Really good food and decent service! They make a lot in house and you can taste the freshness.

Mike loves the brisket sandwich, and you need to try the salted Carmel sauce with the sweet potato fries! Yum-o!

The service and atmosphere was great, but the food was terrible. The place was empty on a Saturday night. Our table of 8 and another table of 2 were the only ones in there the whole night. They were out of a lot of things that we tried to order. I ordered the reindeer sausage penne but it was macaroni noodles instead. They didn't even warn me prior. If so, I would've like to have order something else. The sauce was inconsistent to the same dish that another person at my table ordered. I was so disappointed. For the price I probably won't be going back ever again since there are so many other great places in that area.

We dropped in spontaneously on a Friday night at 8pm. The GM greeted us, and recognizing that we were new to the restaurant, she went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. First, they brought us complimentary jalapeno biscuits which were fluffy, fresh, and probably our favorite part of the whole meal. We ordered a bottle of organic wine, which was on special for only $20 and not bad at all. When we asked about soups, she brought us samples of all four of them! And they were all delicious, our favorites being the reindeer chili and the smoky tomato soup. We ordered the shrimp and grits appetizer. The grits could have used a little salt but the texture was creamy and included a little bit of a very nice sauce. I ordered the chop salad as my entree, which was good, but I was a bit disappointed that the kalamata olives listed on the menu were actually black olives. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye, which was cooked perfectly and included a comically enormous serving of mashed potatoes! But that may have been because it was near closing and they wanted to get rid of what was left. They need to print new menus. They've only been open for a year and a half and the menus are already worn out and have several items crossed out with a marker. Overall, we had a great meal and were delightfully surprised to find such nice food and atmosphere in a place wedged between a gym and an auto body shop in Fairview. We'll certainly be back.

We were next door waiting for our car to be finished and noticed this place. It was about lunch time so decided on a light late lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly and attentive waitress, there was only one other table. This was maybe around 3:00pm so after lunch, before dinner. We ordered soup, my husband ordered a cup of chili, which was served very nicely with some kind if bread, maybe a cornbread or something. I ordered the tomato soup, which was also served with some bread. I didn't like the bread, it was a toasted wedge, which may have been tastier if it would have been buttered or maybe a light sprinkling of melted cheese. Prior to bringing the soup they served a complimentary plate of biscuits which were too salty. I love biscuits and I am a salt eater, so for me to say they were salty is really saying something. Not good, and such an easy thing to do right. The soup was very good and hot with a dollop of sour cream or maybe goat cheese or etc, can't remember but it was very tasty and I would order it again. We both enjoyed both soups. The really only negative was the biscuits prior to the soup coming and the bread with the tomato soup. We will go back. It's kind of in an odd location, unless you know it's there you would never notice it. The decor is really nice with a gas fireplace that makes it feel warm and inviting.

This restaurant opened, I believe, 2 or 3 months ago. The location is really close to our home and we were looking forward to having a tasty restaurant a quick walk away. The interior of the restaurant is really nice, and they are building a small patio out front which, when finished, could be a really nice place to hang out in the summer. The servers are incredibly nice and helpful, and has some of the better customer service in Anchorage. They also have a good selection of beer. The food, however, is just sub-par. The first time we went we ordered a steak medium rare which arrived medium well. They offered to re-do it for us, which was great, but because the flavor was still tasty and I hate to think of the waste, I ate it as was. I really enjoyed the seasoning they used on it, but there is really no excuse to be that off on cooking food, especially when there is only one other table present and you have a lot of time to focus on what you are doing. We also ordered the special which was a pasta with halibut on top. The halibut was also seriously overdone, and so dried out. The pasta was hyper-flavored and just too much of whatever they put in it. The second time we went we ordered two varieties of pizza, a margherita and their pulled pork pizza upon recommendation of the server. The margherita had raw tomatoes on top, was almost cold, had almost no basil on it, and was so soggy you could literally not pick up a slice. The pulled pork pizza had good flavor, but also suffered from being luke-warm and soggy. The sogginess was really unbearable, and I have no clue what they did to give us nearly cold and lukewarm pizza that had soaked up that much moisture. We were starving so ate it, but man, it was not good. Again, there was only one other table present, and so no excuse for having food sit around. Nobody asked us how we liked the food this time, so we also didn't share our opinion. We were really disappointed, as we've been hoping that we would get a local pizza joint in our neighborhood that was tasty. We'll try them one more time, but I'm not sure I want to spend money on a mediocre meal again. If you can't find them, they are next to the Anchorage Athletic Club on Gambell. There is very little signage that shows where they are, which is also a bit weird. Hopefully they'll sort that and their food standards soon. Great job on the wait staff though, they are awesome.

The pulled pork was really good. I am a fanatic for pulled pork, and this was one of the better offerings in town. The pieces of pork were much larger than average, which was a simple but great touch. It gave the sandwich more of a meaty texture and intensified the pork flavor, which can easily be drowned by lots of sauce...which was good but not really outstanding. The bun was excellent and the fries were almost perfect for my tastes (skin on, browned and very crisp outside). My partner's turkey Reuben got good reviews as well. I believe they use smoked turkey, which I don't enjoy, but my wife does and was quite happy with. The sweet potato fries were better than most as well. Here's to hoping that breakfast and everything else is as good as the pulled pork.

Late lunch today. Best mushroom burger I have had in Anchorage. Chef created meatball soup was tremendous. Buddy had the Philly beef. He inhaled it and the sweet potato fries. Great front of house manager/server, great design and layout. I am a fan!

Got a flat tire and ended up in their parking lot. I was super hungry so I had no choice but to eat there. I was in no rush at all since I had to wait for a tow truck and I must say initial contact was not so good. I waited about 30 minutes so that the waitress could ask if I wanted to sit and I told her I wanted to go. So she gave me the menu. I was ready to order and it took her about another 20 minutes to remember me. The Margherita Pizza I ordered took another 20 minutes to come out. I was a little disappointed that the quality of pizza wasn't all that great amidst the time I had to wait for it. Although the staff did take a while to get the ball rolling, they were friendly and their food is edible. I suppose if I get another flat tire and end up in that parking lot I will eat there again.

I ordered the Salmon burger and salad, my gf ordered the turkey blt. Her blt was amazing, the bacon was not the only ingredient that had taste, unlike other restaurants. My salmon was cooked too much, but my and her crunchy burnt ends were fantastic. Our Blue Moon's were strong and cold. It only gets an okay since we both would go back to try other stuff, though I really liked her turkey blt. Service was decent, ambiance would've been better if not for the loud drama queens seated right next to you, there might be hipsters/drama queens there!

We went for dinner on Feb. 18. We ordered ribs which came out cold, and two kebab dinners (the special) which had overcooked and dry meat (we ordered it medium rare). The kebabs were advertised to be made from filet mignon, but it sure didn't seem to be but that could be because the preparation was horrible. A dessert Mousse tasted like chocolate pudding right out of a box. The service was fine as was the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the food was really poor. We will not return.

Great downtown neighborhood eatery with free parking, outstanding service and tasty food. Try their pizzas and chili (have to have a cup every time we go there. Haven't had anything we wouldn't recommend.

I, nor my dining partner, had ever heard of the place, as it is a bit off the beaten path, but boy am I glad we decided to pull in. The service was excellent as were the atmosphere and decor. They have a nice fireplace and open airy feel and design. The have a southern flare in there food. We had the Calamari, which was cooked absolutely perfectly with an original, Cumin infused breading, the Ribeye, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked expertly, rare, and the Smoked Tomato Soup was a great and interesting take on an old tradition. A reasonably price really great meal.

My husband and I wanted to find a dinner spot for our first night in Anchorage that wasn't too crowded or touristy, so we went with Downtown Grill and had a nice time. The restaurant had a lot of space, which was a nice change from crowded places like Glacier Brewhouse. So I wouldn't worry about needing a reservation for this place. Also, Downtown Grill has dedicated parking in a private lot, making parking a breeze. The menu was much smaller than I expected, but I settled on the Fish & Chips, and my husband chose the Crab Mac n Cheese. I particularly loved how well the fries were seasoned, although the fish was a bit dry. However, I appreciated that the fish wasn't drowning in oil like other places tend to make it. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Crab Mac n Cheese, and I wish I had ordered it for myself! My favorite part of the meal was the Banana Crème Brulee! It was the best crème brulee I have ever had, and I would go back just for the dessert! Overall, a great place for a quiet night out, but the food options are pretty limited.

When we came in for lunch, my husband had spotted the mixed pound of Clams and Muscles on the dinner menu. So, we headed back for dinner. We started off with the Crab Cakes for our appetizer. I really enjoyed them. Lots of crab. For dinner I ordered the Shrimp Scampl with Linguine. It had 8 or 9 good size shrimp in a wonderful Scampi sauce over the Linguine. The Shrimp were nice and fresh. It came with some grilled toast slices and a salad. I tried the house dressing, a basil vinegrette that went well with the meal. My husband ordered the Clams and Muscles dish. It also had a salad that he got with the Thousand Island Dressing. He said it was a good Thousand Island Dressing. He loved the Clams and Muscles that were in a Champagne sauce if some kind. He said the Clams and Muscles were all fresh. The clam I stole from his plated tasted great. We were too full for desert. Maybe the next time we are in Anchorage we will check out that menu. The service was great. Brittney served us for lunch and was great. Very friendly. She was still there when we went back for dinner, however for dinner we had Adler as our server. Both were very sweet and hard working. Also the place was VERY clean. Good job guys!

I have eaten lunch here on two occasions. Both times the food was excellent! The grilled chicken club sandwich was out of this world! The service was very attentive. The casual atmosphere is elegant without being overstated. In Anchorage, it doesn't give much better!

I had the pulled pork sammy for lunch with sweet potato fries. Best pulled pork in town, hands down. Almost like brisket with burnt ends served Carolina style. The fries were pretty good; they use a cinnamon coating that is very original. The plate came with a side of tangy mustard and a homemade pickle. The service was excellent, the food was excellent. I'd heard it was expensive, but for what you get, I think it was worth it. What a surprise. I recommend this little gem! I'll be coming back to try more.

Charming Smokehouse with a Bar! Great atmosphere! What could be better, the food! Okay, they smoke their own pork and brisket and it's AMAZING! The wife, daughter and I went for a late lunch and we tried their herbed garlic wings as a starter, they went fast! Then I got the brisket sandwich , wife got pulled pork sandwich and daughter got the salmon sandwich. The smokey goodness on the pork and brisket was excellent! Daughter said the Salmon crispy skin-on was cooked to perfection. This is a Gem of Gastronomic Goodness! To make it better they upsell their sandwiches with a sweet potato fries so worth it and not greasy, fried perfection and they serve it with Salted Carmel sauce or Honey Mustard did both! Decadent Treat! Oh and they have Live Music on the weekends! We'll be back and we're taking business clients and friends there!

Love the brisket sandwich, and the pulled pork....#killer! Another thing I liked about the place is the atmosphere. Its one of those "hidden gems" downtown no one knows about. If I would recommend an item to anyone, try the DT Burger.

What a wonderful surprise. Sort of random location but amazing ambience, service, and food. I am a road warrior and my go-to meal is usually burger and fries. I cannot say enough about the burger and fries here. Amazing! Rest of menu looked great and I had a tough time deciding. May go back this week for more. Great place".
