sensation. Wow did I actually just write that? What can I say it was good and GF or not I will be coming back here for more. So, I must say of the two dishes that I had they both rate high marks from me. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff was polite and prompt with my order and my drinks. I like it, a lot!

Tried the stuffed poblano pepper today...the food was tasty and I will go back if the service improves. I had to ask for ketchup for my potatoes, and only half of my toast order came out; the second half came out unbuttered after I was finished with my meal. I also had to ask for the peach jam which I had ordered. The server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed and there was definitely miscommunication going on between the bakery counter staff, the servers, and the kitchen. Hopefully these bugs will get worked out. I would like to try it again when it is not busy and the minimal serving staff is not stretched so thin.

A new cafe, and even they have admitted that they're still experimenting, but the results so far have been pretty promising. The venue is a little out of the way, but inside it is a good combination of cafe and restaurant, and the decor is a fun cross of graffiti and industrial/modern art. It's almost a game to look around and see where they've worked their theme into the space. The food is gourmet without being pretentious, delicious, and I've haven't yet walked away without feeling comfortably full (maybe even more). Step outside the comfort zone, and I'd bet you won't regret.

I am always on the look out for new restaurants that take pride in what they serve. The chef at the red chair has found a way to translate his love of fresh, local ingredients into some if the most unique dishes I have found in anchorage. The traditional eggs Benedict are cooked to perfection and covered in a velvety hollandaise accompanied by steam punk potatoes and grilled asparagus ! I would have licked my plate clean if it wasn't unladylike :) !

Came here with my husband and father in law. We made a reservation and we were seated immediately. We had to flag down someone to get our waiter to come take our order. He didn't tell us his name, didn't make eye contact. after he took our order we didn't see him until our food came out. Had to flag down people again to bring us condiments. Then our waiter came back and asked if we wanted the check so we can go. I was still eating and I found that extremely rude and unprofessional. Did not ask if we wanted anything else or how our food was. The food itself was alright I had an omlet. My husband had the smoked turkey sandwich which he enjoyed but said was too small for the price. Overall I will not be eating here again the service was just the worst I've experienced since moving here to anchorage.

The food was outstanding a big variety of breakfast & lunch items for the people with various dietary concerns! Steampunk style atmosphere with the staff just wearing the traditional serving black. Staff was friendly and did well, but if you are in a hurry this may not be the place to eat before a movie. The food is prepared and presented very very well for a restaurant this size, but it doesn't come out McDonalds fast. That's because good food takes time!

Great breakfast and coffee! Location right off downtown is a nice walk, but the food is well worth it. Really enjoyed the asparagus instead of the steampunk potatoes. Others got the stuffed pepper, oatmeal, and gritty cakes - everyone was very happy! If Snow City is booked - don't wait - head here!

I came here a couple times to try it as it's been on the scene for a few months. The inside is very hipster and industrial with decent art for sale. The first time I came here it was slow with only a couple of tables. The second time it was filled to the gills and we got one of the last tables until someone checked out. I ordered the tropical tuna sandwich and the quinoa grain salad as the side for $ 11.50. I found the arugula really bitter and overwhelming, and couldn't taste or see much of the tuna salad. The sprouted beans in the salad very bitter too. The next time I came in I ordered the Garden Stroll with the Mediterranean pasta salad special for $10.50. The arugula didn't overwhelm the sandwich this time, and the pasta was pretty decent. It's a nice atmosphere, and I could see myself enjoying a glass of wine here some evening, if that's what they do, but I don't see myself frequenting this unless a coworker suggests. If you look at both of my photos you'll note the amount of arugula green in the sandwich suggesting it is the main ingredient. I wonder if they have any other green besides arugula?

Stopped in during the Iditarod with about five others to warm up and have a quick bite to eat. Loved the "Red Chair" theme going on and my sandwich was good, although the Bread could have been a tiny bit fresher. My dad had a fried bologna sandwich that was yummy!

Food 4 stars. Had the savory omelette, very tasty. Service 2 stars. Very inattentive and slow. I found myself constantly having to wave my waiter down to get any service.

If you like spending $15 on lunch, waiting 30 minutes for a cup of lukewarm soup and leaving hungry, this is the place for you. Terrible service (empty water glass, took forever, server never checked back, told me the soy du hour was tomato...it was potato) but really cool ambiance.

Just had our first visit to Red Chair Cafe and loved it. The stuffed poblano pepper was fantastic and the mocha was amazing. They played great tunes and have created a real nice vibe. The location is a bit off the beaten path, so it was low key and not crowded. I hope the crowds find it so we can enjoy it for years to come.

Terrific food, great menu, friendly staff. And I think they bake the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted. All of their cookies are amazing! Very happy this cafe has opened in Anchorage.

Split a spinach salad with my husband that was so fresh you could literally taste each Wonderful ingredient. Had the chicken for my main course which was pared with spinach and mushrooms, I was in heaven. We plan to come back tomorrow for breakfast.

Don't waste your time on this joint. Spent 35 mins waiting for my lunch and waitress never bothered to check on me after taking my order. Bus guy filled my water glass 5 times but my food never showed up. Had to leave WITHOUT lunch to get back to work. What a waste of my time!! I'd give them no stars if I could...

I went to the Red Chair for lunch a couple days ago and ordered myself the executive melt with the soup which i might add was amazing because of its creaminess. This was my first time here and boy was it amazing! It is a very urban style setting which I love, however the music was a little loud. The barista made me a fantastic latte(i love the heart she added into it!) and the server was very polite! I will be dreaming of that sandwich and will definitely be back!

Been there twice now. Each time I was lucky to find parking. The baked goods are great and they are the reason that I have risked getting towed to come back. The rest of the menu looks good but as I said before parking sucks so I just get something to go. I don't like their coffee. They should use K Bay, Steam Dot or Cafe Del Mundo. If I am ever lucky enough to snag a parking spot I will sit down for a meal because they do a great job with the baked goods and the menu looks great. If they can fix the parking and coffee issues I would easily give them two more stars.

Just had the quiche and believe it truly is the best I have had. I will be back. Close to Sheraton airline crews!

Great new place right outside of downtown anchorage. Tried breakfast and it was good. Different than the norm. Atmosphere was good if you like steam punk so it is an acquired taste. Food got out a little slow and bathroom could have been a little nicer so I deducted a star.

The food is phenomenal! Service is horrible as well as the wait. Been trying this place for 6 months or so because it is walking distance from my shop and the food is soooo good! However, in that time they have only gotten my order correct twice. I've waited up to an hour for a 10min pickup order to them forgetting food with my order and then charging me full price with tip included! It's a a shame cause the atmosphere as well as the food is great! Employees are friendly too! Management has no idea how to run a business and until they do l will not be returning. I gave it 6 months and multiple tries! Hope this helps!

Ordered a side of quinoa and got about 3oz in a condiment container. Also it took 20 minutes to get a cold, disintegrating pita.
