I had a great experience! Food was great, the staff was great. The place has TVs everywhere (it's like a sports bar) but family friendly.

I agree. Some of the worst food I have ever had, home or otherwise. Getting just drinks is fine. Nice staff.

I went here two years ago when they first opened and I should have stayed with that experience and not gone back in. Well I only gave it another shot because my girlfriend and I only had an hour to kill before our movie and I figured why not, they made some changes to the menu and it was the only thing we could get in the time we had. First we sat at the bar, and the server/bartender was nice enough. Asked right away if we were going to see a movie and asked how much time we had, and that was great so she knew our needs. We ordered a beer and two apps. So far so good. This is when things went downhill fast. We finished our tall beers and the server was talking to the one other table in the house. There was a girl in a t-shirt walking around, not really sure about what her job was. Our apps were chicken tenders and Potato skins. At this point empty on beers and now 15 minutes after ordering what I thought would be fast food, I was beginning to think she forgot our order. Finally 20 minutes after ordering our food came, mind you we only had 20 minutes left til our movie started. So 40 minutes after walking in the door we can eat. The potato skins were so tough I almost asked for a steak knife. Then my first bite was so dry and cold I needed a drink every time I ate a bite. So no I bite into a french fry which was also cold and I didn't order fries. They said they made a mistake and gave us the "basket" So brought out more chicken tenders later. We ate quickly (as much as we could stomach, and no we didn't finish) and then waited 10 minutes for our check. 4 Beers and 2 apps cost 43.00 without tip. I was kind of shocked at the cost of the beers. $5.75 each. All that said I hate giving a bad review, but as I aspire to open my own restaurant soon, I can honestly say that I will never, give food to a customer that even resembles this bar and grill. It is a real shame too because this place really could be a gold mine. They have the right idea but need a huge boost to their food and drink! Sorry Previews, but my Coke and Kit-Kat were the highlight of my culinary day.

I would not normally write anything bad about a business- but this was so bad I feel it my duty to warn others and hopefully help these guys improve. The only that was not horrible about this experience was the service- I felt bad for our poor waitress. 1-a fly in my salad that I had to wait forever for. 2-lackluster and cold appetizer. 3-my 12 year old 'medium' hamburger was bleeding 4-the chicken pasta I ordered was oily, rubbery and tasteless. 5-the food in general took forever. It is the only time I have been to a restaurant and not been able to eat what I ordered. I bought popcorn for dinner that night.

I agree with the first reviewer, Carole on every point she makes and I, too, had popcorn and Swedish fish for dinner. LOL. Except, I feel that the point of Yelp is to alert people to bad business practices in the hope that they will take the criticism and improve. That being said, here's what we experienced nearly 3 years after her review. We had about an hour prior to our movie's beginning so we thought we would have plenty of time to eat and find good seats. When we walked in, no one acknowledged our presence. We should have taken that as a hint and turned around. However, we pressed on and finally we asked the two people at the hostess station (male/female) if we could choose any place to sit since no one seemed to care that we were there. The young lady then reluctantly stood up, grabbed some menus and asked us if "it was okay if she was our waitress". I am still scratching my head over that one. Once seated she asked me to hand her the extra menus in a really irritated voice like I was obligated to assist her and, without even saying thank you, she left in a huff and we perused the overpriced menu. We ordered two beers which my dining companion thought tasted old and he said that this place was giving Gritty's beer a bad name. We had already spent $20 on the tix so we were trying to conserve dinero in case we wanted popcorn later. We opted to split a pizza and when we asked her if any toppings were available, she replied that there was a mushroom pizza on special- that was it. C'mon this is Maine and this place should at least offer the standard topping selection - pepperoni, veggies etc. I asked if that came with the pizza but there was an additional charge of .99. That was the only topping on offer and we declined....And she stated that it was big enough for 2 people. We waited and observed the other diners and my dining companion noted that a table of four had just forked over $116 for their meal which considering all four were probably headed to their movie at $10 per person that their evening out was suddenly becoming very pricey for Saco. I think our waitress overheard us complaining and she shifted Jekyll-and-Hyde style from bitchy to somewhat phony-nice when she delivered our pizza. Just looking at the burned cheese on top, I had a bad feeling and I was right on the money. Nothing about it was tasty, the sauce was overly sweet and it wasn't even cut into even portions plus I burned the roof of my mouth which made eating the popcorn super uncomfortable with the salt and all. Also, the size was really a personal pan pizza. The only saving grace was that this pizza was actually better than one we had a Pizzeria Uno in South Portland a few weeks earlier. Which isn't saying much. But we'll save that for another review. So when she came back to deliver the check and asked how everything was, my dining companion replied "It was edible" and "we've had worse" and she didn't quite know how to take this so went right back to being bitchy and disinterested. With just 5 minutes to spare, we left a paltry trip and found our theater and seats in time for the previews. Obviously the next time we want a stadium theater experience we will eat beforehand. And still get hosed on the overpriced popcorn. On another note, it seems like lately I just keep getting horrific restaurant experiences and realize just how greedy these restaurants like the Roundabout Diner in Portsmouth are when they have a captive audience. People think that they will have a decent outing and then end up really disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy this and, if you have read my other reviews, you'll think that I'm a really picky person but when you are forking over your hard-earned money to forego cooking and get out of the house you want it to be something that is memorable in a good way. I really hope that the next review I write is positive.
