The Tucando data center is housed in a blast-resistant concrete structure with 18-inch thick steel-reinforced walls. The DPTE building has been redeveloped to accommodate the specific needs of its telecommunications and data communications clientele.

Service is provided to the building by Arizona Public Service (APS). The property has diverse physical power entry vaults from the downtown network grid, which is fed from multiple sub-stations. Building electrical service consists of multiple, redundant 2,000kva 480-volt transformers.

Emergency Power

Tucando features multiple diesel generators. These generators are used to support the main electrical service for the data center and mechanical equipment in the event of service interruptions or low voltage conditions. Power is distributed via 480V, 3 phase, 4 wire bus duct.

The facility features biometric, physical and other access control devices, as well as manned security and video surveillance. Customers maintain secure 24/7/365 access to the data center. The data center features concrete walls, floors and ceilings, conforming to the strictest physical security standards.

Environment

Tucando data center environments are temperature and particulate controlled. Raised floor systems, overhead duct systems, Liebert HVAC units and other elements are used to create superior airflow and heat dissipation. Battery Backup

The datacenter is fed from multiple grids through loop-fed transformers and diverse entry vaults with 2 x 3,000 Amp (480v) A/C feeds. Tucando uses top-of-the-line UPS systems for protection against power spikes and outages. If power is ever lost, the datacenter is backed by on-site back-up power generation from dual 1.5MVA diesel generators with 80,000 gallon diesel reserves.

Security measures include state-of-the-art biometric, physical and other access control devices, manned 24/7/365 security and video surveillance. For enhanced protection, the facility features advanced fire detection and suppression, which includes state-of-the-art pre-action fire protection and life safety systems. The datacenter utilizes a temperature and particulate controlled environment with Liebert HVAC units, arranged in redundant paths with 18 foot ceiling heights for superior heat loss and airflow.

Tucando utilizes other enhanced internal security measures as well to protect customer data from potential Internet fraud or theft. Only Tucando employees are provided badges to enter the Tucando corporate office. Only Tucando network administrators have access into the Data Center , which requires badge, keypad and fingerprint scanning to gain entrance.

Network Redundancy

Having backup systems in place is critical in the web hosting industry. Tucando utilizes hot and cold standbys for all network equipment, investing hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide uninterrupted connections for all servers and all customers. The Cisco switches utilized even have internal redundancy, so the hot and cold standbys are built into the hardware itself.
