Solid place to catch a game. Plenty of screens and friendly service.

Awesome sports bar, with a beautiful setup next to the creek. It definitely specializes in bar food though--they had two or three healthy options in a special green box on the menu. I got one of them, the grilled salmon. It was a kinda wimpy piece of fish, overdone and with a bowl of reheated frozen cut carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. My friend got a BLT which looked much more on point. Service was good though, and again I really liked that creek. There's a little path that goes over the creek to one of those touristy Alaskan tchotchke and candy shops with a chocolate fountain that smells like crayons. On our way back to Peanut Farm, some bozo who probably had too much to drink was driving his pickup all crazy over curbs in the Peanut Farm parking lot, burning rubber and spraying dirt everywhere.

Peanut farm you've been good to us, but honestly you're never my first choice. Definitely not the classiest place in Anchorage. The old divey side is comfortable but most things seem to stick to me. Reminds me of a grandpa's basement. Perfect place for a guy to spend football Sunday with his friends. Decent food, good beer list. Waitresses are quick to fill your cup with Joe. The newer, remodeled side has more TVs and large projectors. An improvement for sure, but still a divey sports bar. Hands down my favorite place to sit is outside on the patio! With Campbell Creek rolling by it can be a fun spot to grab beers with friends... but don't forget your bug spray! Mosquitos are everywhere.

I have mixed feelings about the Peanut Farm. On the one hand, it occupies a beautiful and close-to-everywhere location. Campbell Creek running through the backyard is awesome, and on a nice summer evening the patio is second to none (maybe second to Snow Goose). I also appreciate that they let the poker players occupy the old section of the bar and the "Saints" room every Tuesday evening, when so many establishments in town are reluctant to do so. The vibe is very relaxed and welcoming to everybody: business-people, college kids, families with children, etc. Finally, the new section (especially if all you want is beer and a TV) is a sports fan's dream. With all that said... if you don't care what comes out of your kitchen, and you are too busy to clean the joint once in a while, and you shrug your shoulders at the infestation of flies buzzing around your clientele, then what's the point of all the nice stuff I talked about earlier? The problem, as I see it, is that the Peanut Farm has no incentive to make better food or clean the place up. Enough people are awestruck by the massive TVs and endless promos and special events that they file into the Farm regardless. There is also a section of Anchorage society that has been going to the old Peanut Farm for decades and has no intention of abandoning it any time soon. Congrats to the folks that own the place, they've created a successful business without having to bother with the details.

Great place. Good service and a varied menu with something for everyone. Ample portions. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere riverside on the 'old side'. I have had the salmon platter here, but this visit shared a couple platters of wings. The Level 3 alarm is perfectly heated (too hot for most), but flavored deliciously. What good is a lot of heat unless there's a lot of great flavor? Thankfully, both are bull's-eyes with the wings regardless of the strength. The 'new side' with all the big TVs is impressive with the way they have arranged the screens. It's the sports fan temple and no other place can rival it for the view and setting.

Popular spot but you have to beg for service. I ordered the Irish coffee and pineapple upside down cake. Irish coffee is 5 star but small for the price. Pineapple upside down cake tastes good but not fabulous -I'd say 3 star. Service of 1 star brings the rating down. I won't return. Bonus is the deck seating is right by a beautiful stream. There's nicer places but this is fine for a drink and a bite. My girlfriends rated their drinks good as well. A strawberry margarita, beer and wine. All decent drinks.

Eeeeewww... Just eeeeewww. Very dirty. The wings are so bad that we had to attempt to scrape off the sauces with napkins before we finally decided to just discard that hot mess. The Bloody Mary tastes like tomato purée and ice. The waitstaff is nice and friendly but this place needs a revamp and food that is edible.

Had a late lunch while OSU played VT and the place was packed with very noisy OSU fans. Had to park in an adjacent lot and walk a block to the restaurant. It was my first time here and I liked it. Service was generally good although it took awhile - probably caused by the game. There were times during the game when it was unpleasant to be there, but I guess it's not the restaurant's fault. Had the prime rib melt which was very good and reasonably priced at $15. Ordered Alaskan Amber but they were sold out - thanks to the game again. Wife had Pulled Pork sandwich and liked it - $13.

Great drinks, friendly servers, and a relaxed atmosphere! Love sitting on the deck in the summer, the creek is just awesome! Highly recommend the fire fries!!

I love the pizza here. The thin crest pizza being oven baked is amazing. The thin crest is not flimsy not crispy enough to hold itself up. I like the pizza here more than mooses tooth. The beer selections are great as well. I rather come here when it isn't busy.

This is an a-ok place. It's a large sports bar with plenty of huge TVs. If you opt to sit at a table around the bar, there's even a small TV at each table. So you'll never miss a game here. The bar area is large with ample seating. And then there's booths all around the bar. Plus some tables, as well as tables in the "outside" area. The "outside" area is actually indoors, it's just slightly separate from the bar area and has a pretty view. The service definitely leaves something to be desired here. Order everything you want and ask for everything you may need the first time you see your server as it may be the only time you see him/her. Even at the bar this is the case. They've never been crowded when I've been here, so I'm not sure what's up with the inattentive service. The beer offerings are meh. More than most sports bars, but lacking considering how many breweries there are in Alaska. The menu is diverse, but pay attention to the times listed on each page. Most items are only available during certain time. Before 11am for breakfast and after 3pm for dinner. The wings are pretty good. The meat itself is not the best quality. But they are cooked well. And the sauces are delicious and actually quite spicy. I like spicy and the 3 Alarm was good enough for me. I can't even imagine what the 5 Alarm must be like. The default dipping sauce is blue cheese. It's a very standard, run-of-the-mill blue cheese. If you prefer ranch (or want both), you'll have to ask for it. You can only choose one sauce unless you order 2 dozen, then you can choose two. However, special hint, if you don't know which sauce you want, asking for some samples. All in all, the items are overpriced, but the wings are worth it. The ambiance and vibe are super casual. And don't expect actual service.

Service flat out sucks! Atmosphere is great! Food is great! Service is horrible! I realize the bar in the new addition is huge, but when there's only a few customers, I shouldn't have to wait 15 min for a drink or for my check or anything else.

This place was a great welcoming to Alaska. The staff was friendly, the beer was cold the food was great. I recommend the southwest egg rolls. If your looking to watch a sports game this place will give you everything you need.

It's ok. Their breakfast isn't great, but it's not bad. They've whittled down to a bare bones breakfast menu on Sunday mornings for NFL football which is pretty lame. They have spent a lot of money on televisions on the new side of the bar, but neglected the old side, where many of us love to sit. The "Saint's Room" is one of the best places to sit because it's a smaller room with TVs in a circle around the room. It's the easiest place to watch all the games. However, that room is run by a rude, loud and obnoxious group of Saints fans that are disrespectful to those around them. There are definitely two classes of customers there, and you will be in the bottom class when you walk in the door. The big projector in the Saints Room cuts out every couple of minutes ruining the experience and there are two TVs in the corner that cut out constantly and are not even watchable. (I'm not even sure why they turn them on) There are a number of televisions that have serious color issues and just poor picture quality. They have too many TVs hooked up to too few connections and it shows. Many areas of the bar are understaffed, and even though their staff works very hard, they are trying to do too much and stuff gets missed. One day I got offered nearly every piece of food that came out of the kitchen. If you're trying to watch your favorite game, good luck geting them to switch a TV close to you. They don't have the best system for choosing which games are going to be on which TVs and the people that are making these decisions know very little about football. Their pizzas are fantastic. They are a little on the pricy side, but they are worth it. Stone fired goodness. Overall: If you are looking for a professional sports bar experience, with top of the line equipment, look somewhere else.

Very large and open sports bar - I came here late one night and it was super nice we can't wait to go when there's a good game. They have so many big screens and pool tables. The bar is huge and super long all the way around. We will definitely be back! We got a couple pizzas and drinks and the service was pretty good! The pizzas were delicious. Highly recommend!

  • Timothy J.

The food is good. But I went in to get some food. I literally wait 10 mins and then just went and got the bar tenders attention. Who was just chatting with her friend the whole time. That aside the food was good and quick.

For sport lovers out there....If you want a place to watch almost any sport you can imagine take a visit to Peanut Farm. It has a nice cozy atmosphere and ginormous-screen TVs in almost every direction. We sat at the bar and the service was great, our bartender checked on us frequently and the drinks were strong and good however the food was just alright in preparation and in presentation and little pricey. I will return next time I am in Anchorage.

Beautiful view of the creek, great for a relaxing lunch. Food was hot, all American food. Not one negative thing I could say.

    (5)
  • Ken D.

Not a bad place, but not great. Seems more attention paid to "locals" or "regulars" than tourists, which is odd since it is just down the road from a group of 4-5 huge hotels, and minutes to the airport. Lots of TVs and they always have sports on, so this is the place to go if you're visiting Anchorage and don't want to go downtown. Average food, decent beer selection, friendly if not overly attentive staff.

  • Sky S.

The Peanut Farm is an Anchorage, "must go and see" staple. It's a great place to unwind, catch the game and have great brew and wings. The selection of sandwiches and burgers will keep you on your toes and it's "uber" family friendly. A staple for the kids, the family and for just hanging out with friends and catching up. The food is excellent and consistently so and the selection of brews is excellent as well.

  • David B.

I come to Anchorage for work 4-5 weeks a year and eat out 2-3 times a day when I'm here. Quality of food is below average for Anchorage. They have upgraded their menu and added some interesting dishes but still standard fair at best. I have tried several lunch items and it is a touch better than Dennys. I typically get the French dip with a salad. It's good, not great. The new prime rib one is more expensive and very fatty, not my thing. HERE IS THE THING- A WELCOME VIEW OF THE CREEK in the back and a great selection of beers. The pricing is below average for Anchorage and a great view. I say come here when you are more interested in a easy meal with a great view and robust beer list, then a true Alaskan food experience. Great to stop here before the airport as well, 5 minutes away

Worst burger I've ever had. I took 3 bites and decided I'd rather go to Wendys. Dimly lot and horrible service. My worst dining experience since I've been in Anchorage. Ugh.

Always get good consistent food and drinks everytime. Absolutely love this place. The strawberry long island pounder is the best along with some fire fries!! Service is kinda hit or miss but never stops me from returning

Gets pretty packed during games but a good place to come. Has a good atmosphere and cold beer so I don't complain foods decent nothing to brag about but goes good with cold beer

  • Tluweyen S.

Nice sports bar atmosphere. They had a decent selection of beer (~25 on tap) and normal pub-like food. I will definitely come back during the football season.

Went on a recommendation from some of the guys at the office. Lots of choices and I did enjoy my lunch. Would love to come here and watch a game. Lots of TV's and TV's in the booths as well.

My parents and I went here for a late lunch on a but of a whim. We had no idea what to expect and didn't even realize there was two totally different sections until after we ate. As it turns out we ate in the remodeled side of the sports bar, so I can't speak for the older side. The food was good, better than what I expected from a sports bar. I got the make your own pizza with chicken, sausage, ham, bell pepper, onion, and mushroom. It turned out great. The ham was actually really good ham which cause it to overpower the other flavors a bit so I'll probably leave it off next time, but it is great if you want a ham pizza. I didn't hear any complaints from my parents about their dishes and my mom really liked the fire fries. The service was pretty decent, had worse, had better. The waitress could really perk up with a smile to liven the atmosphere, but I don't hold it against her. We got refills through most of our meal, but towards the end my mom had run out of tea and didn't get offered a refill. There are huge TVs that seem like they would be fantastic if you were there to watch a game. All in all it as one of my better experiences with dining out in anchorage.

Great wings, good burgers. Price increases have put them off my list though. 2.00 per wing (counted them) seems a bit steep.

    (3)
  • Paul L.

Went in for a salad on my lunch had to wait 5 or 10 mins before anyone took my order at the bar the salad was ok but for the price it was not. Paid $16 for a so called diner salad that was more like a side salad this place is just overpriced bar food nothing more.

  • Shay L.

It's a sports bar...order bar food. Avoid the fish and chicken. They're not as fresh as they can be. Friendly environment though. Nice river view right next to it.

  • Mary C.

Are you ready for some football??? This is a great place to catch a game, have some good food, beverages and even a pool game if you so desire. I had a craving all week for their Fire Fries and let me tell you...delicious!!! I ordered them and asked if they would be kind enough to add bacon, cheese, and sour cream...they of course said absolutely for a small up-charge. It was well worth it to me as it really hit the spot. It was a great portion size. They have a great selection of other food. It is a louder environment as to be expected for a sports bar. Definitely worth a shot.

I was very pleased with this place considering the food in Anchorage is horrible compared to the lower 48 but this place was above par their pizza is definitely worth trying out and the bartenders have been enjoyable with every visit

Came in near late night. A rather large sports bar as far as Alaska goes, but has a sense of technology and pro-sport adoration large cities offer. Two separate areas make up its elongated infrastructure that promote a different feel. Pros: *decent seating and menu, both drinks and food wise. It is pretty big and has a wooden, I'm guessing older section that compliments the moody, tv screen clad section. The menu is extensive and some will say expensive but mainly pub food. Don't come here expecting something grandeur in nature. Order something substantial, and avoid the appetizers if you don't want cheap food; though the wings are not bad. *entertainment is present. There are a few pool tables, and televisions attached to the booths. Great for casual sport watchers and friends. On busy nights, don't expect to gain access to the pool tables, for there aren't many, but it's convenient when business is steady or slow. * service is good. The service is attentive and appreciative in the restaurant area. If you are in the old, wooden section; basically a bar section, I recommend talking to the bartender to let them know you want service, for people seem to come and go at a casual rate without any form of hosting. None the less, the staff was polite and enthusiastic. * sporty, themed events. Every now and then they have fun competitions of a sort. I walked in on a group doing flippy cup which was nice. Perhaps this is a bias because I joined in. Fuck yeah, drinking games. * live music. They have bands and at other times single artists doing what they can. Music hand made to order is always nice. Cons: * Alaska does not have many sporty venues and this is popular one. It can get busy fast. Check out the business before you decide to sit, or you will find yourself in service limbo. *cleanliness is a little lacking. Just observe some of the TVs at your table and you'll understand quickly that they should probably hire someone to do some fine detailing. Perhaps it's my gentle OCD, but it would be nice to see a screen without drunken finger prints and grime all over them. Synopsis is that this place is not half bad, especially for casual sports goers. Even then, great place to eat and drink, though the abundant amount of screens can be distracting from social endeavors. The servers are veterans and the food ample, though the appetizers are greasy and cliche. Stick to a real entree and real drinks (the Alaskan Long Island iced tea is very, very strong) and you'll be having a good experience in no time.

Let me start by saying we were all dubious but it's the only place we could find open in the morning. The server seemed dour at first but lightened up and was quite fun. Food was surprisingly good and portions large. I wouldn't hesitate to stop back in if we come back this way.

    (4)
  • Clarke B.

Highly overpriced food - I guess I'm paying for the satellite subscription...if they dropped a few bucks off many of their items, I'd be more apt to go more frequently. But, they're always busy, so I guess they don't care.

  • Felix C.

Unprofessional server and filthy wine glasses ruined a beautiful day on the deck. We won't return.

Breakfast was horrible. Not sure how they stand serving hash browns soaked in oil, frozen and warmed up chicken fried steak and the gravy...fresh out of a can folks. Yuck.

So we have heard all this talk about how the Peanut Farm is a great local place to watch the away Aces hockey game. Not true. We arrived there during the second period and had to ask them to put the game on which they did and then we could not get the radio box to work until 20 minutes into the service. Our waitress was to busy talking to people she knew to take our order or help us with anything we had questions about. We also had to ask her three times to get the radio box and finally another waitress got it for us! The food was pretty blah for the price...I got the club and the turkey was paper thin, rubbery and tasteless. The cheese was disgusting and the olives on my husbands taco salad were dry and hard The only good thing about the night was the onion rings. Never going back.

You have got to love a place that serves cinnamon butter with the sweet potato fries. Went there for lunch and my Swiss mushroom burger was good with a ton of mushrooms, although I think the patty was a bubba burger. Clam chowder was good, but was a little low on the clam/potato ratio

    (4)
  • John L.

Food is okay here. I think it's more about the vibe. 1) Price- Not too bad. I got a ton of wings and a sandwich for about $25 2) Quality- Wings were very juicy and not dry at all. I thought the fire fries were okay. 3) Quantity- Decently portioned- lots of wings if you order 4) Atmosphere- Very sports bar focused- the staff wears ref uniforms 5) Staff- Very friendly. My server was great and very kind. Seems like a nice local place- food is okay here.

The Peanut Farm is a good place to catch just about any sporting event. They've got tolerable food, not the BEST, but not horrible. The service had always been good. In the summer, it's a great place to sit outside next to Campbell Creek. They also have a nice big back room for special events.

Some of the worst bar food I have ever had!! Not to mention the Price,$13.75 for 3 Processed Chicken Strips and a handful of Fries!!!! Next time I'll go to Carr's Deli counter and get chicken strips there!! Nice place but way the f@#k out in Left Field on the menu prices!!

    (1)
  • Anni V.

They still have the best chicken wings in town. The Cajun dry spice is my personal favorite. Got a craving for them yesterday and they were awesome! Buffalo wild wings fails compared to these and they don't even charge extra for the celery and dipping sauce!

  • Francois D.

Sat at the bar for 15mins while the bartender just ignored me. The bar was not even busy!!! Avoid this place at all costs!!!!

Great river view on balcony. Had some food issues but they remade the cold halibut strips & sent it out hot. Thx!

Had a non -smoking section which was a plus. Didn't seem overly smokey, but nice to have the section. Plus it overlooked the stream, and we saw multiple salmon while waiting. Had the Pork Wild Wings. Very good. Great atmosphere and TV's everywhere. Great place to visit on vacation, lots of locals too.

So I'm a stranger in town but I'm wielding the all-powerful Yelp Mobile App. I'm in the mood for a sports bar and the App brings me here. Once again my fellow Yelpers are right on because this is a standard three star place. I blow in on a Sunday afternoon and discover that this is a big place as sports bars go. The bar is also big and there are lots of booths and tables. The overall atmosphere is a little odd. There are loads of TVs of several sizes and many of them were turned off. It gave the place and odd half-open feel. The top of the bar itself is a strange white plastic. I'm sure it's easy to clean put once again it looked odd. I visited the men's room and discovered the stall had no door. That's just plain tacky. When I was there it was very slow with maybe a dozen patrons. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink. My bartender was fine and the quality of service was fine throughout my stay. Of course that wasn't hard as it was very slow. I perused the large menu and there was everything you would expect. I ordered the Pastrami Dip for $11.25. It was served with Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard and came with a pickle and fries. I'm a huge fan of pastrami so I was hoping for something special. Nope. It was fine but I'd call it just A OK. So for me it was just another sports bar with a slightly odd vibe. If somebody invited me to watch a game here I'd say "sure." What I wouldn't say is "Oh wow, that's great!" There was just nothing memorable about my visit.

Never ever again, this place totally blows. Attempted to give this place a SECOND chance and was just as disappointed as the first. If you come for the sports viewing and ambience make sure you aren't paying attention the quality of food, friendliness of service, or cleanliness ...this place straight sucks! Cheap, pre made food for your eating. I was told by several folks the place was a lot better before they changed the menu. My suggestion is 1) be drunk before you go, 2) eat before you go, 3) bring hand sanitizer 4) start tips at 0.01. Was really disappointed for the second.....second time.

I would love to give them more stars but the food was pricey and really not that good. The location on the creek is awesome and the beer selection was good. The staff weren't overly friendly but I'm used to that, being from the mid-west. Our server warmed up after I chatted her up a bit.

  • Joy G.

What took me so long?!?! I avoided this place for a long time because it seemed cliche. I'm kicking myself. We finally ventured over to the Peanut Farm to check out the Fur Rondy ice-bowling. It wa a hoot. The Peanut Farm is very cool place to hang out. I don't think anyone could honestly say they've got great food. But what they do have is outstanding atmosphere and a beautiful physical space. Its obvious a lot of thought, time and money has gone into the planning to make it comfortable and attractive. Yes, the food is lackluster (but not horrible) and a little over-priced. But they have great drinks, lots of beer on tap, a great view of the creek and lots to entertain you. The original side of the Peanut Farm is very Alaskany and charming. The new side has vaulted ceilings, ample seating, a huge bar and LOTs of wide screen TV for all your sports viewing pleasure.

It's good for Anchorage because I don't like the food around here normally under seasoned for me but it's a nice place.

  • Brittany B.

The seating outside was nice. Pretty good food- I had the chicken wrap. But it's slightly pricey, especially their cocktails ($9-$10). I had a rum punch- tasted like juice, so I returned it and got a long island iced tea, it was excellent. I also had a sangria, it was good. The atmosphere is good. The staff was alright, my server (male) was rather monotone and didn't show much enthusiasm nor charisma. I don't understand why it's called the peanut farm...

    (3)
  • Ken B.

Not a bad place. Food was pretty good. Service was sloppy and unorganized. We cam to watch the Seahawks football game and were told at last moment it was not on except on one of the smaller screens. We were offered to go downstairs to try if we liked. Are you kidding me? We will probably go someplace else to watch games this season.

    (2)
  • Liz B.

We've tried here a few times and while the food is pretty good everything isn't really worth it. There's not much of a drink menu and even though they promise a full bar they won't be able to make most of what you ask for.

    (2)
  • Yolie J.

Football was good, food was good. Service was less than mediocre. Price wise it was under 20 for a sandwich and a beer. If the waitress wasn't so sour and inattentive we would have had a better experience. Nothing ruins a meal more than bad service. We tipped 10% and if it wasn't for the sandwich being good she wouldn't have gotten that. We never got refills, she never asked how the meal was, another server had to bring us napkins and silverware AFTER we asked for it. She came by to pick up her tip before we left!! Unbelievable! Everyone's entitled to a bad day but you are in the service industry! A smile wouldn't kill you!

Awesome atmosphere for watching sports! Super full menu with anything from the bar staples to halibut and veggies. Service was slow at first, but caught on. I'd recommend it for sure!

So my bf and I went to grab some lunch. I ordered the fish and chips and he had a mushroom Swiss burger. When the food arrived and I took a bite my smile turned into a frown. I was disappointed the cod was lukewarm and soggy. I didn't send it back but looked sadly down on my plate wondering how this place didn't succeed on frying a piece of fish. Any ways my bf burger was alright. They did have a nice scenery of a bridge and little lake surrounding them. I don't think I'll be back.

All i have to say is YUMMM.. big bar, big menu, great people and ambiance one of the only sports pubs in town. :) ive ordered about everything there and havent been disappointed yet! its really crowded during football season and on "fight nights" so get there early. the TVs at the booths are pretty cool too!

My friend and I decided to make one last stand before our 12:30 AM flight out of Anchorage. After barging into a steakhouse that turned out to be closed (I blame how deceptively light it is at 10 PM during the summer), we were advised that the Peanut Farm is the place to go. It looks like there's a smaller, homier bar here, as well as a bigger area (which is where we ended up) that has TVs high up surrounding the entire room. If you choose to sit in a booth, you get your own TV as well, which is pretty much the whole point of going to a sports bar. We sat at the main bar, which goes right under the elevated TVs. Our waitress was solid, although it took some time for us to place our initial order and get our food. The beer selection is solid - a lot of local Alaska drafts, as well as other craft brews from the Pacific Northwest. We got a pound of wings, which is actually a bit less than you would think (maybe 8-10 wings total), but we loaded up and got the spiciest ones possible. They aren't hot right off, but they have the slow burn that will pretty much light your mouth on fire a few minutes after you've chowed down....I learned this the hard way. If most bars were set up like Peanut Farm, I'd be pretty happy. Good selection, pretty much all the sports you can watch at one time - what more can you ask for? I guess I could see it getting pretty loud in here depending on when you come in, but at least at 10:30-11 on a weekday night, it was pretty reasonable.

Laid back sports bar with lots of large screen TVs, and waitresses running around to fill beer orders. Came in one Sunday morning to watch a Caps game and ordered a little of the hair of the dog that bit me. Ordered clam chowder and a friend ordered a burger. Both were typical. Ive been here before and ordered burgeres, fish sandwiches, etc... Reasonably priced, but I would say they charge a bit more for the beer than some places. The original section is in the back and they used to allow smoking in there, though I'm not sure about now. It's a good time with no frills and large TVs.

Met a group of friends here for dinner. A buddy and I split two pounds of wings. Got them naked with the Honey BBQ and 2 Alarm sauces on the side. Both were good, the 2 Alarm had good flavor, but wasn't extremely hot. A nice burn, but bearable. The Cheesy Fries were also excellent. Large beers for all were reasonably prices, and came from an excellent selection on tap. Lots of TVs, including one in the booth, to watch whatever game you want. Will definitely go back.

Pretty good wings.. Decent waitress.. the T.Vs r the best part. Kinda overpriced menu to be honest..

Love the atmosphere, perfect place for sports game viewing, and I love coming to play pool. My only complaint is that the menu needs to be spiced up a bit and maybe hire more staff... There always seems to be dishes piling up in the pool table area.

This place continues to have horrible service. The food is marginal at best and the bartenders are clueless. Hint to Staff: Watch for new customers and keep their drinks full. Maybe you'll get better tips. Oh yeah, and try acting like you are in the customer service business. The TV's are the only good thing about this place.

    (2)
  • Billy I.

The TV's at the booths are disgusting. It's hard to eat if you sit there. A lot of the channels either don't work or are really fuzzy. If your trying to flip through channels, they haven't programmed the working ones so it takes forever because of all the blacked out channels. The hot farm sub is good though. Burger was average tasting and a huge size.

The atmosphere was cool but the bartender I call the A-hole viking's fan" was a total jerk. We waited over 20 mins to get a beer when we sat at the bar. Then almost 40 mins later he finally came back to us after we had to tell out to get his attention to order food. Then! We tried to pay the bill and we waited 30 more min's to get our cards back only after asking if we could go. He then copped an attitude and purposely brought a beer to the guy next to us and states out loud " thanks for being patient". Needless to say we will never go back on a Monday night again. Horrible representation of a cool place to watch the game. This Monday night Vikings fan is in the wrong position for his puss poor attitude.

Great wings excellent brew and the Sienna the bartender is always a treat. They could use more than three pool tables but they are really just a bonus. Try and get there on a Sunday a bit later and you'll have the place to yourself.

This is great sports bar with really good food. Our friend from Fairbanks introduced us to it. We went there late the first time, and it was a great place to hang out, have a few beers, and watch as much Sports as you want. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch with our friend and few other friends who had just arrived. We sat at one of the booths with the personal TV, which was pretty cool. I had the tangy turkey sandwich, was was excellent, but the sweet potato fires stole the show, some of the best ones I have ever had. My husband had the wings and loved them. I also tried the fried halibut one of my friends got and thought it was cooked perfectly (and much better than when I had it at Humpy's). Great beer selection too. The place is huge and has some outdoor patio seating. Service was excellent and very friendly. This is a great local sports bar to have, wish we had one like this in the Heights.

I've avoided coming here for months and months because I assumed it was a tourist trap (since Sourdough is next door and considered a trap). First of all, it doesn't make the best impression, with a bunch of steps to even get through the door...what about older people, or people with bad knees? But, I was very pleasantly surprised, as it's very open air, sportsbar type of scene with a sleek bar that stretches the room. We sat in the patio area and had a nice view of the creek. The drinks were very good, and my mushroom and swiss burger was just ok. The service was quite excellent, she did a great job and cared that we liked our meal. Bottom line: may not be the best food I've ever had, but good drinks and a cool ambiance to watch the game in.

This was our first meal in Alaska. I had the burger and my partner the french dip. The best feature of the meal was definitely the river running by the place. Otherwise, the food was pretty generic. Service was great. This is a sports bar, be prepared for TVs coming at you from all directions. Overall passable, and certainly not the worst meal you can find in Anchorage...

This place has hundreds of TVs Even a TV at your booth. Out back along the river is seating and..... Giant sized bowling on the weekends. This place is GREAT !

Terrible food & unimpressive service. They ONLY cook burgers well done?? What?! Had to ask 3 times to receive a sauce for my overdone, dry burger. Then I had to scrape the pound & 1/2 of salt from my fries. Gross. Luckily, I had a cold beer to wash down that garbage...that was the only good thing about this visit. I'll spend my money elsewhere, thanks.

I probablly get to the Peanut Farm a half dozen times a year or so. The reasons I keep going back is consistency and location. You can always get a decent meal at a fair price and sometimes I am just looking to meet up with friends some where in mid town. This past weekend my fiance and I met a friend for lunch and some ice bowling, something we enjoy participating in every year. Between the three of us we had a burger, chicken wrap, chef salad and a bunch of four alarm wings. Everything was well prepared and tasty, but I was especially impressed with the salad, which I stole a few bites of. It was a very generous portion of fresh letuce and included turkey, olives, blue cheese, and hard boiled eggs. Deffinatley worth getting if you are l;ooking for something healthier than a burger. If you haven't enjoyed ice bowling, you are missing out on a dose of good quirky fun, and at seven bucks for a game including a T-shirt, you can't beat the value.

Decent grub and the only place to find a large group of Bills fans. =P Also, they are open before kick off, so get there early and grab a good spot. They have a full bar and plenty of big screens all around. If you catch a booth you'll have your own personal TV to yourself, woot woot! During the summer time they have outdoor seating where you can sit by the creek and enjoy your meal. It's really nice. This time around I tried the California burger, cause I looooove avocados especially on my burger. I was super excited, and was madly slammed with a FAIL. They served a plastic dipping cup of what appeared to be prepackaged pureed avocado.. and I'm not talking about guac style, it was puree avocado piped into that bad boy. WTH?? Uhg.. like I said, FAIL. Oh well, I've had past experiences here that were by far better. Everyone has their bad days, yeah? ;-)

Sports Bar to the tenth magnitude...a gazillion tv's playing everything on every sports channel...the place is huge but on a big game night it will be packed to the gills and you will wonder how anyone breathes. The menu is a bit up from bar food...known for wings...service has generally always been fine. Great place to go and talk loud, drink and eat food that doesnt require a lot of decision making when ordering...not far from anywhere and close to the American Bush Co...hehe Flat screens everywhere from walls to individual tables...

It's really like being at a really big TGIF or Applebar's bar. Pretty much generic, unexciting, bland food and some drinks. Coffee is watered-down shit, breakfast food generally blows, their pizzas are nothing but greasy cheeses and tasteless sauce smeared over an overbaked, giant hard cracker-like "crust", but they have a ton of beer of tap, can usually sling a good, hard drink, and I look forward to coming here with the gang to watch football on Sundays. Two stars for food, three stars for relatively palatable cocktails, five stars for all the wonderful servers who can juggle a bunch of drunk football fans.

I go here pretty much every time I'm in Anchorage. It's a local favorite with a massive bar, massive menu and just down home good pub food. Big portions, good pours, huge outdoor patio for sunny days and a covered one with retractable doors for those not so sunny days. Get the wings with the dry rub and the 3 alarm sauce on the side with a large glass of Midnight Sun's Sockeye IPA. Now THAT'S good livin!

$$$. Don't believe the $$ listed on the review. This is a popular, local hangout and the prices prove it. The drinks are expensive and I found the service and the food to be good. I came with a friend for breakfast. We enjoyed the friendly service and BIG servings (filled us up for the day). But it was well over $30 for the two of us--which to me is pricey for breakfast. It must be a fun place during busy sports-filled weekends. During the week, I found being surrounded by blaring televisions a bit annoying. But that's me.

Had lunch here with customers. Yes, it IS a sport bar - I might come back to watch an event. The bar crowd looked a bit rough, even for lunch. We sat out back on this long porch that has big garage doors open to the creek behind the place. Unfortunately, this day was cool and rainy, so they were thankfully closed. Our server was ok, nothing to write home about. I had to flag her down to get a refill on my iced tea. The reason I gave this place a great rating was the food. Two of us had beer batter halibut and fries which were outstanding. The other two had blackened halibut sandwiches, which were also great. The menu is big and has lots to chose from. Another reviewer said this is a good place to go after a night of drinking - I can see why!

A gazillion tv's, mega amounts of beers on tap, awesome menu, friendly staff and did I mention this place is huge? I had a halibut burrito. Who even knew they made such crazy concoctions? Like Alaska original version of a gigantic, homegrown Buffalo Wild Wings this place is super cool. Why didn't I buy a t-shirt on my last visit?

My favorite sports bar in Anchorage. "The Farm", as the locals call it, is always busy. As Jared stated they have TV's everywhere. A couple years ago "The Farm" expanded by building the newer building that you see from the street, which more than doubled their square footage. It is referred to as "the new side". If the new side is too noisy for you try walking down the hall to the old side. The old side is in the original log cabin that the bar operated in for many years. They have a very nice selection of beer and spirits to choose from. They have an extensive menu for a bar. I seem to gravitate towards their hot wings and steamed clams whenever I am there with my friends. Everybody loves a big deck, and "The Farm" has one. Attached to the old side is a large outdoor deck that overlooks Campbell Creek. During the summer King Salmon migrate up this creek to spawn. Few things in Anchorage are better than drinking a beer at "The Farm", on the deck and watching Salmon swim up stream with a few good friends.

Two words to perfectly sum up this place: DISAPPOINTING & OVERRATED!! I used to love coming here, but my recent trip made me think otherwise. I'll give this place its stars for the sport's atmosphere, half a star for the food, and another for the time it took my food to come out of the kitchen. Our server, who was probably stoned when serving, was slow, couldn't remember our orders, and split the check incorrectly after telling her numerous times how to do so. Damn, if you know you can't remember, bring a writing pad around, I'd rather you take your time writing it down and get it right the first time. So, one of my buddies ordered a phili cheesesteak, and it tasted funky. The meat or the bread tasted like a dirty, wet rag or as if it was placed near the fryer and the stench from it soaked the bread. The cheese on it, however was melted nicely. My burger was nothing spectacular. There was absolutely nothing special about it... it's like I could have made that at home and I am not that great of a cook. The sweet potato fries were good though, but the cinnamon dip it came with was too creamy and sweet for me. Others may like it. But the food was way overpriced for what you get. I decided to take away another star because I actually left the place pretty angry, especially because of our server. She did not check up on us once to see how the food was, etc. I will probably won't return to this place, unless I have absolutely have to (but I don't see that happening).

Definitely suits its purpose. I know that my dad and uncle frequent the place for sports-watching of all types. I don't mind the tvs, either, but I rarely have them on sports when I have control of the booth! Despite eating there thousands of times, both at the new and old versions, I've only had nachos, chicken strips, and hot wings. Good bar food and they do it alright. Service is pretty lacking even during the day when barely anyone is there. Service seemed better when it was just the old place. Oh well!

Peanut farm is one of my favorite sports bars in town. It was also pretty convenient from where I used to live. I really like Peanut Farm for all of the tvs to watch all different sports on, their pool tables and their atmosphere. Ive spent a lot of Sundays watching football there with my girlfriends and the bartenders and servers were really nice and did their jobs well. Love their pizzas, their food is pretty decent, their prices....??? Could be worse I suppose. Not super expensive but not inexpensive either. We were pretty bummed because on the Sundays that we would go there, they didnt serve nachos until after 3pm.?. No idea why but no biggie. Love their Alaskan Ice teas with strawberrys. $15 for a big glass of this but a quarter or half-way through it you will most likely have a good buzz going on...or not...all depending I suppose. Good place for pre-gaming when you're having ladies/guys night out too. Summers are nice. I like sitting out on the deck with my friends chit chatting enjoying the sun & seeing people canoe/kayak by in Campbell creek that goes by the deck & past Arctic Roadrunner on the other side. It can be pretty entertaining.

This place is unique in that it's not only a sports bar, but it specifically caters to sports watchers. There are about ten booths that seat around six people with a TV built into the table. On game nights there has to be four people in the booth by 5 p.m. if you want to keep it - no exceptions - which can be a pain if someone's running late. If you're hungry, this place is great. It's typical bar food but you can also order raw oysters on the half-shell, steaks and some fancy seafood dishes. The sweet potato fries are yummy and come with a cinnamon butter dip, and the fire fries are insanely yummy. It's a bit of a sensory overload deal, and on busy nights parking can be a pain, but this place is still fun. Just get there early on Saturday to beat the crowds.

Showed up around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday night after flying in. Ordered a couple pitchers and a sampler platter. finished that with a quickness and then got to drinking. Played pool and drank until they shut it down. The bartender was super nice, she poured us a lot of beers and shots and when we complained about the music she let us put on whatever wanted. If I were ever in Anchorage during football season this would be my office. Prices were not too crazy for Alaska. Perfect place for a guys night out as you can walk half a block to ABC after you get bored with the bar games.

Some experiences in your life can be described as nothing short of surreal. Such was my trip to the New Peanut Farm when I came back to Anchorage for a visit in the summer of 2007. Let me back up - when I was a resident of Anchorage, prior to 2001, I remember going to the Peanut Farm on a number of occasions. My memories are of a sort of dingy, shack-like bar, very strong Long Island Iced Teas, and, for some reason, the Doors' song Riders On The Storm. So, when Jen-sha brought me here a little past midnight on a beautiful summer evening, and we walked into a cavernous, chain-like sports bar, I was confused. Then when we sat down at an enormous cooshy booth, equipped with private television, and listened to some crooner on some unseen stage sing "Over the Rainbow" (to commemorate the anniversary of Judy Garland's death, she told her small and very disinterested audience), my head sort of began to spin. This wasn't the Peanut Farm I remembered... this wasn't even Anchorage! Where was I?! The delirium did not end there. Once the live musical act wrapped up, a Nickelback concert was let loose on all the gigant-i-screen TVs covering the walls. I already hated Nickelback with a hatred that cannot be expressed in words, but ohmygod they were ridiculous in concert! And so Jen and I drank our beers, ate our deep fried mozzarella cheese logs, and laughed uproariously at the spectacle being projected for us. To add to this, it was about 2:00 am - the time of night when nothing really makes sense, anyway. As we were pretty much the only people in the bar, we were not concerned that we were pissing off any true Nickelback fans. The New Peanut Farm is ridiculous. Their giant appetizers are.. well, gigantic. They have beer. They are open SUPER LATE, as is their kitchen. I recommend this bar to two types of people - sports fans, and drunk people looking to eat deep fried cheese at 2:00 am. It's definitely a fun and bizarre late night alternative to Village Inn.

Outstanding sports bar, with above average food. Giant screens for a main event, but they will put any game you request on many of the smaller screens. Highly recommended.

Classic case of a great establishment with history growing into schlock and mediocrity. Used to be one of the best burgers in town. Used to be some of the best(strongest) drinks in town. Use to have the best apps in town. Arguably still has the best deck in town, but if it's cold out, drive another two minutes to Eddies for Sports or five minutes to Bradley House for food.

Great sports bar!!! Especially when you watch a 24-point dog stomp USC :D There's the modern state of the art side and the old school 10 ehf-bomb/minute gritty side and a picturesque stream running by out the back door! The blackened halibut was perfect down to the tangy tartar sauce.

Good for watching games. The food is always good. I've had most of the sandwiches on the menu and the only one I don't like that I would usually like is the Pastrami. The thing I like the most is that if I go to watch a game they will always put it on a t.v. for me, even if it is a non-hyped hockey or baseball game. Too crowded for my taste during football. The service is even good for a bar most of the time.

Stopped by for a Steelers game and found a few fans and a bartender with a Roethlisberger jersey. Tons of screens and great seating options along the creek. Food seemed a bit pricey and all fries were frozen. Good halibut sandwich was the food highlight. Would return for a game but not for a dinner with great food.

TV's Everywhere even in the bathrooms, this place is the ultimate sporting event bar. It would probably be a good idea to arrive early for your sporting event to get good seating. Even the booths have their own personal TV. Sorry, when you go there you will be amazed at how many tv's they have there. Then on top of that in the summertime, the have a massive deck over-looking Campbell Creek that is a nice view. The food here is excellent, definitely a place to go grab a brew with the guys.

  • Andrew A.

Went in for a salad on my lunch had to wait 5 or 10 mins before anyone took my order at the bar the salad was ok but for the price it was not. Paid $16 for a so called diner salad that was more like a side salad this place is just overpriced bar food nothing more.

It's a sports bar...order bar food. Avoid the fish and chicken. They're not as fresh as they can be. Friendly environment though. Nice river view right next to it.

    (1)

They still have the best chicken wings in town. The Cajun dry spice is my personal favorite. Got a craving for them yesterday and they were awesome! Buffalo wild wings fails compared to these and they don't even charge extra for the celery and dipping sauce!

  • Lard Belly E.

Pretty good wings.. Decent waitress.. the T.Vs r the best part. Kinda overpriced menu to be honest..

  • Jeremy R.

  • Katylyn L.

Love the atmosphere, perfect place for sports game viewing, and I love coming to play pool. My only complaint is that the menu needs to be spiced up a bit and maybe hire more staff... There always seems to be dishes piling up in the pool table area.

  • Ken N.

Great sports bar and grill. Big screen tvs everywhere and each booth has its own tv. Good wings, good service. Perfect place to catch the game

Don't be a dummy and get lured in by the cool name (like me). This was the only bad food experience I had in two weeks in Anchorage. I get a little nauseaus just thinking about it. Seriously.

Had great service and good food. We were visiting from out of town and our server Aleta made us feel welcomed and gave us tips on where to hang in Anchorage. I will definitely go back.

No better place to enjoy a sunny Anchorage afternoon. They also have the best price we've found for our favorite local draft beer.

Great selection of microbrews. I had the Cajun wings and Fire Fries. The wings were excellent. I really enjoyed the fries too. The ambiance is great. The Cambell creek flows right behind the restaurant. I'd go back.

Food was ok. Drinks were a little pricy. Waitress brought food out and mine was not there. She went to find out why and told me she forgot to enter it. Didn't get my food until everyone else was done eating.

Alaska's answer to Buffalo Wild Wings. Albeit a nicer place. Larger menu. The best place in Anchorage to watch the game. Great cajun wings.
