Stan's can sure cook up some mean fries ... Add some fry sauce and your in heaven ... Or Zion. Depending on which way your pickle points. This is a true Happy Valley hot spot!

Decent prices on fast food (burgers and shakes and onion rings and fries) that doesn't have that disgusting chain feel.

This place is clean. The food is tasty, and it's reasonably priced. I particuarly like their fries.

Shakes are good. Service is awful. The person at the counter didn't greet us with a "Hi!" The first thing he said was, "you can order anything you want but it will be to go." If you want a good shake it's a good place to go. But if you are wanting A+ customer service, stay away.

Three reasons you might go here: 1. It has ironport (a soda that is like a creamier Dr. Pepper, pretty yummy) 2. It was within walking distance 3. You're drunk This place is overpriced for the quality of food. Nothing spectacular taste wise, my western bacon cheeseburger (a la carte) was 6 dollars. WTF!? but i knew what i was getting into (im the within walking distance category) DO NOT GET THE CHICKEN STRIPS!! they were seven bucks with curly fries (i was just interested in trying them, waste of money) If you are nearby (go to the taco bell) it might be worth trying out for the Ironport soda otherwise... just stop by my place, ill give you much better food for half the price... and less diarrhea.

Shakes are pretty good, burgers are ok, onion rings are crap, and after spending $13 on food they still charge you $.20 for a f'ing cup of water. I live 2 blocks away, am an eater (I weigh 285), and I only come here about once a year. I think this is what they call a clue. Finally-plenty of GOOD food options in the area. Inside of a mile you have Emmanuels great Mexican, Slab Pizza best slice in town, Creamery on 9th good burgers and shakes and ice cream, and JDawwgs. These are ALL great reasons to NOT go to Stans.

I shouldn't love this place, but I do. It is a dive, no doubt about it. Nothing special about it, service is ok, atmosphere is not great, essentially everything is average. But for some reason, I love the food. The Stan Special is my favorite. I add bacon and get the seasoned fries with extra fry sauce. I think because expectations are low it is easier to be pleasantly surprised.

This is a classic Provo establishment. I've been coming here for years and still love it. Of course its heyday was when it was run by the original Stan Taylor. He retired some time ago and sold it to a family. They do pretty well but just don't have the same passion for the 1950s style food that Stan had. The building is showing its age but the place is clean. The menu items that are still good under the new owners are the gyros, fries, and most of the burgers, especially the pastrami burger. The samosas are also surprisingly good. Two things to avoid: the onion rings and the grilled cheese. For some reason the new owners don't know how to cook onion rings so avoid those. They also don't seem to use real cheese on the grilled cheese? It tasted like liquid cheese out of a can or melted Kraft singles. Other than that, I would say many items on the menu ranged from average to quite good. They're fast, cheap, and have a pretty diverse menu so you can please a big group of people.

Oh, man. You better mentally prep yourself if you're going to brave Stan's. it's a pretty average divey, drive-thru, but the owners here seem to think they are doing you all sorts of favors by allowing you to eat here. I like their grilled cheese (with tomato), and their sodas with fresh lime are great. Like I said, it's pretty on par with what you'd expect of a place in their category. But MAN! When I went through the drive-thru the other day, I thought daggers were going to fly from the lady's eyes when she opened that window. No smile. No thank you. No we don't take Amex. More awkward than the time my "friend" depantsed me in 7th grade P.E. I wish that was just a clever analogy and not something that ruined middle school/maybe the rest of my life. At least Stan's didn't do that much long term damage.

Stans is a solid place. Sort of a dive, which gives it an old school feel. The burgers are easily better than anything Mickey D's can offer, and the shakes are a win. Definitely worth a shot.

Uh... not good. How can you mess up onion rings? By putting them directly from the fryer into the plastic container and melting the container into the batter, that's how. And those plastic onion rings cost me $4 and almost 15 minutes waiting in the drive-thru. I think I'd rather go to a chain restaurant than this hole.

Slow service, but they have great burgers and shakes.
