OGDEN, UT: Excited to come try the most famous Thai restaurant north of Salt Lake. The ambience was welcoming as was the host, and the place was bustling with a wait even on a Thursday evening. I tried a few dishes: Pad Thai (4 stars): This was more marinated than I am used to with Pad Thai and it made for a flavorful, if more moist, presentation that was very good. Tom Ka Gai (3.5 Stars): This is my favorite soup. This particular presentation was slightly more sour and less sweet than Im used to, and I didn't like the difference as much. Chicken Satay (3 stars): These were fine, but they weren't my favorite. A little bit too much marinade and as much "charred" chicken taste. They didn't taste grilled, even though Im sure they were. Mango Dessert (5 stars): This was the best I've had. Awesome!

A quiet, unassuming little roadside place with top notch Thai cusine. Do your homework before you go there, so that you have an idea of what you may enjoy the most. The Drunken noodles with a little extra heat are sublime. The lunch combos' are always a sure bet. Service lags a bit when it gets busy, but that's when you pull out the smartphone and head for the ozone...

THE BEST THAI FOOD IN TOWN! My family loves this place. The service is good and the food! I always get Tom kha (coconut soup) I also love pad do sen? (I don't know how to spell that) there curry is good and Thai beef salad. This place is very good! If you love Thai food you will love here
(5)Stacy T.
The Pad Thai was amazing! And the lunch portion was huge! I'm coming back every time I'm back in town!
(5)EJ B.
Great Thai food. Lunch combos are great and right-sized portions. Combo L2 and L8 are delicious. Comes with salad, rice, and drink of choice. Service is fast and friendly. Stop by.
(5)Steph C.
My husband and I decided to stop by for some Thai food and we stumbled upon this one. The restaurant looked great and vibe was friendly. We ordered 2 combinations which were bbq pork, a sour chicken soup, chicken red curry, and chicken with broccoli. We also ordered 2 Thai iced teas that were so refreshing (best I've had in Utah, so far) and a delicious coconut sticky rice w/ mango dessert. Everything was AMAZING! Definitely, going back soon. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Jacqui B.
The food is always good. I would recommend them to anyone. I have tried several things on the menu and all of them were great. The service is lacking.
(4)Nathan S.
Great place for Thai food in Ogden! Appetizers and entrees are all pretty good.. The parking is kind of a nightmare as it is located in a tiny shopping center off 12th Street, but this is the best Thai food I've had in Utah
(5)Fay L.
The food here is delicious. Had the lunch special, where you choose 2 dishes, which come out in smaller sizes and includes rice. I had the tom yum soup and the chicken panang. Both dishes were really delicious and very flavorful. Only complaint I have here is the extremely slow service. If you come here to dine in for lunch, expect a 2 hour lunch. It took 20 minutes before we even got water, and the servers were apparently confused about who was taking our table, so no one came over for the first 15 minutes we were seated. Food also took a very long time to come out, even the starter salads.

Nailbanger Here Again: Traveling though town for just one night, was in the mood for some Thai Cuisine, this place was reviewed as the #1 Place in Ogden,so we gave it a shot.Well this place Rocks some decent Thai Chow, with a nice menu to chose from, nicely decorated and centrally located. The service was very good , tentative and friendly.Portion size on the Pad Thai was generous and delicious. We had the fried Spring Rolls and Crab Wontons for appetizers. My wife got the Tom Kia Chicken Coconut soup and it was pretty Blah Blah, but other than that it was very good.Would come back if in town. They close at 9 PM regardless of what anyone else tells you or is advertised.Plenty of well lighted Parking.Enjoy

Great food, but the take-out experience was awkward. We were told 25 minutes and waited 40, but that didn't bother us as much as the hostess who asked my husband why he was looking in the bag after she brought out our order. He said he was checking to make sure everything was there and she remarked, "This isn't Mcdonalds..." which made it extra awkward when my husband noticed that they'd given us a completely different entrée than what we ordered. After blaming a fellow coworker for the mistake, the hostess brought out our correct order another 15 minutes later. It was kind of uncomfortable.
(3)Brett K.
Awesome. Amazing service - our waitress had a long conversation with me about metal when she saw my Iron Maiden shirt. Trust me, there's nothing better than drinking an ice cold Thai beer and eating delicious noodles while geeking out about The Number of the Beast in broken English with a delightful waitress. The owner even came by after our meal to check on our experience. Scream for them, Ogden...scream for them! Don't Run to the Hills, run to Aroy-D! You'll definitely have some Wasted Years if you eat Thai food anywhere else! Okay, I'm done now.
(5)Shane Z.
I have visited this place a few more times, and each time it gets better! I had the pad thai the last time I went in and asked it to be medium spiced. Very good, just like the drunken noodle, enough spice to let you know it is there but not too much to kill you. I also had the spring rolls again, this time they were perfect. I should have ordered two of them as my daughter and my wife ate them when they said they weren't going to! My wife had their lunch combination and picked one of the curry dishes, I am not a big fan of curry, but I tried it and it was amazing. They may have changed my idea on curry now, I may have to try it again. We also tried the Mango sticky rice for dessert. It is a must! Very delicious.
(5)Kay P.
It's a cute little spot that's kept clean and I really like that the servers are attentive. I ordered the pad Thai and asked them to make it extra spicy and they brought out little samples of spices for me to try before sprinkling it on my dish just to be sure and I thought that was nice of them. The pad Thai was great and the noodles didn't stick together and it had just the right amount of sauce to pull everything together . The added spices were a nice touch too. The appetizers I suggest getting the spring rolls . Everything tastes fresh and when I asked for extra peanut sauce they were more than happy to get some instead of being stingy like other Asian restaurants . Make sure to save room for dessert and get their mango and sticky rice! Its delicious.

Good food and service! I was driving by Ogden and came across this little place. I felt bad as we were one of the few couples that showed up 15 minutes before closing...I typically hate to do that but did. We got the fried calamari, padthai, and the yellow curry. The fried calamari was one of the better calamari I've eaten! Especially with that sweet fish sauce, yum! The padthai was a bit sweeter than I expected and I typically don't use limes over my noodles but I did that day. I didn't see any tofu in there but I guess it was ok as we showed up at closing. I also appreciated that this place put the peanuts on the side because I HATE peanuts with it but forgot to tell them. The yellow curry was a bit liquidy but yum! Perfectly cooked shirmp!!
(5)Derrick N.
Took the recommendation from Yelp and it was everything we had hoped for. Started with the delicious crab wontons, then moved into the wonderful yellow curry. Just the right amount of heat. Share the pork of Thai with a mild+ heat index, and they nailed it. We will definitely be back soon and often. Good, fast service!
(5)Chris K.
Epic Thai spot! Such a great menu with a ton of curry options. This place is amazing and you will wanna keep coming back for more.
(5)Ken H.
First time and we will be back. The green papaya salad was amazing!!! When they asked how spicy, I said medium plus. They were no joke with the spice. The service was good and even my son said it was good.
(4)Jeff M.
Best Thai around. Love their curries, the massaman is very flavorful and it's my go to dish. My wife loves the Pad Thai and it's always solid. Tiny place so if you don't get their early on the weekends, prepare to wait. It's always worth it. Service is good, but really could care less about the service when the food is this good.
(5)Tony T.
I've been to Thailand several times. This place is as good as it gets. Forget any other Thai food place in the Davis/Weber area. This place is the cat's pajamas.
(5)Matthew H.
After reading such great reviews, we knew this was a place we wanted to check out (having just moved into the area from Ohio). We were not disappointed! The Thai ice tea was awesome (first time trying it; be sure to stir completely), the pad Thai perfect and the mango sticky rice was amazing. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, so you can be sure we'll be back. Oh, and the York peppermint patty added the perfect finish. When you go, be sure to sit facing the mountains. We had a perfect view of snow capped Ben Lomond. Splendid!
(5)Vanashree V.
Hands down! the best thai place around. I would drive down to salt lake city for thai food before I tried this place... not anymore :) I have been a regular at this place for about 6 months now and their food has been consistently excellent! My personal favourites.. Pad Kee Mao, Basil Fried Rice and the Panang curry.
(5)Joshua S.
It's a wonderful feeling you get when you find a place you know you can count on for consistent, great food. The other day, I finally decided to try this place, I'd driven past it many times and never focused on it cus if you blink, you'll probably miss it. I ordered the lunch combo with green curry and a something something stir fry (can't remember the name). My fiancee had the drunken noodles. All three dishes were very good. We ordered medium heat, which was nice and tasty for me, but my fair-skinned/never eats anything hot fiancee almost couldn't eat hers. So I ate some of hers too, which was fine by me :D If you're in Ogden and you have a hankering for Thai food, give this place a try!
(4)Marc Z.
I've been here a lot in the past 6 months because it is one of the few Thai places in the area. I usually always get the Pad Thai with tofu. It is very good but I do think that the texture of the tofu and how its cooked can be slightly better. Still very good as a whole but the tofu is just a little more bland and un-textured from places I am use to in Chicago where I lived most of my life.
(4)Wes D.
Excellent Thai food. Don't be thrown by the storefront appearance. It's right next to a rent a center type store. The decor is nothing special. I would not really want to eat here as a sit down restaurant, however as a takeout option it was great. I had the glass noodles and a fresh roll. Both were generous portions and well prepared. I will definitely come back. My only complaint is it is quite far from Central Ogden. I wish this place was around the corner from my house. I would eat here once a week if it was.
(4)Tera C.
Best Thai food I've tried in Ogden for sure. My favorite dish is the Pad Gra Prow. I would say that just asking for hot doesn't usually do the trick for me. If you have made a career out of eating spicy food your whole life, ask for native hot. Nice owner, great service.
(5)Sara A.
This place has some of the best Thai food in the Wasatch front area. My favorite is the chicken massamun curry and also the red chicken curry. Both were the bomb-diggity! MmmMm. Just typing it out makes my mouth water. Thumbs up! The service has been decent every time we have gone there during lunch hours (as long as you let them know you're on a time crunch), the waitress was super nice and attentive.
(5)Jacob P.
Wow! this place was awesome! I have never eaten here before so I just asked the waitress to get me something good. service was fast and friendly. and the food was excellent
(5)Matt G.
Amazing food. Was in Ogden for an event and found this gem on Yelp. Will drive 45 minutes to come back again! Panang was great and the Spring Roll was the size of a burrito. Service was smooth. Come hungry.
(5)Phil C.
Amazing food. Pricees are decent for the amount of food that you get. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because their location is not ideal and parking is crowded.
(4)Kaitlyn K.
I can't get enough of their massaman curry and som tom. This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Ogden and sets a high bar for all other Thai restaurants. Don't forget to order mango sticky rice for dessert!
(5)The S.
Food was ok, service ok. That is about it. Actually the food was pretty good although not seasoned nearly hot enough for my taste. I ordered it "native" hot and still was barely hot at all. My biggest ;problem was when I ordered some prik nam pla. (hot fish sauce) to spice it up they replied they were out of it. What? It is not possible to cook Thai without it. All it took was fish sauce, a few peppers cut up in in and a squeeze of lime. Suppose it was too much trouble. That is like asking for soy sauce in a Chinese restaurant and them being out of it. Inexcusable. Generally poor attitude from the owner. Server was just inexperienced which is fine. Look somewhere that cares if you eat there or not.
(3)Kat D.
Great thai food in a weird little spot. I've had the Pad Thai, Yellow Chicken Curry and the cream cheese won tons. All great. Their thai iced coffee is delicious, sweet and strong like it should be. Well worth finding (or u-turning if you miss it the first time.) Parking isn't extensive but there's usually plenty of spaces. Located next to a gas station plaza in a little strip mall tucked away so it's a little weird location, but doesn't matter if the food is great.
(4)Shayna D.
Read numerous reviews on Yelp and decided to make the drive north to Ogden to give it a try and....... I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. We had the curry special which was pumpkin in a red curry sauce. The server also recommended the pineapple fried rice. I was hesitant but decided to try it and boy, was it great. Overall I would say this was the best Thai food I've had, even my husband agreed (and loves the pineapple fried rice). Who would have thought that we'd find good Thai food in Ogden.
(5)Tony L.
During one of those long days, we wandered up here to Ogden and found this little Thai joint in a strip mall. They got a nice ambience to it despite being a small place. The staffs all seem quite nice here especially for an Asian restaurant. I ended up getting the Drunken Noodles with Seafood, as this dish can usually test out the ability of their chefs here. The dish turned out very nice, the noodles did not stick together, the seasonings were great, and all the seafood tasted well with dish. We also ended up getting a mango sticky rice dessert, which was excellent. The rice was not crunchy or mushy, just right. The sauce was overly sweet, but retain plentiful on the coconut flavor. After visiting many Thai places in Utah and visited Thailand myself, I can honestly say that Aroy D is one of the best Thai restaurants in Utah. I will definitely visit them more frequently if they were so far away in Ogden.
(4)Cole C.
I am by no means a Thai food expert, however this is the best Thai in Utah. I usually get a curry or pad Thai. The service is great and the food is better. I've tried all the teas coffees and appetizers so if you just get water and a meal you're wrong. Amazing amazing food. There isn't anything on the menu that is short of fantastic. Come to Aroy D and you'll be a customer for life! I wish I lived closer to Ogden....
(5)EZ Taster M.
Mango and Sticky Rice! Just try it. I loved it. Had the Massamun and Ginger Stir Fried at medium plus spice level. Was perfect and I like a little spice. I will definately be back. I am happy I found you Aroy... now I just want some coupons!!
(5)Travis B.
Look, I don't exactly enjoy riding the bandwagon but this IS the place. In a strip mall. Really. I don't know all of the fancy names but the (insert meat) dish with the (insert sauce) on it is fantastic! I can't find anything on the menu that I don't like or haven't cared for. A personal favorite is the Pad Thai. How you make noodles in a peanut sauce this awesome is beyond me. I also like hot food and found "medium" to be plenty spicy for this dish. For a special treat, order the mango on sticky rice in coconut cream. The only downfall is getting in to the parking lot. West bound traffic is forced to do a tricky U-turn at the nearby intersection or pull through the 7-11. Don't let the Slurpee slow you down and get in to the Aroy!!
(5)Dustin Z.
Got some take out last night.. Papaya Salad (Som Tum), Beef Salad (Yum Nua), and Chicken Fried Rice (Kow Phad Guy). Everything was on point and super delicious tonight. Papaya was fresh and flavorful, Beef salad was fantastic and not over minty. Fried Rice was perfect.
(5)Julie K.
Went for a week night dinner. Shared papaya salad, beef salad, and the noodle special. All were excellent. The noodles were a hit. The beef wasn't quite as tender as in the past. think next time I'll just order the papaya salad, it was great.
(4)Dax K.
Superb curries and specials! Great presentation. Save room for the sticky rice and mango dessert. My young kids love their Thai chicken tenders.
(5)Anna C.
I seriously love this place! I love the red curry and the basil stir fry from the affordable and generous lunch specials. I also love the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Roasted Chili Pasted Stir Fry are all delicious, fresh, and made to order to your requested spice level. We go here at least two to three times a month! Be careful the food's addicting!
(5)James Z.
Pad Thai is great here. Not a fan of how the seating is set up. Would prefer booths but its a small area and I understand that would not really work there. Try the hottest possible pad thai = Awesome
(4)Kyley S.
The food is great but the take out service suffers. Twice I have waited more than 45 minutes for my to go order. They estimate 20 minutes, I arrive in 30 minutes thinking that a 10 minute cushion would be enough but I am wrong. The waitress comes back from the kitchen letting me know that it will be 5-10 more minutes. Wrong again, make that an additional 20 minutes. In the meantime I watch people in the dinning room who arrived after me receiving their food.
(2)Gregory H.
Aroy D is my favorite Thai restaurant in the Ogden area. Their curry is absolutely delicious. If you are in a hurry you can also call ahead and just pick it up. I am gluten free eater and they have numerous options available. I also really love the Pad Thai. If you want to try something new, this is definitely worth your time.
(5)Jared J.
I had Thai spicy fried rice and it was delicious. Sure I was sweating a bit, but the wonderful flavor made me keep eating. Great atmosphere, service, and food presentation. They no longer serve alcohol which was a bummer because a Thai beer would've gone really well with the food.
(5)Nicole B.
I am going off of customer service alone for this review and it was terrible. We didn't get to taste the food cuz we waited 15 minutes to be looked at by the staff and not get sat. I've heard the food is delicious, I guess I will have to order take out.
(1)Daryl B.
Service was a little suspect. The food was good, however after being spoiled by Pawits Royale thai its hard to live up to my thai expectations. Decent thai for Ogden.
(3)Danyelle S.
Exceeded expectations. Good service fast and amazing food!!! This is definitely a must try.
(5)Tammy M.
My office tried Aroy D for the second time today. And we were very please. The restaurant was busy but the employees were prompt and pleasant. Each of us tried new things and were all very happy with our choices. The BBQ chicken was packaged a little differently but it had great flavor even without the sauce on the meat. We also tried the Red curry which had the right amount of spice and was very delicious. I am glad that I didn't let my first experience deter me from trying them again. From this second experience we will add Aroy D to our regular lunch rotation.
(5)Brenda F.
I really loved the food here, but I feel like it is more expensive than other thai food in the area that is still great. Also, it can get pretty busy.. meaning its hard to find parking and it can be hard to get seated and then served. But, the food is great!
(4)Roaming E.
Very, very good. fresh, clean, and attentive service. They have a great lunch menu, two people can share 4 dishes for under $20 in under 40 minutes.
(4)Sally S.
Our new favorite thai place in Northern Utah! The massaman curry, red curry, and panang are my favorites. My kids love the pad see ewe. The lunch special is a great deal for all the food you get, and well worth dining in. I have driven by this place for years now and never knew this random strip mall would now be one of my favorite places. The other thai restaurant on 12th St is ok, but Aroy D was fantastic. Will keep going back!
(5)Ray C.
I've been to Thailand & its hard to find good Thai food, but this one does a good job of it! Great service and sufficiently fast getting it out (considering we had a group of 6). Staff was very attentive especially towards our 3 yr old. This is well worth coming back!! Pay attention to the spice level as going to HOT is not always the best (better to stay just a tad below what you think in order to taste the spices). We'll be back!!
(4)Amanda M.
Tried aroy for the first time & was really pleasantly surprised! They have a great looking menu with lots of choices. Spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had & the mango sticky rice was heaven- I've been craving it ever since! Can't wait to go back.
(5)Vikkie N.
Had we not been told that this place existed, I doubt we'd ever have eaten here. Down the end of 12th St is not a place we usually drive by looking for great restaurants! Very nice owners, quick and pleasant service and very tasty food. The portions are big, so if you eat like a bird (like me) you'll have plenty for lunch the next day. The Mango Sticky Rice was something I'd never tried before and was excruciatingly yummy. I probably would have asked for more had we not been running out the door to pick hubby up from class. The menu is very extensive and affordable, and now we know it's there, we'll definitely be back for more.
(5)Scott C.
I am addicted to the Pad Thai "native style" which is the hottest version, man it is good!!!
(5)Holli B.
We came back after having a bad service experience a few weeks ago. We had an amazing server named Tara, who was really on top of things. The food was fantastic! This is one of my most favorite places to go for Thai food.
(5)Laurie O.
Update: the owner very professionally e-mailed me on Yelp and let me know that there is in fact high chairs and booster seats. I asked her if there was any non-carbonated and non-caffeinated drinks so I will update when she replies. This is the first time I have been contacted about a so so review and as a business owner this is very much great to me. I may take my husband here to have him try it since we really enjoy Thai food.
(4)Jeremy M.
Had the Yellow Chicken Curry and it was great. I had it medium and usually it comes out mild. This time it was just right where I need a little water but was not too hot. Quick and no pressure service. I enjoyed my time there.
(4)Brandon R.
This place was actually a present surprise. I was a little nervous, but was very happy with my choice. We called ahead to ask if we needed reservations for 10 people. They said we didn't need reservations, but that they would set aside a table for us. We went on a Tuesday night, and it was packed. The food was the best Thai I've every had. The owner came to our table and checked on us. He mentioned his wife was Thai and that she owned a Thai restaurant in Bangkok. He also mentioned she taught cooking classes in Thailand. I am excited to go back soon. I had the Pineapple Thai Fried Rice Mild. It was the best Thai fried rice I've ever had. Everyone wanted a taste off my plate.
(5)Andrew L.
Drunken Noodles were great. A nice change of pace from the typical cuisine around Ogden.
(4)Babs J.
Very good thai food. Tried drunken stir fry, noodle soup, and tom ka gi. Preferred the vegetarian and tofu dishes. Very good flavor. Would go again when coming through Ogden. Super convenient off 80.
(5)Matt T.
This place is freaking amazing!!!! Everything I've tried here has been so incredible!! You really can't go wrong! A York Peppermint Patty to end the meal? Awesome. Easily the best Thai in Utah!
(5)Barrett W.
Great food, wonderful service with a smile and attention to detail.
(5)Jase S.
Adding my 2£'s, an excellent flip-flop style restaurant. My Japanese wife and I were pleasantly surprised. Don't let the strip mall atmosphere scare you.
(5)Nicole P.
After 4 dinner visits and 2 lunch visits, my first impression still stands. Best Thai food I've ever had. Lunch is an awesome deal. 2 entrees, soup or salad, steamed rice and an eggroll for $7.50. Dinners start around $10 with a deal on Mondays and Tuesdays that 2 people can eat for $25. Appetizer, full entree each and a dessert. Service has consistently been top notch. It doesn't matter what I order, its ALWAYS good. I've tried everything from fried rice to stir fries and curries. Pineapple curry is still my go to favorite, but massaman curry is a close second. As well as the ginger stir fry and basil stir fry.
(5)Matt S.
Very good place. I had the yellow curry and it was so good. Maybe the prices could be lower but the quality makes up for it. Can't wait to go back.
(4)James P.
This was a first time experience for my wife and I, and I must say AMAZING!!!. I'm a huge fan of the smaller private owned "hole in the wall" restaurants, and this one was great. We started of with the chicken satay, which is boneless, skinless chicken grilled and covered in a yellow curry sauce. Which is complimented with a peanut sauce and cucumber salad. It was very satisfying and non filling. Unlike appetizers at chain restaurants that leave you sometimes not wanting to finish your meal. I then had the Beef Salad country style and my wife had the pineapple curry. The beef salad was very flavorful and eating it the way its intended with your hands make the experience of this salad authentic and well worth it. The blend of the onions, mint, Thai basil and peppers made the salad. Now I have not been a fan in the past of curry in anyway, due to every time I have attempted to try it, it was horrible. But I must say that Aroy D Thai surpassed in even impressing me with the curry dish my wife ordered. The pineapple and red curry combination truly gave this dish its flavor and excellence. We also had received a coupon for a free dessert of the mango sticky rice, which is a half piece of mango and an equal size of sticky rice covered in a coconut milk sauce and garnished with sesame seeds. This dessert was not too sweet, fairly light, flavorful and didn't make you feel regret later for eating it. Within my first visit to Aroy D Thai, I have become a impressed customer and will return for future visits. I would recommend this restaurant to current Thai lovers and those even intrigued in trying it for a first time.
(5)Jim P.
Solid 3 to 4 stars. Enjoyed the yelp coupon fir free mangoes and sticky rice... Pad Thai was decent. Service and atmosphere were great. I would go back if passing by
(3)Matt W.
Been coming here since it opened and it never disappoints. Very clean, fast, friendly service, food is super flavorful and distinctive. I try something different every time I come and it's always good. You can tell the owners are passionate and pour a lot of what they do into this business and are thankful for their customers. It's so nice to see them succeed!
(5)Just_Dason L.
I have actually been here twice and I would say that the food and staff have been great. I'm not sure what good Thai food is so it is hard to compare but I do enjoy it.
(3)Jake P.
I love this place. it is about time we have some decent Thai food in Ogden. The owner is highly involved and you can tell he really cares about what he is doing. I have tried quite a few things on the menu and have not had a bad meal yet. I really like the Tom Kha Gi as well as the spring beef salad. The spice level while perfect for me was a little to hot for my wife. I would say if you are sensitive to spicy food you will want to tell the 1 or maybe two. That being said my wife is in love the pineapple fried rice. She is still talking about how good it is. You must try the mango dessert. It is delish. It is a little pricey for the amount of food you get, but all in all the most solid choice for Thai in the Ogden area. They have some great prices for lunch that you may want to consider if you can swing it.
(4)Derrik S.
Seriously some of the best Thai food I've ever had.
(5)Zachary C.
I would consider myself somewhat of a Thai connoisseur. I've had just about every restaurant there is to enjoy in SLC. Aroy-D was given to me on a recommendation from friends. Living in Salt Lake it took a little pushing and prodding to get me to take a trip to Ogden, but am I really glad I did. I had yellow curry that was Med+ in temperature. Not too overbearing with the spice and the food was served at the perfect temp! Great tasting food, prices are right, and service is even better!
(5)Missy O.
Best Thai food in Utah so far! The service was excellent. The restaurant was very nicely decorated. Had the Pad Woon Sen. Very tasty and the veggies were still crunchy with minimal oiliness to the noodles. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Chad F.
Fine. Special of the day soup excellent. Curry fine nothing special. Teas too sweet. Beef salad really bland. Red curry stir fry excellent. Peanut sauce stir fry bland. Fine but not outstanding
(3)F L.
I stopped in for some chicken Pad Thai while waiting for a cab, and was very impressed. The staff was very nice and accommodating by quickly changing my order from dine in to take out, and I found the prices very reasonable for a Thai restaurant. Their take on Pad Thai surprised me because I've never had it spicy before, and with a nice hint of garlic to boot. Savory, delicious, I could have ordered seconds. The portion was a generous size and I look forward to going back for some spring rolls when I'm in town again on business.

It's the evening of a Friday that has stretched itself much too thin. You're in Ogden, you've had a cocktail or two, your kitchen is a non-existent shell with contractor's tools strewn about it. Dinner is a chore, a challenge, a cause for gentle weeping. By some mercy of the gods of laziness and snackery, you come across a listing for the quirkily named Aroy-D Thai. It's new, like 5 months new. It's out on 12th street in the Og, just off I-15. It's an unknown in a region tragically known for the absence of decent Thai food. It is--in fact--a miracle. I live in fear that I've only imagined it like a coconut milk mirage. Gentle fish sauce lovers, I tell you now to go forth and bathe in the healing broth of this savory oasis. Despite the strip mall location, it's a very nice space. The husband was our server in this clearly family affair. We ordered just a few items from our favorite basic categories, deferring to his more specific recommendations (which simply reflect his wife's [the chef] regional expertise). I ordered a lime thai iced tea, a variation I've not seen at other Thai places. It comes without dairy and lots of lime and is really good. We ordered tofu massaman. All the way to great. The tofu itself was notably awesome as it was actually prepared, not just flung in as a meaty afterthought. The beef salad, chef's style. Comes with sticky rice and the owner's appreciation when you eat it properly with your hands. Outstanding. Drunken noodles. At first, I feared this would be the weak link, since it didn't seem especially sauced. My mistake was assuming, from other experiences elsewhere, that pad kee mao can't be light, bright, and still full of flavor. Loved it. Also, tom yum. Delicious sweet and sour broth that cries out for seafood. I've eaten at most Thai places along the Wasatch front, and (while I know a single meal is a very limited sample and that there is an emotional context to my experience) I place Aroy-D at the top. I will eat through their entire menu. I will even try their pad thai. I will single-handedly keep them in business if need be. I will worship whichever gods they desire, since they are clearly benevolent deities of tastiness.

I guess I need to give this place another shot. I was deeply disappointed in my lunch combination of massaman curry and yellow curry. I did appreciate the way the tofu was prepared but I.was up sick all night. I liked the decor. So much better than our other Thai restaurants in Ogden. I still prefer Bangkok Garden's food. But it's nice to have another option now that Thai Monk Gol has closed down. I'll give it another try

Aroy D has great Thai food and is so far the best in Utah with Thai food. It is not the best Thai food I have had in the US though, but some of that comes with location. There are five levels of hotness mild, mild+,medium, medium+, and hot for your dishes and medium is pretty consistent with other proper Thai restaurants. It is located in a small strip mall that is easy to pass if you are not paying close attention while driving. My wife and I came here as a date night and ordered a calamari appetizer with panang curry for my wife (medium+) and green curry for myself (medium). The calamari had a good Thai sauce with it, but it was only calamari tubes and some crispy pieces. I really wish that they had some of the leg pieces as well, but overall the calamari was pretty good about three stars. We ordered shrimp with both of our curries as we both love seafood and they do a great job with butterflied shrimp cooked perfectly with our curries. The panang curry only had green and red peppers in it, but we learned after our meal that you can request more veggies in your curry. At medium+ it had a nice kick and my wife enjoyed it. My green curry came with green and red peppers, cucumber, and bamboo shoots which all tasted great at the medium level. Taste and spice was close to my favorite Thai place in California. With your meal you get plenty of freshly cooked jasmine rice which was nice to eat your curry with. You get a York peppermint patty at the end of your meal which is nice. I will have to come here again and try other dishes. This is a great little place with great food cooked my a Thai native. As it is hard to get some of the tropical vegetables here in Utah they do a great job with the ingredients that they have. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a good Thai dish in the Ogden area. I would put it as a four to four and a half star place to all other Thai places I have eaten at, but for Utah it is a five. Prices are at the high end of this type of establishment, but it is worth it.

We have never has Thai food-yes, we are hicks from the sticks! After reading the reviews we stopped in here and tried it. We started with the Chicken Satay, all I could say was yummy! Then for entrees we ordered the Beef Salad and the Pad Thai.... Wow AGAIN! There was plenty of food so we could share. Then we finished with the Mango dessert. It was soooo good! Definitely not afraid to try more Thai food now.

We come here several times each month and always get the same items. Chicken in oyster sauce (medium hot), whatever the special soup is, and mango sticky rice. Great Thai in off-the-beaten-path location.

I came here because of the great Yelp reviews, and was not disappointed. This is some of the better Thai food I've had anywhere. Highly recommended!

I was craving for thai food so I went to this place a couple of days ago for dinner. Ordered the ginger stir fry with tofu (extreme spicy) and man, it was awesome. Loved the taste and the spice content in the dish. My friend ordered Sweet and Sour Vegetables (not that spicy) and he loved his too. Will definitely go back if am in the area again.

This is one of our favorite places in Ogden. Being from Washington state I have had a lot of oriental food including Thai. They seem to keep pace with what I expect. We have always loved the service. I don't think we have tried anything we have not enjoyed. The flavors are fresh and always seem to find the right balance between textures, aroma, and taste. With two kids ranging in age of 3 to 0 and now 5 and 2, it has always been such a breeze to bring them there and not worry about finding something for them eat or even unfriendly acts from the staff. They are so kid friendly, making sure our meal comes to match the kids time frame for good restaurant manners. The staff also interact very nicely with our kids. They will make them some origami items to enjoy or even try to play with our kids. This alone is enough to get us to want to come back again.

As a lover of Asian food in General, and someone who has spent a fair amount of time in Thailand, I give this little unexpected suprise a 5-STAR+++++++++++++. It's located a little off the beaten path, but that doesn't really matter - it's as if you've just stepped into a restaurant on the river in Bangkok. The Food: We tried 6 different dishes - mostly the usual suspects, as we had some Thai food first-timers in our group. The Coconut soup had one response from everyone, "WOW". The green curry was as fresh and flavorful as I've ever had, and even in the carb-fearing world we live in, the Pad Thai was everyone's favorite. In Short: It was outstanding. The Service: This is a small, family owned operation - and they CARE about your experience. They were friendly, fast, and didn't get in the way at all. Overall: This is a MUST TRY if you are a Thai food lover, or if you've never tried it. Go in there, and ask for their house specialties, and be amazed. This is my new #1 Thai food place. Anywhere. And it's in Ogden of all places...

I was really excited about trying this place for lunch. Walked in and there was no a/c. It was so hot and stuffy I got up and left after being seated for about three minutes.

By far, the best Thai food around!! I frequent this place, at least, once a week and have yet to be disappointed. Everything is good!! FYI... Their Pad See Ewe is a dish that I consider pure perfection; a depth of flavor that always leaves me wanting the next bite. I'd highly recommend it!!!!

I never thought I would ever find great Thai food close to home (Logan) - and even though it's an hour away, I'll take it! I was a little worried when we came in - it was empty inside. But my worries went away once I tasted the green curry. It tasted just like the green curries I always had back in the Chicago area. It had the right blend of spices, it wasn't too spicy (just the right amount, where it lingers on the tip of your tongue after you finish), and they included a good amount of chicken and vegetables. I also tried a bit of the pad see ewe, which was a little sweet for my taste, but my fiance said it was very good. The service was also very good, but of course, we were the only ones in the whole restaurant. They also included a York peppermint patty at the end of the meal, which is my favorite after dinner mint. Overall, a great experience. I would give them 4.5. I only mark off a star because the bowl they used to serve the rice seemed like they just heated left over rice (it didn't look like it was pulled from a rice cooker and put in a bowl). I will have to come again to try out more of their curries.

This place is a hidden treasure! Don't let the location fool you. Since first eating here about a year ago, I've tried many other Thai places across Utah, and this place is the tops.

I have only eaten here twice for lunch, as a result I have tried but a few items from the menu. However, very impressed with the noodle soup (very similar to pho), and the pork Pad Thai, was easily some of the best PT we have ever had. Ignore the location, yet enjoy the view of beautiful Ben Lomond peak.

solid 3 stars, we came here for lunch, had red curry, sweet and sour chiken stir fry, massaman curry. first of all, all the dish was cold/luke warm which we would prefer to be warmer. The sweet and sour chicken was eh, because it is not warm and it came with a lot of sauce, it is more like a chiken/vegie in a sweet/sour dipping sauce vs. stir fry. the red curry is way to thin to be curry, we felt like it is on the border between the soup and the curry. and the massaman is the best dish of the day. it has very simular taste to the red curry but it is thicker, and more flavor. One thing that we are not that big fan of is the chiken they put in, it was favorless and taste all the same --- no taste to it, i felt like they use the chicken they cooked in the soup and put it in the curry. Overall, It was OK, we will try to come back to try some other dishs. I have heard their drunken noodle is good.

The reviews about the food are right on Great Food, Prices are a little high. Not from Ogden so I am use to city prices for Thai food. Great service Loved the rice mango dessert

I walked in to Aroy-D with high expectations because of the outstanding yelp reviews. Aroy-D has one of the best reputations for a Thai restaurant in Utah; now I know why! My food totally exceeded my expectations. I ordered the $8.00 lunch combo with Chicken Massamun Curry and Thai Basil stir fry with chicken. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my self to order anything else in the future. It was that good! When asked how spicy I wanted my food I said moderately high. It was perfect. It was also great to be able to taste so many dishes for $8. The lunch special came with soup, two main dishes, rice, and an egg roll. At the end of the day it's the unique Thai flavors and the quality of the food that differentiates Aroy-D from the others and wins my 5 star rating. Can't wait to come back!

Their stuff was good, especially the sticky rice with mango! I haven't had any sticky rice that was deliciously soft, moist and tasty before. Other than that, their portions are pretty big, good for a second meal if you want. The lunch special is great with options and for portion sizes. The extra plus was they don't use MSG! I did take out and saw the environment seemed pretty nice with decorations - great for a date night out. Otherwise, I'll be heading back once I can make it up that way.

This is my favorite place to eat. Their food is amazing, I have tried almost everything on the menu and NEVER had something I didn't like. I wish they had another location that served a shorter menu to go so I could eat here on my lunch hour too! Its just too popular to make it in and out in a timely manner.
