This is the 3rd time that I have eaten here and third time is not a charm...ordered a steak this time and it was sub-par and unevenly cooked and now I have painful stomach cramps..My husband ordered a different steak and he said it tasted like a day old re-cooked steak very dry and flavorless...he doused it with steak sauce. .I don't think I will be eating here anymore...I know of another person who got sick after eating here not too long ago, as well. We always get a great steak (excellent flavor and quality cut) at Lone Star and that is where we will go, the next time we want a steak!

First, I will start off by saying this is the second time I've gone to a Texas Roadhouse. The other was in Union City, California... But it made no difference. Both locations were amazing beyond all doubt. The waitresses were on point the whole time, and as a party of two, we were seated immediately and began feasting on buckets of peanuts. And let me tell you, I love me some nuts. The bread? Holy smokes. I could probably go there just to eat the bread. The bread of the gods, I tell you. The boneless buffalo wings for appetizers were fabulous. Thought I don't think buffaloes actually have wings? I could be wrong. I had grilled chicken and sirloin steak, and both of them were exquisitely cooked. The absolute perfection of the meat and their final product cannot be stated enough; it was glorious. Only gripe is that by the end of my visit my water glass was filled to the brim with ice and barely got any water in it. Sad times, but I managed to perservere. Overall 10/10, would recommend highly to acquaintances who have never been there. And the waitresses and waiters line danced randomly, that was... Interesting.

It ain't always perfect but it's a chain restaurant so I don't expect it to be. My food is always hot and well cooked. My server is sometimes nice. Last time I was there to sit down, the waitress was rude to just me. My husband noticed it and so did our friend. Hell, my 4 year old picked up on it. Evidently, at some point, I killed this woman's whole family and I plumb forgot about doing so. My bad, lady. Anyway, besides that and a couple long waits for food, we don't hate eating here. We always have a decent time despite a few kinks in service. I'd say statistically we have a 50/50 shot of getting a great waiter or waitress and those odds aren't bad considering what they get paid. I mean...they live on tips, right? I'd be downright ornery sometimes, too. Then again I'd try not to take it out on my customers. To each their own. Not my circus...not my monkeys. But I digress. If you want stupid good food, go to a gourmet restaurant. If you want decent food at a decent price with decent service, come here. Won't always be perfect but you won't leave hungry. If you're a foodie, stop coming to places like this and writing mean reviews when they don't kiss your ass or give you solid gold truffles filled with the tears of unicorns and orphaned children. Be realistic. "My steak wasn't exactly the temperature I ordered." Yeah well the cook in the back who made your precious steak didn't go to culinary school in France...eat your damn steak, you big baby.

I have been to a lot of Texas Roadhouses in a few states and have never been disappointed! I am glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews for this location, we have gone a couple times and never had problems with service or the food. I also don't think people should rate a restaurant after one time, no restaurant is ever perfect every time.

The food was good, nothing out of the ordinary, but the service was unacceptable. After waiting over an hour for our food, not a single plate at our table of four was correct. Also, multiple times our drinks were forgotten while being refilled. The restaurant does have a good feel and decor but it very crowded and loud.

Went here again for dinner last night and still think its good. I wasn't as hungry this time so I just had the pulled pork dinner. It came with steamed broccoli and carrots, mash potatoes with the works, and the pulled pork. It was good, tasted like pulled pork, and wasn't to dry or to greasy. Rolls as usual for the bomb! I only ate a little bit and took most of it home. Had the leftovers today and it was still just as good. My son had the special which was a 12 ounce ribeye with shrimp on a skewer, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. He said his steak was very good. We went later this time...around 6:00pm instead of 4:00 and the place was packed. WE used the call ahead seating thing, and were seated immediately when we arrived with our confirmation number. We had an 18 month old baby with us, so we were hoping for speed (as anyone with a young child knows....hanging out too long waiting for food can spell disaster! ) She loved the rolls and I swear inhaled one. Dinner came very quickly so we plunked her in a booster seat and she went to town on her dinner. The place was very loud so when she got frustrated and started screaming you could barely notice with all the other noise in the building. Overall I would say this place is pretty kid/family friendly and the food is pretty decent.

As a person from Texas we get a laugh when it comes to this Kentucky based restaurant founded in Indianapolis. From the country music blaring to the staff line dancing there are just a couple things that aren't "Texas" but you can't beat the food or the entertainment. I've been to serval location of Texas Roadhouse and they all are good! The Anchorage local is great! Staff is ultra friendly and really attentive. The menu offers a couple of things other locations in the lower 48 don't. More of local flare. What I notice about the Texas Roadhouse up here in AK is no one throws their peanut shells on the floor. Why? I even got a couple of dirty looks from people for doing it. Texas Roadhouse is a great meal and a good time!

Went here for the first time last night, the place was packed. We still were seated right away and had prompt service, food was excellent and surprisingly large portions. All 3 of us were stuffed and still took home leftovers, I was pleasantly surprised as I don't normally love chain restaurants. We will definitely be back to Texas road house

2nd time here at the new south side location... Very impressed. Last time I came with husband and son- everyone that was working was so happy and friendly. Got our food really fast. Came today to eat by myself and bring takeout to the hubby, everyone is just as happy and nice. Food is awesome- love the bread and butter, chili is really good and pulled pork sandwich is the best. Will probably come back in another week or two.

Great atmosphere and service. Blah food. My ribs lacked flavor. Not spicy, not sweet, not a dry rub, not wet, no smokey flavor whatsoever, and a little on the dry side. The rest of the food was not bad; not good, but I could make better at home. Steak was thin. You will get that quantity or quality American dining experience.. You will get that overly full uncomfortable feeling. I won't go back unless someone else is buying.
If you are going to go to a Texas Roadhouse here in Alaska you need to go to this one. The staff is super friendly, food is very good, and they keep it very clean. Every time we have gone to this one we have had no complains.

This restaurant has potential. I ordered ribs three times. The first time they were tender, moist, flavorful and a generous size. I was immediately a fan. This is what I was looking for in Anchorage. The second time the portion was small and the ribs were dry. The third time I ordered ribs I got a generous portion of ribs, but the meat was so tough and dry it was almost inedible. I see the potential for excellent ribs but the quality control is absent. I ask your help to order ribs and be critical with feedback so the management takes appropriate action to insure the ribs are what they are intended to be, fall of the bone moist ribs, as advertised. Until consistency is obtained, I give 2 stars but look forward to the day we can give 5 stars. They certainly have the potential to achieve 5 star. By the way, their chili is excellent.

I am extremely frustrated with this place. I'm so frustrated that I'm writing this as I'm still seated in the restaurant. We ordered our food at 8:30pm. It came at 9:15pm. 45 minutes! My order was wrong. I ordered veggies with no butter, and I got veggies with butter. I ordered chicken with no sauce and it came out with sauce. I sent the chicken back and they quickly gave my chicken with no sauce but cold! Ridiculous!

Not bad for a chain restaurant. They have lots of televisions so you can see the games while you eat. The staff were very attentive refilling drinks and clearing plates quickly. We ordered a chicken critters (strips), a burger and the 1/2 a chicken. We all enjoyed the entrees and had leftovers. Our only complaint is that the green beans were kind of mushy. It's a pretty good family restaurant and I would probably return just for the peanuts and the rolls.

This place was packed! It was a good thing we called in 30-45 min. early to get our name on the list. I was hopeful since a few people I talked to liked this place. As I walked in, it reminded me of how the old Lone Star use to be, loud music and peanut shells all over the floor. My son was entertained by the giant barrel of peanuts in the waiting room, which I think filled him up before dinner. When we were seated, I could have a nice conversation with anyone across the table. I had to yell to be heard by my company! We ordered the fried pickles to start. SO SALTY. They just tasted like salty chips - no pickle taste. The bread they start you off is great - sweet rolls with a cinnamon butter. I should have just ate this for dinner since this was one of the highlights of my meal! I ordered the chicken and ribs with a side of buttered corn and a loaded baked potato (cost 99 cents extra). My chicken and ribs were lukewarm. In fact, all our main dishes were lukewarm. Disappointing. The BBQ sauce was mediocre, nothing fabulous. I wish I had some Stubbs BBQ sauce to pour over it! There are other places in town to get better BBQ than this. The ribs were moist but lacked flavor. Not only were all our main dishes lukewarm, mine wasn't the only one that tasted plain and nothing special. My company had ribs, and steaks. The steak was cooked to the right temp though. My chicken wing was burnt to a crisp and I couldn't even eat through it. I did enjoy my loaded baked potato which was butter, sour cream, bacon bits, and cheddar cheese. That came out piping hot and wasn't dry. The buttered corn had a weird taste. Corn from a can tasted better than what they were serving. It was a lot of food - we did go home with leftovers and I did re-bake my leftover chicken with some Stubbs BBQ sauce - it tasted so much better! I might be generous giving 2 stars to Texas Roadhouse...but I did enjoy the bread, my potato, and the server did do her job. My guests also really enjoyed the peanuts. This is not a place I would return. Service was fine, but it was just mediocre food and it's too loud to enjoy chatting with your company. They do line dance here and there during your dinner.

Very very mediocre meal. The onion flower was alright and the bread basket was tasty once we finally got it since the hostess forgot it. For my main course I got the Serloin and shrimp combo with a Caesar salad and fries and everything was very low quality. It tasted like they went extremely overboard on the salt on everything, the fries had way too much salt, the shrimp had way too much salt, even the steak had a solid layer of salt on it. My dad loves salt and even he said it was too much. The only thing that didn't have too much salt was the salad but even that tasted like it was from a grocery store. There are so many great restaurants in Anchorage to get steak (Sullivan's, Haute quarter grill, Ginger, Brewhouse just to name a few) so don't even waste your time on this place. Very below average meal, would not recommend.

There was 14 of us. Knowing large groups can be hard for a restaurant, I've allowed for some lag and erros but.... I'm not going to go into everything that was not right with our meal. I'll just say order the corn. It was warm, and not overcooked.

HORRIBLE. Tonight was my husband and my first - and last - visit to this place. The wait was not long to be sat, but once seated we waited another 20 minutes before anyone came over. We ordered drinks, appetizer, and food, and I made the comment that we never received bread. Our waiter told us that it was not ready yet.. As the table being seated next to us were sat and served fresh bread. I pointed them out and he made a show of getting our bread. About 15 minutes later, we did not have any drinks, not even the water we asked for. We caught the attention of a hostess and she brought us water, and our drinks arrived. A few minutes later so did our salad, which was pretty good. Our food arrived, but our appetizer was still not there. Our waiter came by to see how it was and I mentioned that our fried pickles were not there, and he got agitated and went to find them. They were served after we were already into our meal and were soggy and cool. The meal was not impressive. The steak was ok, but our green beans were literally SWIMMING in butter and were not edible. The grilled shrimp was not good either, so my husband only ate his steak. It was a horrible experience. We agree that we will never eat here again. Our waiter barely helped us; the salad, drinks, and meals were brought by other people and he only served us bread and the late appetizer. When he did speak to us, he was very rushed and impatient. Food was ok, but not worth the amount that we spent. The manager heard about the late appetizer and took it off of our ticket, but we were very disappointed in the experience and unfortunately would not recommend this place to our friends.

My co-worker offered to get me a takeout salad from the Texas Roadhouse in the strip mall near Old Seward and Dimond Blvd. He said he like the grilled chicken salad with Italian dressing. I expected something similar to a Caesar salad. The first thing that went wrong was the price $12 for a takeout box salad. Then there was a plastic cup of bacon. Eww. At least that was on the side and I gave it to my co-worker. I poured some of the dressing on the salad and stopped. It was gritty gasoline- bloop in a Honey-dijon 'flavor'. This is nothing like the oil-and-vinegar with herbs I was expecting. I next noticed the greasy Cubbison croutons and picked those out. Hard-boiled egg on a grilled chicken salad? Ok- at least I like hard-boiled egg. Not this egg, though- it was some creepy flavorless souffléd egg-like product. Gross. What's this waxy white stuff? Grated "cheese"? Picked that out too. Finally I was down to lettuce, 6 red onion rings and a piece of grilled chicken. I bit into a piece of chicken. The grill marks were caramel coloring with a chemical smoke-flavoring. The next bite was freezer-burned and I didn't go any further with that. I had no dressing to put on the lettuce so that was pretty tasteless. After all that the 6 rings of red onions tasted amazing. Only $2 a ring for those onions!!!

Well, when they first opened in the fall of 2014, we decided to try them out. My girlfriend and I were greeted by a very bubbly and enthusiastic wait staff and seated after about 15 minutes... Bearing in mind that it was a Friday night and it was very busy. We placed our orders and after about 25 minutes, our food finally arrived. Crisp salads and oven hot rolls were very good, but the entrées were a whole different matter. I had ordered a full rack of ribs and a baked potato while my girlfriend had ordered a steak and baked potato. The ribs were very dried out, and very bland as far as for flavoring. My girlfriend steak was ordered medium rare and came well done. we spoke to a manager who probably have them sent back to the kitchen to be redone. Her steak arrived almost raw and slightly browned on the outside. My ribs had just a little bit of extra barbecue sauce added to them... We again sent her steak back to the kitchen for a third time before they could get it half way right. We ate our meals and left. We figured that the kitchen staff was new as they had just opened and decided to wait about eight months or so to try them again. We couldn't have been more wrong. We decided to give them a try in June 2015. My girlfriend and I and her folks arrived and were promptly seated by a gracious waitstaff and our orders were taken. When our meals arrived, two of the steaks that were ordered weren't even close to being what had been asked for. A medium steak arrived cold in the center bleeding profusely and slightly browned on the outside, while the other one that was ordered medium rare arrived well done. They were again sent back to the kitchen and we're return approximately 15 minutes later. The steak that was ordered medium rare arrived extremely rare slightly browned on the outside and cold in the center. The other steak had been cooked sufficiently enough to eat. We spoke to a very apologetic manager and explained that this was our second trip back and again they had a long way to go before getting it right. We further stated that we would not be returning ever again. I had ordered a second margarita that the waiter never even bothered to bring to the table. Definitely not the way to get back returning customers! If they had a half star I could probably give them that but it definitely didn't deserve even a full star!

Me and my fiancé were there for the first time last Sunday Feb 22nd for dinner around 730pm. Right when we were seated there were empty peanut shells in a bucket. Our waitress was nice but forgot our drinks; we got them close to when our food came out. They overcooked my fiancé's steak, which was also comped by the manager, who was also very nice. Yet the one thing that bugged us the most were the staff chatting on the side for the entire time we were there, while on the clock, with people who may have been employees off the clock or just friends, at a table next to us. One employee in particular named Crystal was not doing her job. She cleaned 2 tables the whole time we were there. The rest of time she was was using her hours to have conversation and taste the food. It made us feel as if the rest of the service was like that. Definitely not our best first experience. We probably will never be going back again.
