Ok so I know people compare this to subway but really it seems like the food is fresher, and at this location the staff is really awesome. Seriously best food service from a fast foodish place in Anchorage. The manager must pay these kids well, I hope they do because they certainly deserve it. Have been on days where they're super busy and they still remain friendly and efficient. Really like all the options, you can make really healthy choices that taste good here.

Awesome food and great service! This was my first time here and I am very impressed. I had the "local". Very tasty. The staff is very friendly & provides excellent service. The veggies & fixins are fresh. The meat was grilled just right. I will definitely eat here again.

Tasty, healthy, and fast - Pita Pit delivers. I love the lean grilled chicken in a wheat pita with all the veggies and feta! Tess is a veggie so she goes for the falafel which always pleases.

Update: The owner contacted me directly when he read I was frustrated about delivery times. He explained the issue that they had, and he went out of his way to make it right. I was impressed by his involvement in his business, and his willingness to make a customer happy. I will definitely resume regular ordering for me and my staff. Thanks!

We went here for lunch today and boy was that a great idea. It was basically like the Chipotle concept but with Pita bread! Pick your protein, veggies and sauce and they wrap it up like a burrito. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and the staff was super friendly! The guy that was at the grill was easy on the eyes so it made my dining experience even better. I wish we had a Pita Pit in California!

Some days, their food is fine; but half the time, their vegetables are clearly nearing the ends of their lives. The morning glory wrap is usually safe, but I've given up on their "fresh" options after one too many mouthfuls of soggy lettuce and funky cucumbers.

First time customer. Think Subway meets Taco Del Mar, kinda, with a grill option. Clean place, nicely decorated, and as others have said very friendly staff. The ordering is reverse of subway though: In this case you pay first then go down the line for assembly, so that takes a bit of getting used to. I also had a bit of trouble understanding the server with her accent, but that's where a good attitude makes all the difference. Her attitude is the difference maker. I had a very pleasant experience here. I'll be back. I'll recommend this place to others. The pita is opened, stuffed then wrapped like a burrito...you gotta see it. My order was as delicious as the food was fresh, and the grilled-in-front-of-you meat, veggies and cheese option it's a nice, tasty touch.

I have read that this is the highest grossing Pita Pit franchise in America. I have no interest in reading through SEC filings to verify this claim, but I could believe that it's true. People love this place, and it's always hoppin, even during off peak lunch hours. They don't skimp on the veggies and sauces, they're friendly, and they're fast. No complaints from me either. I choose the Pit over Subway, Quiznos, and all the other "healthier fast food" joints any day. I personally go for the Gyro more often than not, double meat, cuz I ain't scared.

Is the staff paid to be as friendly as they are? they are just so friendly here. One cashier once told me, you look very lovely today and I though woah....ok, a little over the top, but still blushed and shied away, grinning. I always get the chicken souvlaki on wheat. I go here about 3 times a month, always after a 2nd job shift, when I'm starving. The pita completely fills me up, I'm satisfied and enjoy the flavors of the tender chicken, tzatziki and assorted cold veggies. It doesn't feel entirely fast food-ish and I don't worry about it being horribly caloric, because frankly, it's not! It's just a healthy alternative to subway when you're a walking zombie until you get food in your stomach. I noticed they added siracha sauce as an option and I wonder is that's due to customer feedback, which I think is fantastic, if so. Great place for a healthier meal on the go.

Love this place! My fave is the chicken soulvaki pita. I get mine with cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese and a drizzle of the tomato pesto sauce. So bomb! The meat is cooked fresh. Great place to stop by for something healthy. Lines can sometimes seem long but they move super fast. Be sure to get a rewards card! For every 90 points you get a free pita! :) I forgot to also mention that they can do salads instead of pita as well! Great spot for lunch!

For fast healthier food, this place is one of my favorites in town. I like the upbeat atmosphere, the friendly folks, and the food. I usually get either a falafel or gyro pita, sometimes salad. There's something in there tzatziki that I find really appealing...addictive, actually. I find myself craving it from time to time. With the exception of their regularly gross-looking tomatoes, their produce is fresh and adds to the pitas. The one thing that isn't good there is the soup--tastes like soup out of a bag, very very salty, no matter the kind. But that's not what I crave there, so I don't care. I'll keep going back for my fix.

I was visiting from out of town looking for something fresh and fulfilling. I searched for pitas on yelp and this location came up. I searched out to find it and so glad that I did. I explained it was my first time there. Staff was very polite and helpful. Also let my try one of the sauces before adding it to my pita. The veggies were fresh and very tasty. One of the best pitas I've had!

I really like this place, so yay, I'm a fan! I came in here after walking away dejectedly from ACS in search of a new screen protector that they were out of. I have never been here before because it's always been so packed, but this time was definitely manageable. I ordered the Hummus Pita and walked away, not realizing it's like subway and you have to walk the pita down the line to add stuff. I got the spinach, tomatoes, avocado spread, onions, green peppers, sprouts, banana peppers, and some grilled veggies. The spread is hummus and the sauce tzaziki, though the sign said tahini. No biggie. It was pretty tasty. The best part about the whole experience was every staff member was extremely nice. I will definitely come again.

Completely satisfied! Fresh ingredients, military discount, outdoor seating for dogs, and very friendly and courteous employees - keep up the good work guys! Thank you Pita Pit midtown. Gyro pita with avocado and hummus spread= tasty Chicken crave= quenched the craving!

My wife and I enjoyed this place very much. We both ordered the Philly Steak pitas (sorry for no pictures, we devoured the food too fast). The only thing we weren't too keen on was when it came to putting toppings n sauces. We were a bit confused as we were having 3 people ask us over n over what we wanted. Not a big deal and definitely not a deal breaker. Friendly staff+ great food = fantastico!

Finally was able to give this place a try after months or hearing about this "subway" style place. Basically just like subway but with a pita bread. I went and order the chicken soulvaki or whatever its call. Throw the chicken on the grill warm it up as the chicken is precook. Throw the sauce and cheese on top. Slap it on the pita bread. Add my toppings i like. They stuff and wrap it up like a burrito with a wrapper and hand it to you if you are eating there. No tray. I believe it was $8.75. It was okay. Felt like i was eating a burrito. The plus would be the freshness of the food. This place was busy right after i sat down and had my meal. Overall give this place a shot. As for me I think I will pass. All the hype got me dissapointed.

I love this place and people who work here make it very cool place, quick serve and Pita's built to order. Dagwood is their biggest sandwich and is great. I double meat on the Buffalo Chicken and the wife and oldest daughter seem to gravitate to the Chicken Souvlaki and the youngest loves the Club. It's the Subway of Pita's! They deliver too!
(4)
Whitney D.
I have ate here about 3 times so far and it really is great. They have delivery, good food, plus online ordering. Delivery is a little slow, but not horribly so. However, I ordered from there today and I didn't get any sauce on my wrap. One of my favorite parts of their pitas is the sauce. It was still good, just a little sad. Over all great lunch spot with healthy options. Just next time don't forget the sauce! :)

This was our 2nd time here. Very impressed the first time, the "twins" (2 sets?!?) served us and were very helpful in suggesting the sandwiches and best toppings/veggies/sauces to compliment each pita. Had a prime rib and a chicken souvlaki. Tasted great, have to say I was pleasantly surprised and kicking myself for not having come in sooner. Today, different set of people, not so helpful and not very good listeners. Didn't offer to grill veggies, we had to tell them to do it. Asked for a little of something and got a handful. Asked for green peppers and she grabbed a handful of onions. Again, not a great lustener. Not helpful with sauces or "spreads" and we had tried different sandwiches this time, so we just went with safe choices. Sandwich was still good but service not deserving of the tip we gave them. Will be back but will see who's working before we order (meaning if) next time.

Way better than Subway! Can you beat that staff?! I love their energy and excitement! You always see a manager there, you always know you're getting a quality pita. Friendly, smiling faces. My husband loves the churrasco chicken and I always get chicken souvlaki! I love the music, the staff, the pitas, the pit card, everything! Please open one on east side so I don't have to drive to midtown all the time!!

I got really excited about a place right down the street with healthier food options, but my felafel pita was the saltiest "healthy" food I've ever had. I didn't even finish my pita. I'm glad they don't drown it in sauce, but there was hardly any tzatziki so it was also very dry. The staff was very helpful and friendly, though, and my boyfriend enjoyed his gyro pita. I will probably give it another try because they have a lot of options that are probably all better than the felafel.

I love this place! My friend convinced me to try it.... and then I came back almost every day for a week! They have THE friendliest staff I have ever seen and weren't grumpy at ALL the time I came in at 9:57pm. When you get your pita they make it right in front of you so if you don't see enough sauce (*ahem* previous reviewer) just ask them to add more and they will. I'm a die hard meat eater and the falafel is probably my favorite one. Not too salty at all.

Much better than anything you can get at Subway. Everyone I've talked that has been there loves the place. You can get a Pita sandwich as healthy as you want or not. The service is very efficient and the workers friendly. I'll eat threat least twice a week.

By far the best Pita Pit in town! All of the workers are friendly and good at their job. I went to the Tikhatnu location and they weren't as nice, and I went to the Old Seward location and they were like robots just going through the motions. 36th Ave. location is my favorite :)
