Buffet was alright. The pea pasta salad smelled sour. Told the waitress about it and nothing was done to replace it at the buffet bar. Hopefully no one will get sick from sour dairy otherwise it will be a Dept of Health's issue and potential lawsuits. Sirloin steak was good. This type of restaurant is okay if you are lazy to fix yourself a homecooked meal. You pay for what you get. Don't expect too much!

Expensive and bland mediocre food. Also don't allow you to take your leftovers home. My husband got sick off of their horse shoe. Small portions and the salad bar was a joke. The waitress however, was polite and helped us sneak out our leftovers. Do not recommend.

Food = okay. Reminds me of Sizzler. Entree and salad bar, or just get the salad bar (which has some hot foods too.) Sirloin tips were delicious, but overcooked. Salad bar and hot foods = good. What I used to come here for--their roll--yeastly heaven! It was unlimited back then, but these days they charge 70 cents per roll. Only one free roll comes with the entree. Service = okay. The place is pretty clean though. Plenty of parking.

Heading from Chicago to St. Louis on a Friday evening, stopping in Litchfield for the night. Walked over from the Super 8, and was pleasantly surprised by the fair crowd (always good at a buffet - fresh food!) but ample seating, and decent pricing. I ordered the "All You Can Eat Whitefish / Popcorn Shrimp" dinner, and my wife ordered a Tenderloin. Both included the buffet! Similar to Sizzler or Ponderosa. Fish was decent, not too dry and nice flavor for fried. Shrimp were tasty, maybe a little salty. Steak was done correctly, but with a lot of tenderizer - just fine considering the 10.99 price, with buffet! Buffet food was good. Nice selection with full trays, and seemed fairly freshly prepared. Great variety, slightly heavy on the fried foods. Chili a little thin, but passable. The star attraction here was the service! Our server, Rachel, was outstanding! Always ready to take used plates or refill our beverages, not forgetting to simply be personable and make our dinner enjoyable.

On my home from Saint Louis, what else, I got hungry. Saw this sign "Maverick's Steak House" And I thought to myself, hmmm, just had steak at Ruth Chris should I have steak again? HELL YA !!!! As soon as I pulled into the parking lot I realized this was not the kind of steak house I was thinking about. This restaurant is more like Old Country Buffet. I have never seen this before in Chicago. Maybe they do not have one in Chicago. When I walked in, I saw that they had a Sunday Brunch for $8.95 and a T-Bone special for $16.00. I asked the cashier about the T-bone and she told me that T-bone price also includes the brunch. WHAT A DEAL!!!! Just for $8.00 more I could get a 16oz T-bone. I paid for the T-bone with Coke. You seat yourself. My server was an older lady by the name of Jane. She was GREAT. She gave me a service that is just as good as Ruth Chris' service. I gave her 50% tip which was $10.00 For $8.00 the T-bone was cooked perfectly and the quality, well it is $8.00 after all. Over all I did like the T-bone and I will eat here again. They also have a nice salad bar along with breakfast station and yes, those were included with my T-Bone. This is such a deal. If you are on I55 and you see a sign that says Maverick Steak House, do stop by, you will be glad that you did.

Ate here several times.... Good food but I think it was better at their old location. Great chicken!
