High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

I like the food, the food is ALWAYS good and prepared every time according to my finicky tastes. but over and over again, you have to chase down the waiter, when you get the waiter, they get the order wrong, or have to go get something, or you wait FOREVER to get something. The tea was supposed to be ENDLESS, that does not mean one filling. I had to flag down the greeter to get ice for my watered down tea. I have been here three times this summer and this was the last time. I don't mind going someplace else if I get my food in a timely manner and warm and some attention paid to me. I think if they are paying the servers more so they don't have to work for tips - it is a very big mistake.

Omg. The place smells like urine. The staff was out in the Back smoking. I saw a cook sticking his hands in his pants Doing something. The manager had no clue as to what was going on. Please dont eat the food. You will probably Get sick. I walked out after about 8-10 minutes. Close the doors and shut it down. Health department please.

I warned him. But despite the shitty reviews, Big Papa wanted to have his Father's Day meal here. When all was said and done, he gave his meal 1 star. My meal was a 3, for an average of 2. This is just not a good Applebees. It's small, poorly lit, poorly staffed and the cooks are clearly struggling. Don't get a steak from here because I think their grill master must be multitasking rather than focusing on making a proper steak. Baked potato was undercooked. App was tasty but crazy greasy. Gotta say their seasonal 3 Pig sammich was really, really good. Good enough that I might be enticed to pop in once more to grab one before it phases out. Other than that, I'll pass. And oh yeah, 5.50 for a Corona is robbery.

By far the worst Applebee's I have been to for food and semi-service. The server seemed new, so I won't knock her for that, but she was just so annoying when it came to ordering, she kept coming back every minute or two and we just hadn't looked at the menus yet. I ordered the 7 oz sirloin and it was one of the nastiest steaks I have ever had from an Applebee's. It was hard to cut, more on the rare side than medium rare and it tasted like it wasn't fully defrosted and/or had been frozen for way to long. The veggies were just okay at least they were cooked. For the extra $1.99 for sauteed mushrooms I barely had enough to cover my steak. I won't be coming back to you Applebee's for a steak, I will definitely go to one of the steakhouses. I can't believe your prices for steaks are up to $20.00 almost! So not worth it.

Very... VERY slow service. Took about 15 minutes from the time we sat until someone came to our table to ask for drinks. We were told it took a while because the staff was confused on whose section we were in. Kiwi tea was lacking flavor. My pasta was alright and wife loved her steak. I waited a long time for our server to check on us to ask for more kiwi syrup for my tea. Finally, I asked Dominick who was the host and this guy is AMAZING. Not only did he go above and beyond to take care of adding more syrup but he came back a few minutes later to check up and see how everything was. He's the only good thing going for this restaurant, besides the steak. Not impressed.

If only I could give zero stars... Sat waiting in the carside-to-go spot for 25 minutes. Ten of those minutes were spent on hold, after basically giving my entire order again. No explanations on when the food might arrive, and no apologies. Finally get the order, and unfortunately didn't check it (at this point, I was fifteen minutes past my lunch half-hour and needed to get back to work). There was no chicken in the fiesta "chicken" salad (with wilted lettuce), and they had completely left off one of the soups ordered. Called the "manager" and requested a refund on the missing soup, and wish I had asked for a refund on the salad as well. Still no apologies for the shoddy service. Maybe other locations are better, but avoid this Applebee's like the plague!

It's your standard, neighborhood Applebee's. You can expect the same decor and food here as pretty much every other Applebee's in the country. And while, sure, nothing here is noteworthy, I did find the service to be very good. The bartender was extremely friendly and attentive. Nice and chipper guy. And my order came out correct and fast. Not sure I could've asked more of an Applebee's.

I normally don't review chain restaurants because you probably already know what you are getting into before you go in, but I thought I would make an exception this time. And if you have to use yelp to tell you Applebee's is a chain and they are all about the same, you need to put down the electronic device and step away for a moment. The food was Applebee's. The burger was ok. The Mountain Dew was Mountain Dew. The fries came out in a mass that stuck together for some reason, but ok nonetheless. Everything was warm that was supposed to be warm and cold that was supposed to be cold and everything was eatable. Like I said, it was Applebee's. Here is the odd part that made me review the restaurant. The waitress was carrying her baby on her hip!?!? Come on! What's that about? I know people want to see their children more but you don't see me carrying my kids into the hospital while I'm seeing patients! Plain and simple. The manager needs to put a stop to that. It's unprofessional. I guess that 2 stars is par for this restaurant and this might be part of the problem.

Service: Carside orders are never on time. You usually have to call or walk in and bug the staff to get your order. Last time we received the wrong order and halved avocados with the skin and sticker still on them in our salads. Gross. Carside to go signs should say 20 min limit. They can't do it in less.

Wow, 80's music at a bar okay? I said 'this music is a bad choice for a bar' and the server came up and said rudely 'I picked this music I'm tired of the Britney Spears, Bruno Marz crap' really? I don't care who picked the music it's still crappy. And who says I like Bruno Marz? Or Britney spear? Silence would be better then this music or her rude excuse for picking it. No wounded it's dead here so often.

The food never tastes right. In fact, I've never had a single good meal at this place. One time, they gave me the wrong order. Another time, they gave me food with hair sticking out of it. Another time, my food was cold. Another time, our waitress was new, and management was chewing her out in front of us. I stay away from Applebee's.

I've been curious for a long time about the Applebee's free meal offer for veterans on Veterans Day. I looked over the reviews, and I was not that impressed with what I saw. I decided to see for myself, and headed on over. The place was mobbed at 4 PM. It looked like every active duty military person and veteran alike all thought the same thing. Go early and beat the crowds. Not so. I groaned as I braced for the hostess to take my name and tell me what the wait time was. You know what? They got this program nailed! The wait was only ten minutes, she asked me how many veterans in my party, and it was a really pleasant experience. Our server was quick and friendly. He asked me to see proof of my service, and I showed him the "V" on the American flag on my driver's license. He recognized it immediately and required no more documentation. There was a special free menu for vets that was limited to about seven items. Plenty to choose from. I ordered the 7 ounce sirloin steak with baked potato and steamed veggies. I like my cow on the mooing side and ordered it rare. My girlfriend ordered Cajun shrimp pasta off the real person menu since she is not a vet. Now, I told you that I ordered my steak rare. I always do since it's been my experience that chain places like this don't know the difference between rare and charred. How mistaken I was! It was perfectly cooked, tasty, and well-seasoned. I really like the way Applebee's recognizes the sacrifice of veterans. I'll be back to pay for a meal in the future as my way of saying thanks to them. Oh, BTW. I asked my server what the going rate was for the steak dinner since I believe in tipping on the actual value and not the discounted value. With a full 20% tip, our dinner cost $21.

I must say I had a very bad experience at this location the other day. I went in hoping for a decent meal and right from the start I had a bad experience. I went with a friend and we were waiting for a booth only to have someone that came in after us getting seated in a booth before us. There was a dirty bucket sitting at the floor by the hostess stand that they continued to use and clean tables with dirty water. The booth we were sat at was dirty and we had to ask them to clean it. The server took forever to come up and greet us. The manager walked by us three times prior to our server greeting us and he said nothing either. We ordered an appetizer and they brought it out with dirty plates and silverware that had food stuck to it from previous diners. We sent it back and had them bring us clean dishes. The food was okay. My friend ordered dessert and once again we were brought out DIRTY dishes! I was so upset by this time that we mentioned our frustration to the server to which she did nothing. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I have had pleasant experiences with Applebees in the past, but this visit has made me lose a lot of faith in this chain. I hope they can turn it around, but as for me, I will not be dinning here for quite some time.

If you want to be served with cold food and waitreses with overly done make up, this is the place! Should've gotten the overly seasoned french onion soup. At least it'll be hot.

It's not a great place to eat, or even all that good, but it does have a decent margarita and with low expectations one can find a meal for a decent price. They have lunch combos where you can get soup, salad, or pasta combinations for under $9. I like the chicken salad with the poppyseed dressing, pretty tasty though fattening.

Took our oldest grandson to Applebees for his birthday because he got a free birthday dinner certificate from Applebee's for his good grades. It was fairly busy for a Monday night but we were seated right away. The waitress quickly took our order and went out of her way to make our grandson feel super special. He really like the games on the kid's menus and played a red hot game of connect the dots. My wife and I tried the 550 calorie dinners. The peppercorn steak with shrimp was cooked to perfection but the Asian shrimp with noodles was just ok. It was a good time. To top it off a huge bull moose walked right by the side windows.

Service sucks. Took a hour and half to get food for a party of 3, one person didn't even get her meal. It took another hour to get her meal, which they wouldn't take off our check. The sandwiches were cold and it took forever to flag someone down to get a refill on an iced tea.

I'm still shocked that I can justify a one star rating for a chain. I mean, to qualify as a chain, you must be doing something right. Right? Not at this Applebee's. The food is inedible. And that's a lot coming from me. I have a strict, do not return food policy (I don't trust waiters once I complain about food and send it back), and as such I had to just content myself with the appetizers we ordered. The service was horrendous. Yes, I understand that you're paid next to nothing to wait on our tables. But the only way to increase your income is by treating customers with any amount of attention so that we know we even have a waitress to tip. And asking for a sippy cup for a small child should not receive a roll of the eyes and shake of the head. I'm doing you a favor by requesting this--cleaning up sticky drinks is nobody's favorite job. I've been to Applebee's in other cities where the food isn't so terrible (granted, it wasn't fantastic either), so I know it is possible. I'm not sure why this one has failed so miserably, but I'm confounded as to why it is still open and in business. My guess is that the bar must have some great drink specials that lull the guests into a drunken stupor that is strong enough to have them forget the nastiness that they're eating. My recommendation, burn the place down. It really is that bad.

Came here on a Sunday around 8pm. The girlfriend insisted it was good. Turn out to be a alright place. Service was so slow.I had to wave down another server just to get refills on water. Food was ok. The inside just look dirty. Won't see me coming back.

I had not been to an Applebee's in several years. In a moment of weakness on both parties, my girlfriend and I both said to each other "hey, we should try Applebee's". Let us be honest, people make mistakes daily. This was the worst one I had made in weeks. We knew going in at this late hour would be dicey but gave it a go. I ordered the Overly Salty Greased Cardboard w/Beer flavored Cheese Skin Dip (Beer cheese dip with "pretzels") and she the run of the mill chicken tenders. Server was a bit crazy. Employees did not care about their tables and would constantly go outside to do God only knows what. If they were not outside, they were yukking it up loudly in and near the kitchen. The place looked as if a gummy bear-cheerios-confetti bomb had gone off. There is a sign posted that states if the manager does not visit your table you get a discount or blah blah. An overly cheesy guy (who I assume was the manager) came to our table and commented how the cheese dip and pretzels (which i could only stomach 1.5 of 4) were "totally addictive, huh?!"...I could not bring myself to tell him the truth.

I love coming here for a quick lunch, dinner, or just some drinks with friends. Such a friendly atmosphere and the food is great. I love the boneless wings and blanco queso dip! Great dinner deals - 2 for $20 includes an appetizer to share and 2 entrees. Love it!

Walked in and it was not the odor I was expecting to find in a restaurant. The food was of poor quality. Applebee's can do better. I have been to other Applebee's in NY and there are no comparisons. These guys in Alaska are below standard.
