Delicious burgers and onion rings! I always get the Mexican burger (no lettuce) and onion rings. Their fries are kind of.... icky. Lol The customer service is kind of crap. But the place has great decor, prices and burgers. Highly recommend.

Arctic Roadrunner has the best burgers in Anchorage. A massive helping of thick cut fries as a side definitely adds to the awesomeness factor. Try the oreo shake. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Arctic Roadrunner is an Anchorage cornerstone that offers comfort food Alaska style.

One of the best burgers in town! Went there with my girlfriend Saturday (3/28/15) and hasn't changed since I was a kid. The burger menu is diverse and everything is great (she had nature burger, I had mexican burger), we shared large fries, and a coke. Cash only, and works for me. 5/5 stars from me.

I've been eating here since before I was old enough to talk and I honestly believe that was the last time anything was updated on their menu. By no means is that an insult because their food is consistent which is what a lot of Alaskans are looking for but for me I like to see people who keep the same menu option but also try to broaden their horizons with newer options. So for that reason I eat there once in a blue moon which I can't be the only customer with those same feelings.

Their customer service sucks! I tried to customize my fries and the cashier needed to ask the cook how to ring it up. The cook went off on the poor cashier. Rather than saying "you'd have to ring everything up separate" she got nasty and felt the need to explain what they do have on the menu and why!

What happened to one of my favorite burger places? The patty on my bacon cheese burger barely covered half of the bun. The "large" order of onion rings was a total of 10 on a plate. The decor is still pretty neat, but I will get my burger fix at Tommy's from now on.

  • Emily S.

My favorite burger place in town. You cant go wrong with a Bacon Burger!! Simple and YUMMY. You can add all the fixins you want. Sit inside by the fireplace and by the windows viewing the creek! My fave summer spot has been eating my burger outside by the creek! Their fries are just OK. But ill smash my burger every time

Went here today and its the best for I've had in Alaska besides my own. Burgers are fabulous and some of the best onion rings I've ever had! Can't wait to come back.

My us and picked this up to go for us one weekday and he said it was PACKED during the lunch hour, so call ahead to save some time. The food is exactly like the arctic location. The burgers are tastey and hand formed, so it seems. I got the bacon cheese burger and he got some burger with ham and a big slimed pepper (kodiak, maybe). His was not that great, it was too messy without any great justifiable taste. My buger was perfect! They are a solid burger place with a lot of history. It's. It my favorite, but I would come back! Their fries are good too, nothing super special.

I was surprised on how much I actually liked this place. I got a chicken burger with fries. The fries are fresh, real fries! They were delicious. The chicken on my sandwich was delicious and cooked just right. The burgers here are good sized. I was full after one sandwich. My boyfriend got the onion rings and those were delicious! I kept trying to take them because they were delicious. The were crunchy and hot. I think next time I come here, I'd like to try one of their shakes. Those look tasty too.

Ordered a French dip and chocolate shake. They're a cash only burger place. You go up to the counter and order your food then wait. For whatever reason, they totally ignored my French dip and served at least ten people that ordered after me. By the time I got my sandwich, my coworkers were almost done with their lunches. Sandwich was okay, not fabulous 3-star if I'm being generous. Shake was excellent, definitely a 5 star. Staff was super nice, at least at the front counter. Front counter girl checked on my sandwich (twice) each time kitchen staff said "working on it". The burgers looked really good. I won't order the French dip again.

This is "the burger joint" in anchorage. Good basic cheeseburger. Yummy milkshakes. French fries are just okay. Get the homemade o pieces instead. Cash only

Love this place second best burgers in town in my opinion and that was not an easy choice to make! I am a creature of habit so tend to get the same thing at a lot of places because I know it's good but have not been disappointed by any selection here. Nice atmosphere, and a lot of history a must stop for any burger enthusiast

An Alaskan landmark. My mother brought me here in 1970's and I've been coming back ever since. The best burgers and 50's style diner food in town.

  • Erica C.

Great place to grab a quick bite to eat! Their prices are super affordable as well. We ordered two burgers, fries and a soda--all for under $20. I had the salmon burger and it was delicious. It comes with the option of beans or coleslaw as well. The salmon burger isn't made with your typical salmon patty. It was actually a salmon filet. Seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of tartar sauce. You order at the counter upon entering. Food comes out super fast. They even have a fireplace you can sit by during the cold winter days! Will definitely be back to try their other burgers and sandwiches.

Okay, Arctic Roadrunner. You've been around for many, many years. This does NOT excuse you for allowing mice to run around your dining area. While it was great entertainment for the children, to see a plump little rodent scurrying here and there was inexcusable. The food looked great, but if vermin are in the dining area, what's in the kitchen? Sad to see it, as this place is a landmark. Discreetly notified a staffer who acknowledged the little visitor. Another diner told a different staffer who said "oh yes, we know about it." Oh. No.

Arctic Roadrunner is an Anchorage classic and it's like a time capsule with all the older pictures of early Alaska plastered on every inch of the restaurant. There's a great view of a little river outside and I'd take anyone visiting AK for the first time here to see a nice little AK tourist attraction. With that being said, the food is as old school as the restaurant itself. I'm all for the classics and I love it when they keep the traditional cooking people have loved for many decades but it's honestly a little bland. I, as most americans, eat a lot of burgers and the burgers here are just regular. It's not that I don't like the food, it's just nothing specifically special either. Maybe I should try a fish or chicken sandwich but when you're a burger joint and your burgers are just regular, its most likely the rest of your food will be also. It's a cute place and the food is fast but I wouldn't consider them one of the top burger joints in Anchorage as many do.

Read and heard all the fuss about this hamburger establishment so had to check it out for myself. The interior decoration is warm and welcoming, staff is great and friendly , plenty of seating and nice and clean. On to the food, I've eaten here twice so far both my trips to Anchorage, and let me tell you the hamburgers are delicious! They have a superb and tasty homemade thing to them and are very filling and large portioned hamburgers. Also tried the homemade onion rings and loved them! I definitely think everyone should make the trip here whether you're visiting or local! Oh and Cash Only!

    (4)
  • Ed B.

The Nature Burger, fries and blueberry shake were as good as ever, they never change and always put out good burgers. The only minus is that they only take cash, no credit cards.

    (4)
  • Cameron A.

Retro style, ok prices, good food. Recommend. I ordered a bacon burger which turned out to be very large and have a satisfying amount of bacon.

  • Shaunevalice L.

I don't give 5stars but this one is well deserved! I was recommended here by a local company Microcom, the Sales rep told me that this was the place if I liked burgers. And can I say the rest is history or should I say the burger was, I ordered the bacon burger and it was great, bun lightly toasted, meat juicy, bacon crispy and all veggies fresh, I sat in the back beside the fireplace... YES I said fireplace with real wood burning and the decor made me feel like I stepped back in time! I love this place and will be back!

  • Lauren G.

This was a fun place! I was a little overwhelmed by all the options. Great service. Great burgers. Great decorations and feel. I ate my burger at a table by the creek and it was all fantastic.

  • Nicodemus F.

Amazing halibut fish sandwich. Only second to a fish sandwich that I had in the upper peninsula of Michigan. So very good. The space is great because you can read about all important Alaskans --- past and present.

Visitors to Anchorage, if you're looking for a really Alaska-y place to dine, it doesn't get any better than the Old Seward location of Arctic Roadrunner. The architecture, the decor, the art are all what you've been dreaming about. It's charmingly located overlooking the creek which is a dream in the summer time. In winter, you can cozy up by the fire and enjoy the winter view. Arctic Roadrunner is real Anchorage establishment that's been here since long before it was fashionable to visit Alaska. Arctic Roadrunner has that awesome "all American" vibe that harkens back to a simpler time. It's the kind of place that everyone remembers visiting as a kid. It's a cash only, simple burger joint where the milk shakes and onion rings reign supreme. A place where your taste buds will give a sigh of relief. Ahhhh yes.... this is what we were missing. Don't miss it. This is a dying breed of mom n pops hard to find these days. You'll get the best of Alaska and a dose of nostaglia in one delicious bite.

Great burgers. Homemade onion rings different. Cash only. Interesting decor. Loud - not a place for quiet conversation

    (4)
  • Hayley B.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and I've always looked forward to it every time I come home to visit my parents. The arctic cheeseburger and onion pieces are so good, also love their shakes. Unfortunately, the past two times we have gone there has been an unusual amount of gristle in the meat. Normally this has never ever happened at this place so I'm wondering if they switched suppliers or are getting a not so good grade of meat? I want to see this place succeed and be as good as it was before because it was seriously amazing before the meat changed.

  • Nicole O.

Best meal in Alaska thus far! 50 years in business perfected that halibut burger I'm guessing and their housemade onion pieces were simple, yet yum. Fries were it worth the space but worth the risk. Cash only reminded me of the Mission SF and didn't bother me. Would've been nice to have a beer but otherwise it was a great meal with a nice view of the creek.

    (4)
  • V J.

Not from Alaska, had high yelp reviews so I figured I would give it a try. Pretty much an inedible burger with low quality beef. The French dip was underwhelming as well. Pretty horrific food in general, though the art on the walls was interesting

    (2)
  • Lenora N.

You gotta try the turkey sandwich! The best sandwich! This place also has a cozy atmosphere with old pics on wall to look at and a pickle bar! I'd recommend this place to anyone. But remember that they only accept cash

    (5)
  • Aspid A.

This is a guilty pleasure kind of place. It is so much fun to bring the kids here in the spring and summer and sit down by the creek. The ONLY reason that it makes me feel guilty is that I have to ignore the right wing red neck propaganda that adorns the walls. Keep your eyes on the menu and this place is perfect.

    (3)
  • Heather V.

This place just knows how to make a burger! Everytime I order a burger somewhere else I pay double the price and get half the quality. If you want a great burger this is the place!

    (5)
  • Mike D.

Probably the best burger in Anchorage. However, the service is mediocre, they still only accept cash and the place is stuck in the 70's. They also close down the best seating area that overlooks Campbell Creek when they are slow. It saves them from having to wipe down about five tables. It would be better just to let people sit where they want.

    (3)
  • John P.

I've like this place since the 90s..The only bummer deal is that they do not accept credit cards.

    (3)
  • Kendall D.

Always a favorite when in Anchorage, very good everything! They only take greenbacks!

    (4)
  • Bob C.

This is probably the best burger in Anchorage, but it comes with a price. Two of us had the bacon cheeseburger, shared onion rings (which were fantastic), and a delicious shake for $30.00....It's not In-N-Out prices, but oh so very good. 5 stars on food, but 3 stars on the price to give a 4 star average.

  • K. L.

I went here for the first time in my adult life. I used to hate burgers but recently I've been a big fan. After having been ruined by the Cheesy Double- Double Animal Style at In-n-Out in LA, I was skeptical. Stepping inside I was already in love with the local-Alaskan theme. It's set up like an old school burger joint. After making my selection off the big menu, Kodiak Islander with a side of chips, I went and sat down. Oh, that's another nice thing. I said 'chips' and they knew what I meant. I really enjoyed reading about some of the local people who have frequented the burger joint. The food was out quickly and was fresh! I ate the whole thing. 5/5, I will be back.

  • HJ Y.

I love love love this place. Their Alaskan wild salmon burger and halibut burgers are my favorite. This place is cash only, and doesn't take any tips.

  • Edward H.

Simple, yummy, and sloppy: sometimes that's all you need in a burger, and you can find that here. This place has been voted for best burgers in Anchorage, and it definitely was a pretty solid and tasty burger. Very Alaskan feel to the building and decorations inside also. Great place to grab a quick cheap bite. 4 stars from Hit and Run Travel : )

    (4)
  • Chance S.

This place is without a doubt the best place to get a burger in Anchorage. I would be happy to give them 5 stars if only they took credit cards. I asked the person behind the counter and they said that the owner wants to keep it old school. That doesn't make good business sense to me, but he has the burgers down to a science. Lunch is fast too. If you want to hurry and get some food for lunch, I can't think of a better place. The location is great to get in and our from any part of the city as well. Even if you are a tourist and new to the area, this place is a must try.

Arctic Roadrunner is Anchorage's best full-service burger bar. By full service I mean that AR has more than just hamburgers. You've got a few sandwiches, salmon burgers, and halibut burgers. Great fries, shakes, etc... I do love their salmon burger. It's fresh and tasty. The burgers are a good size - not too big and not too small. The buns are a soft white tasty buttered buns. Overall AR is a really great place. The setting of the place is just plain awesome. It's located on the banks of Campbell Creek and is really almost magical. It's one of the best places to enjoy the few sunny summer weekends we have in Alaska. My only complaint is they're not open on Sunday. It's a free country I guess but it bums me out.

Well-seasoned beef patty and a choice of American or Mozzarella cheese. I ordered my burger on a wheat bun which was oversized for the burger but the burger was an adequate size. My next to last night in Anchorage but first time here. Had no idea about the rushing shallow creek (Campbell Creek) adjacent to the ample patio. The patio was full when I went around 7pm on a Wednesday with families and couples enjoying the food and the lovely summer evening. If I'm ever in Anchorage again, I will remember this place and return. The ambience was pleasant with 48 years of memorabilia from customers and generations of customers. Some booths overlooked the creek, which was nice. I can see how it has remained a local favorite for 48 years!

  • Jack S.

I love their burgers, onion pieces (super greasy but better than the rings), and homemade milkshakes! The very basic Attu burger is my favorite. They season the meat just right and keep it fresh. The fish sandwich would be my second choice but still so tasty. Their condiments bar with extra pickles (spicy if you like), onions, and other items is a bonus. AR has a great outdoor picnic area on warm days by the creek. You may even see salmon swimming upstream while you dine. But the inside can be just as entertaining with all their loyal customer pictures and history. Their fireplace is great on cold days. Very Alaksan -- very cool. Their other location, actually on Arctic, does have a drive-thru. Either place give your order time to be cooked and assembled. This is semi-fast food. For a half hour lunch break it is an extremely tight squeeze. Note: AR only accepts CASH as payment - no exceptions. ATM next door at the Chevron station with a fee of course.

as good as it gets!! traditional and old time anchorage. This is a must visit restaurant, a lot of history on the walls here. This place is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in anchorage. The owner is usually there and loves to sit down and talk with the customers. Onion pieces and shakes and amazing burger's galore!!! it's so nice to come and sit by the water on a nice warm day:) I can't explain how amazing this place is!!!!

  • Bob V.

A great evening sitting by the stream enjoying great burgers. One of the best burgers in town but the fries and onion rings were a disappointment. Fries were soft and rings greasy even though I got their fresh ones. Next time I'll try the frozen ones.

I've eaten there several times and their food is okay. Its not outstanding or any better than most burger places in town. My last experience though is the reason I will never return. We walked in about 7:55pm thinking they were closing at 8:30 but they close at 8pm. We did get to order. We talked about getting a shake to go but decided to wait until we were going to leave to order it. We then changed our mind and tried to order a shake but was told by the cashier that she had already closed out her register. This was only 5 minutes after we had placed our order. Then while we were waiting on our burgers to be cooked, the cashier started clearing all the condiments up. She knew we were there but didn't seem to care we might want some pickles, ketchup, mustard, etc. We had to ask the cook for condiments. If we came in so close to closing, why didn't the cashier say they weren't serving anymore. But if you are going to let us order, we should have the same availability to the condiments as everyone else. It seemed like the cashier couldn't wait to clean up and this was all happening right at 8pm when they were supposed to close. The cashier couldn't at least wait until we had our food and then ask us if we wanted anything else before cleaning up? The owner or manager was sitting there while this was happening and didn't say a word. There are other burger places just as good in town and I won't be going back to this place.

You know, hadn't been here in 15 years...and now I'm asking why 'cause this place is an Anchorage gem. The large space was packed at lunchtime, for good reason: great burgers at a good price, quick service. Hard to find any value like this in our fair city.

  • Linda L.

Fabulous place to eat. I had the halibut burger and it was delicious. Others in the group had chicken burger and hamburger and said they were just as good. Coleslaw and French fries were tasty, too. If you dare try their tomato salsa- it is good but spicy.

There arent enough of these places around! Thats pretty much all i got to say. I love em!

  • Lard Belly E.

This is a really old establishment. The interior is pretty Alaskan with long time customers' pictures adorning the walls. This place is pretty decent for burger, but I tend to burp it up for hours afterward which is kind of gross. You order the burger by itself and can order fries or onion rings. You don't want a burger? Get a fish, or chicken, or grilled cheese sandwich. Pretty easy on the wallet for three people with coffee, sandwiches, and 2 fries for about $17. One thing to note is this place is cash only, and you don't tip the cashiers.

Great burger and fries, lots of menu choices too. Very reasonable in price and great location where you can sit outside on Cambell creek.

Update! Now that I am able to talk about this meal without worrying that it was going to violently fly out of both of my ends. So, I agreed to go with my taller half, thinking, I will order a veggie burger. Arctic Roadrunner does not have a veggie burger, but has a "nature" burger that has a whole wheat bun and sprouts. This seemed unappealing, so I got the next healthiest option, a halibut burger. When the burger arrived, it was a cheap white bread bun with two spoonfuls of mayonnaise, three strands of iceburg lettuce, and a slab of halibut with a slice of American cheese on top. In retrospect, I think maybe, the halibut and mayo were mixed the way tuna and mayo are mixed. Even despite what appeared to be flavoring in the halibut - what else could those flecks of green and brown have been - it was the most flavorless thing ever, literally, water has more flavor. So, for those white bread mayonnaise sandwich lovers, GO HERE! It's got so much of everything you love, in just one sandwich.

To put it simply, Arctic Roadrunner is a great Alaskan establishment. It's the kind of place whether you grow up eating here, or visit just once as a tourist, you come away with a satisfying experience. The food is reasonably priced and the burgers are tasty. The meat is fresh and juicy. Nice condiment bar, too. On a warm day, sitting outdoors by Campbell Creek is a real treat. There is live music sometimes as well. Highly recommend!

Ive been going here for over 16 years now and love this place. I have been going since I was 6 years old and have tried many things here. There bugers are the best, the turkey sandwich is my go to, the grilled cheese when I was little was the best and the BLT is great. The best part, the milkshakes! The fries are awesome also. Fast service always and always packed! I love the summer time when you can go sit outside in the sun by the river and eat. A must go!

  • K S.

I LOVE ARCTIC ROADRUNNER! Another restaurant on my must visit in Anchorage. The burgers are greasy goodness and you won't be disappointed. I usually get the Arctic cheese and split fries and homemade onion pieces with my dining companions. The onion pieces are the best onion ring like item I've ever had anywhere. They are absolute deliciousness. The burgers are made fresh to order, and you can stock up at their great condiment bar while waiting. Outdoor seating options abound in the summer, and its always nice to cozy up to the fireplaces in the winter. You can't go wrong with a milkshake. I love looking at all the photographs - yet another Anchorage classic. Come prepared - cash only!

Arctic Cheeseburger and Oreo shake were pretty darn good; if you go, get the homemade onion rings not the frozen.

We went here a few times and I must say I was not all that impressed. I think everyone should go once and experience the decor, but as far as the food.... I think I will pass. I do like the toppings bar, the fresh salsa is really good. I am not amused with the CASH ONLY policy. Really? I thought Alaska was still the United States and they don't take credit or debit? really? And the" Know what you want before you get in the line" is crazy too because I had questions the first time and they acted crazy. The question was ... Are the burgers really big? should we split one between us? she said: "You would have to decide that when you get your order" Somebody slept through the customer service class I see. I like the fireplace, I like the photos on the walls, I like the stream outside nice to sit outside in the summer. I do not like the texture of the meat..... is it moose? I know they serve several kinds of burgers. I typically stayed with the Salmon after tasting the "cheeseburger" the first time. Bottom line.... Try it but take CASH and go ahead and memorize the menu before you get in line.

Its a burger place, nothing fancy, they have a variety of burgers to choose from, I had a bacon cheese burger that was very tasty, as was the shake. Fries were good but a bit greasy. If im ever back in town would go back to try another burger

Very poor service. The cashier never looked us during the order but only to say hi to her friends. The food was ok.

Ambiance: Alaskan Casual. Expect to see everything from bunny boots to gucci handbags. (probably a knock-off) I sat by the window on the creek side and watched the ducks play. five stars for the ambiance. Staff: Only employee i seen was the cashier. She did not seem to be in a good mood. Food: I felt like having a two burger lunch, so I ordered the Bacon Burger and the American Burger. Wow! these burgers hit the spot. Juicy, with a great taste. The pickle bar is a great feature. The amount of bacon was perfect. Both of these burgers will be added to my Darn Good Burger list. Prices: Great Bacon Burger, American Burger and a soda: 14.00 I will definitely return to try more of the burgers and chili bowl that I seen another customer enjoying.

I love a good, old-fashioned American cheeseburger. To me, it is the ultimate in comfort food. I love this location, due to it being situated next to Campbell Creek. They have tables and benches arranged outside in the summer time so you can enjoy the creek while eating some of the best burgers in town. I also love that old-timey, Alaskan atmosphere. This location is a log cabin-like structure and the inside walls sports a lot of old, Alaskan memorabilia. I've lived here all my life and I do not get the "tourist trap" feeling here, certainly not in the way some of the shops downtown have turned into real tourist traps. Their food here is great also, fresh and made-to-order. The menu is pretty extensive, specilizing in burgers, but also a number of other sandwiches and food items. Try their homemade onion rings for a treat! I also LOVE their milkshakes made with real vanilla soft serve ice cream. My favorite is chocolate, but my husband like the blackberry milkshake. Arctic Roadrunner is an Alaskan mainstay and I hope to have many, many more opportunities to go here.

  • Sandy E.

Excellent burger, great shake, and crazy Alaskan decor. What more could a tourist ask for? Funny thing though, most of the people eating here were not tourists. I had lunch at the location on Old Seward Highway and we were not disappointed. One cheeseburger, two salmon burgers, one large order of homemade onion rings, and one small peanut butter shake and we were waddling out of the restaurant fully satisfied and ready for a nap. The burger was great, and my folks gave the salmon burgers a thumbs-up too. I think we all thought the homemade onion rings (hand breaded and pan fried) were the best thing we had but everything was really good. I don't know what all the whining is about, but yes, this is a cash only place. BONUS: There's all kinds of crazy pictures of customers and their families, posters from the 1980s about "You Know You're In Trouble When ...", and moose heads all over the walls. There's also a fireplace in the restaurant and outdoor creek-front seating -- both weather depending. DOUBLE BONUS: There was this crazy 20-something half-rockabilly, style-confused couple eating lunch at the same time we were. It was funny to see how badly they pulled off this already questionable California trend. Actually, the people watching here was pretty good. Although I'm not about to start making fun of Bubba because Bubba's probably packing.

Arctic Roadrunner has great burgers and the halibut sandwich is awesome. Real good shakes. The homemade onion rings are a must try. Nice condiment bar. Sitting out by the creek on a nice day can't be beat. As far as "wait time", all that means is if you have to wait a whole 10-15 minutes (such a looong time) it means the food is freshly prepared and not sitting in the back waiting for someone to order it. It does take time to cook food or do people think that restuarants have some magic grill or oven? I love the sayings on the walls and the old pictures are pretty cool also. I won't be boycotting it as someone else suggested. The signs don't seem to bother most people since everytime I have gone there it is packed.

Good Burger. I went here for lunch and ordered a cheese burger with the works. It had 2 types of cheese, ham, lettuce, a chili pepper, and more. It didn't blow my mind, but it was not bad. All burgers are cooked to med-well, but they accommodated my request for a medium. They did a great job not overcooking my burger. The meat seemed to take a backup roll, but that may have been because of the burger I ordered. Also ordered a side of "homemade" onion pieces. These were just ok. There was very little flavor but the were cooked to perfection. The were basically onion rings that didn't hack the name "Ring". A business that doesn't accept card's or checks, only cash. Not a bad thing for me since they have an ATM in store. I have been to another burger joint in the Lower 48 that did this, but the nearest ATM was over 5 miles away. So I was pleasantly surprised they had an ATM indoors. The roadrunner has a pickle and condiment bar that was very nice. I do wish they did more than just regular mustard. To top it off, this restaurant has outdoor seating right next to the creek that is great for a warm summer day. This was a great feature. Overall a good experience. Not a bad burger but not the most flavorful. I would return again with friends.

This long time Alaskan burger joint has been serving the locals since the 1960's. Their burgers and hand made shakes are pretty good but the real reason to visit this place is the many photos on every inch of the walls. Each photo represents a story of the many people that have worked and lived in the last frontier.

One of the top five burgers in town! Old fashioned bugers, with a fantastic relish bar to add what ever you like as much as you like. The fireplace is very nice in the winter and the atmosphere is true Alaska. Be ready to go down memory lane with hundreds of photos and storys of true sourdough Alaskans. Come hungry and bring cash! They don't take credit cards.

Just dropped by there as errands took me to that side of town. I had a bacon cheeseburger and regular fries and a tap water ($8.80) and took it all down to eat creekside (Campbell Creek). The burger was excellent and the fries were solid. Highly recommend eating at this (the flagship) location and eating outside by the creek on a nice sunny Alaskan summer day!

I have heard many a tale about this fantastic and very nostalgic burger restaurant. It has great Alaskan atmosphere, it is cheap, and the food is top notch. The burgers are simply delicious, with seasoned meat and tons of exotic condiments to make them even more dazzling. There is not table service, you order right up at the counter but it blows any "fast food" franchise out of the water. Great decor, nice location, easy parking, very good sloppy old school burgers.

Arctic Roadrunner is the best burger I've had in town. The fries and rings are pretty good, and its worth it to get a shake. Local restaurant, with a real Alaskan spirit. It's always a treat to sit down and enjoy a bite here.

Knick-knacks on the wall, lots of photos of anyone and everyone, delicious burger, fastest take-out. It was snowing so all I could do was gaze at the outdoor seating and imagine eating there in the summer by the creek. The burgers range from basic to fun Mexican style- meaty and delicious. The fries are potatoes at their best and the shakes thick and oh so creamy. I am glad I followed advice and made the pilgrimage. Portions are larger than the icky McD's and prices about the same. If I lived in Anchorage I think that this place would be dangerous for me.

  • J I.

  • Akilah B.

Love this place second best burgers in town in my opinion and that was not an easy choice to make! Nice atmosphere, and a lot of history a must stop for any burger enthusiast

  • Tasha L.

Not from Alaska, had high yelp reviews so I figured I would give it a try. Pretty much an inedible burger with low quality beef. The French dip was underwhelming as well. Pretty horrific food in general, though the art on the walls was interesting

  • Gale K.

Fabulous place to eat. I had the halibut burger and it was delicious. Others in the group had chicken burger and hamburger and said they were just as good. Coleslaw and French fries were tasty, too. If you dare try their tomato salsa- it is good but spicy.

A must go!
