Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Very decent Mexican food. Nice size portions. Very good re-fried beans. Overall good but not great.

Good food, but a little pricey - but that's to be expected in a mountain town.

me and my Friends came here after skiing at keystone and it was one of the best lunches ive had! From the chips and salsa To the food, it was all amazing. We also had a huge MARGARITA and it was great!!! go go go here!!!

Lots of negative stuff on this page but I had a blast at this place! Yummy and spicy salsa, warm chips, got seated at the bar right away and the bar tender was excellent! He got us margs (mmmmmm, get the Cadillac) and water and chips and salsa right away! The food was delish, and my boyfriend and I both got two free shots of their house made "mule kick" tequilla! Even better, I didn't feel like I got kicked by a mule the next morning! We'll be back!

This restaurant is certainly not hurting for business. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. I thought this might be a good sign, but now I figure most of the people there were tourists craving Mexican in a town with few choices. We had a pitcher of margarita and a basket of chips while we waited. The salsa was some mixture of tomato juice and paste and onion juice. The look was reminiscent of Chef Boyardee red sauce. When we were seated we looked over our huge and extensive menus. I decided on a vegetarian chimichanga which came out filled with carrots, onions, cauliflower and a few slices of green pepper. It was not the deep fried goodness I was expecting. In fact they just took a couple of flour tortillas, threw them on the grill for a second and then wrapped up my very unMexican vegetables. The black beans and rice that it was served with were good. No one else in our group was impressed, but I certainly had the worst meal of the bunch.

Food was pretty good. But it probably helped that I ordered in spanish, and asked for it to be cooked authentically mexican. I'm pretty sure its blanded out for the typical american palate, so bear that in mind, and order it authentic if you want it authentic

The type of place that serves up all the usual Mexican edibles with enormous portions, an overwhelmingly large menu, free chips and salsa, margarita specials, and overpriced guac. In that sense, they do what they do beautifully and if your looking for reasonably priced Mexican food in Summit County this may be the place. However, the beef was tough, the chips weren't anything to write home about, and nothing really blew my hair back in terms of taste or culinary uniqueness.

Very authentic atmosphere. The service was nice but almost too much- every plate the waitress brought out, she'd ask the next 4 tables if they were ok. Was not impressed with the food. We got our orders within 5 mins which is worrying- I got the 3 chicken tacos and it was literally assembled: three shells, chicken ON TOP, Lettuce ON TOP, it was just a pile of taco ingredients. By the time I assembled one taco and ate it, the other two shells became so soggy it all just fell apart. Boo. My margarita was also watered down.

I wandered in to this restaurant while on a bit of a road trip. It's the off season, so it was practically deserted, only two other tables were filled. The emptiness during lunch "rush" didn't do much to recommend the place, but I decided to stick it out because I was starving! FOOD The corn chips were warm and fresh, but the salsa was watery, and seemed to have come from a jar. I ordered a combo with two enchiladas; one chicken and one cheese. They were drowning in flavorless red sauce, and the enchiladas themselves were rubbery. The chicken inside was extremely dry and stringy. The cheese enchilada had plenty of cheese, but was very small. There were sides of refried beans and rice, with a little coleslaw. The coleslaw seemed to be vinegary cabbage and a few other veggies (plus what may have been a canned jalapeno). The entire meal was strangely flavorless, not even a hint of spice or even salt and pepper. The beans and rice were terribly bland, weren't even salted, much less had really any particular spices added. I came during lunch, so there were a variety of typical specials on the menu, and the prices are fairly reasonable if you aren't expecting anything spectacular. All in all nothing to write home about. AMBIANCE The restaurant was very clean, although the shopping center is totally lackluster. Typical tacky "Mexican restaurant" decor, with the typical Tejano music playing. The mix-and-match cutlery and plates were fine, but seemed a bit down-market, even for the location. SERVICE There were three servers hovering around the counter, but no one ever came to check on me while I was eating, and I needed a refill for quite a while. In summary, it's just a two-to-three star experience. The food wasn't worth returning, but also couldn't be described as "good."

Service is quick but everything is extremely overpriced. The salsa is watery, and falls right off the chips that taste like the ones that have been at the bottom of the bag for a while. The meats are dry, the shrimps keep their tales and everything is like $5-6 more than it should be!! There's also like 100 things on the menu but no good dedicated fish tacos. Go to Chimayo instead! It's close by and it's much faster, tastier and less expensive!
(3)Phil M.
Kim Sizemore and I visit here every time we visit the area. They have fast service, excellent carne asada, real salsa and the prices are reasonable. Love it. After my last meal there, I had a farting fiesta.
(4)Samir M.
Service is quick and the environment is authentic and lively. Serving sizes are healthy (or unhealthy depending on what you like), but this food hits the spot after a day on the slopes. They do a particularly good job on the refried beans, enchiladas and Mexican rice. Chips and salsa, a harbinger of any Mexican dining experience, however, leave something to be desired. Salsa is a bit watery and without kick. Lastly the flan is worth coming here alone.
(3)Leena M.
Nice atmosphere, great enchiladas, and the flan is bombdotcom. We've eaten at many Mexican places around the area and this is by far our favorite. We come back here every year. Beware, the portions are pretty gigantic. The food also comes out faster than speedy Gonzalez.
(5)Buckwheat S.
Casa Bonita has much better food. We ate at this place 1/5/2015, it was horrible. Tasteless is the best thing I can say about it. The salsa tasted like catsup. I have lived in Colorado for all of my 65 years and this is not Mexican food. They couldn't even get the bill correct.

Save your money. $9.89 for a veggie burrito? Go across the street to QBoda...a much better deal (and portion) for the money. I won't be going back to this place. Food OK...pricing high.
(2)Ceren J.
Wow this place was amazing! Huge portions and great food. House margaritas are also pretty good. We ordered 4 margaritas and 2 large dinner plates and our price was 50 dollars! Well worth! Just a small warning the food is pretty good but pretty greasy. If you have a sensitive stomach stick with tacos!
(4)Douglas A.
Been here three or four times, always think the food is great and large portions, would recommend for sure!
(4)Amy A.
If you want authentic Mexican this isn't your restaurant. However for americanized Mexican food this place has great food. Their salsa is delicious and the portion sizes are huge and a great value. I have come here several times and every time the food is good and lots of leftovers. Also quick seating and service.

My husband & I were pleasantly surprised to find this place. We walked in at 2pm on a saturaday. Everyone (wait staff & customers) there were Mexican/Latino, which we thought was a big vote of confidence. The guacomole was fresh, the chips were crispy, and the food came very quickly and in large portions. We'll be back.

First off, I have to say I am a Mexican food snob. I went to college in Las Cruces, NM where I ate amazing Mexican food 2-3 times a week and had several choices of great restaurants. That being said, if you have had good Mexican, Fiesta Jalisco is not the place for you, you will just be disappointed. First off you are given free salsa and hot tortilla chips, the chips are good, the salsa not so much. It's slightly spicy, but watery and not that flavorful. I'm a big fan on enchiladas, so that is usually what I will get when I go to a Mexican place. You know a place will probably have good enchiladas when it says "your choice of red or green chile", this was not the case at Fiesta Jalisco. Their menu said "our enchilada sauce contains peanut butter. PEANUT BUTTER?!?!?!? Who puts peanut butter in their enchilada sauce?? I was very confused, but decided that I would try it because I couldn't decide on anything else and I had to know how someone put peanut butter in their sauce. My boyfriend went with the chicken taco salad. The food came out fast, and was hot. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy his taco salad, but that isn't saying much because he isn't very picky. My enchiladas were edible. I enjoyed the refried beans and the flavor of the rice, although it was undercooked. The enchilada sauce was weird. Peanut butter should not be put in enchilada sauce EVER. It made it sweet and enchilada sauce should be spicy, not sweet. Again, like I said, I am a mexican food snob. Perhaps if I had never had any mexican food, I would think it was good, but I wasn't a fan. The server was nice, and service was fast, I guess they get points for that.

Being a mountain town, and being tired, bruised and battered from crashing the motorbike, I had lowered my standards on what good food is, but Fiesta Jalisco really came through. I would like to give them 3.5 stars. The decor is great, as long as you don't look through the faux arched interior windows into the annex room which is filled with boxes, old chairs, and general clutter. My margarita was just OK, a little saltier than I would have liked but sometimes the salt on the glass falls into the drink and that's what you get... so I will forgive this. The food and service were really good. They must have stepped up their salsa since Valerie's visit, because it was pretty good I thought! I had the carne asada which was great, and my boyfriend was very happy with his meal as well.
(3)Rebecca P.
I have to say I liked this place. It was better than I expected for a strip mall chain like Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Enchiladas de Espinaca and was delighted by what came out of the kitchen. I ordered it without the queso. The veggies were sautéed in a nice amount of butter and salt and then wrapped up in a corn tortilla with some green tomatillo sauce on top. The pinto beans were also good. The free chips and salsa were tasty and the salsa was nice and spicy!! The one strange thing about my enchiladas is that on the menu the tomatillo sauce is in "quotes." Why? I would stop in here again if I am ever stuck in Dillion due to a closed mountain pass.
(3)Lauren W.
What the hell is wrong with you people?? The food here SUCKS. It looks like something that will make me piss out of my ass if I eat it. I only got a beef taco and it wasn't really that good. My boyfriend, on the other hand, got a dinner entree, with the rice and beans on the side... the beans looked really gross, like something you'd see out of Hell's Kitchen. (flashback to that episode where Ramsey goes in a kitchen and finds beans that's been sitting in a large chemical bucket for days) BARF. My boyfriend also is fluent in Spanish and he said that the workers there were very rude- cursing in Spanish out loud in front of all the customers. I definitely will not eat here again, and stayed true to my word when we and our friends somehow ended up a second time there. I only ate the chips (the salsa sucks) and drank margaritas, which actually weren't bad... they were pretty strong! I think they want people to get drunk so they don't notice how much the food sucks. I'm onto them, I'm onto them....
(1)Kate G.
Pretty standard Mexican food at average prices, and with average service. The decor is about as classic "dated Americanized Mexican restaurant" as you can get. But the margaritas are extra salty so this place is A-OK in my book! The menu is long and the chips, salsa and bean dip are decent with a spicy kick. Portions are huge. This is not a place I'd go if you're looking for the mountain "scene" but it will curb your hunger for plain Mex in a pinch.
(3)Jeff G.
This is what you might call "chain mexican food". If you like it, super-duper.
(2)Shola V.
We were staying at a motel nearby and stumbled across this restaurant. We got takeout: they included chips and a good spicy salsa with the order, which was a nice surprise. The food was good - chicken taquitos with chunky guacamole and a chicken enchilada.
